dominique:I once had an experience when a friend who is an RCCG Pastor got a job for me.... It was just remaining for me to clear the last hurdle of the interview.... The Pastors there told me they couldn't give me the job cos I was not an RCCG member.... They knew initially I wasn't and still called me for the interview. So it might be possible in this his case. |

Fixey:I am an igbo, living in blocks of flats and 90% of the tenants are yoruba , landlord keep telling us that the best tenants they get are igbo.... We don't owe rent, we aren't dirty, we don't mess up the yard we don't bring mgbati mgbati tribalism there ...we pay our bills But the yoruba tenants are always troubleshooting, they don't pay their rent and many will not pay nepa bill piling it up to 300k and then pak out |

Fixey:with this ur summation, Me thinks dat u r exactly like those people who rejected that guy cus of his tribe. No matter what u don't stereotype people. N u might be a good guy, n then someone meets someone else from ur tribe n gives such a person d kind of trust he would give u , n then get's duped what il now say? People are all different no matter d tribe. I ve delt with all tribes of Nigeria n I can bet u, stereotyping is worst thing a person should do cus there is d good, the bad n the ugly in all tribes. So get dat ur stereotyping attitude off u head. |

Even tho op's story is largely bullshit, what disgusts me about this despicable flatin0s is the fact that they do exactly what they blame others for but are fast to take up the victim card, any Yoruba employing an Igbo is simply stupid, as far as the 60s Ahmadu Bello said this thing about the clannish, dubious and vindictive nature of igbos and spitting on the faces of those who help them, their unruly, savage behavior which they stupidly call republicanism made them a people where everyone what's to lead but no one wants to follow which is why they find it difficult to get along with their bosses and authority, they always think they can cheat the system cus they feel they're smarter than others but when they get caught they start begging, ask yourselves why in Indonesia, ghana, south Africa and other nations always have some bad expirence with igbos, business wise they're simply crooks and cheats who inflate prices or sell fake or substandard products, check computer village, ladipo or and known Igbo market, plus you'd hardly see a second generation Igbo business, .... I manage my family's estate in lagos and I can't count the number of times I've had to settle issues with these people in court....they pay rent very late, but are always renovating and they are always looking for a legal loophole to expliot, they're bad neighbors always picking fights with those around them and very confrontational...... summary is that I've stopped renting to this bastards, as per employment and opportunities i don't exploy them but I keep a few of them as non executive board members, honestly I find it easier working with yorubas especially Yoruba women. To avoid stress in life just avoid this Igbo people like a plague. |

Typical example ye all wanted Biafra Same igbos and una governors say Nnamdi Kanu is sick to be agitating such dream. Better go and build ur self and stop attributing your predicament on the yorubas. |

LordOfTheGame:It is a relevant opinion.... Talk the truth and stop defending what is obvious... My dad has issues with igbo tenants too.... All of them were problematic to him.. Even our edo neighbors were not problematic at all... Most people complain about igbo tenants too much.... I have experience it but doesn't mean I hate igbo.... I love all tribes but let's correct what is needed to be corrected |

Cashsteady:most times it is out of jealous.... one yoruba man told my brother that he will not rent him a flat especially those in alaba because he is afraid that he will buy the house from him. Caretaker tried that nonsense with my uncle. He jump pass him and meet the lawyer. He paid three years rows what the care taker house pays plus extra. The lawyer was very happy because the caretaker owe him two years rent |

Fixey:You made a point which is equally an advice to all ethnic groups, but let me educate you something about the Igbo's, just like every other tribes with their own behavioural attitude, an average Igbo man is very vocal, meaning they don't condone nonsense, you wrong them, they confront you about your ill attitude irrespective of your position, so many people find this offensive and threatening, If an Igbo gateman can talk to his boss on how he feels when he is hurt, what will he now do when he climbs up that ladder, that is more reason people Don't want them around most times, Igbo men have never been the yes sir kind of people when you demean them, some people also have natural hatred on Igbo's probably because of what they heard but have not seen, When you travel abroad and gets in a tight corner as a Nigeria, you are likely to receive much more help from an Igbo man more than any other tribe in Nigeria, I am a witness to this, that someone is brave enough to confront his problems doesn't mean he is a problematic person, it is better to speak up than to die in silence, my candid observation. |

Such a pity about this thread. It appears to be a tribe bashing thread full of irrelevant sentiments. I came to read hoping to learn takeaways about human resilience when facing challenges and how innovative thinking got contributors through the obstacles faced during the employment process. What a waste of my time! |
