So it's source code was never in the public domain for Linus Torvalds to "modify". 8 know my argument is didactic but I wanted that clarification made. There's a lot of similarities between say an Audi, a BMW and a Mercedes. But they are completely different products that possibly reuse the same fundamental parts.
