How profitable is it for a company to engage in just stock market? And like how much capital can such company start with? Anyone?

I'm also amazed by this recent attitude. I just emailed them again. This time, I copied their CEO(obong.idiong@africaprudential.com), SEC(sec@sec.gov.ng), CSCS(contact@cscs.ng) and NSE(contactcentre@nse.com.ng). I believe they will reply this time. If not, nah to cc President and Vice President remain b dat grin
UPDATE I:
It seems my email caused ''gbosgbas'' at Afriprud office today...Lol.

Imagine, I've received 5 emails already in less than 5 hours! The same office that did not acknowledge my emails since last week.

The stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient.
The JB you disposed today might be difficult to acquire in the foreseeable nearest future.
A good lesson was CHAMPION brewery, it was such a stagnant stock for over 4 years. I averaged down and never gave up. At a stage, I was the only one buying champion.
There was a time ,the price fell to 0.65kobo.
I vex and increase my holding by adding 1 M units.
Fast and forward, the worst stock in Nigeria Stock Exchange turn out to make me a better investor.
If I sell CHAMPION at sub N1, I will still be in profit.
However, I was clever enough to serially disposed
4 M units at year high of N4+
Back to the topic,
I have the feeling that JB will surely reach previous 5Y high if the decision to diversify into various sectors yield fruits.
The take home point "The stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient."

There are other better bargains that will come around, pending then I am holding my cash let them enjoy their 40 kobo. It was a total waste of time. To think that it was over 70% of my portfolio JB no try.

Non controlling interests swallowed the whole profit, leaving a negative balance for shareholders. This caused also the shareholder funds to drop. Was this non controlling interest reflected in Q3 results ? Will next year be better or worse for shareholders ?

Obong Idiong is a very serious guy. I know him, and I respect and admire him a lot. He doesn't joke with excellence. I'm pretty sure he must have been very pissed off that your request went unattended to for a while. Good thing you copied him.

GTBank and Zenith still remain the best stocks in Nigeria on every parameter. GTBank is better because they are more fiscally efficient, and their corporate governance is better. These are the things foreign investors look at. Zenith is also good, but it comes across as a one-man bank to many people considering that Jim Ovia is Alpha and Omega in that bank. It is also less efficient.

That man called Tony looks he has gone to get tips from wale on how to manage listed businesses under his control to Short change shareholders. He will regret his actions in the future. He still thinks the investing public are still in those analog yesrs with no investment forums which resulted into blind purchasing of shares.
