I can still remind you of what Ekpan people did to you guys (esp the Ubejis) in the 70s during a land grab by the Itsekiri people too.
all you know how to do is rant about itsekiri, like you don't have issues plaguing your tribe and it's lands??
Funny thing is only uhrobo have a problem with the title, and always laugh at your folly for trying to bring the ijaws to come and partake in your hate agenda, which they don't care about grin grin
Oga rest, stop behaving like a tout when ever you hear about the greet people of iwere land cool cool

My dear. I was on ground in those days. Nobody crossed even Edo state into Warri to go fight wars. Also, yorubas can't survive the kind of battles fought in Warri. Don't say things you don't wish that when it happens, you would wished it didn't.

yes na from Idumusobo to Ogbe-Ijaw to Miller Water Side to Agbassa to McDemott Road everywhere was unsafe for the warring parties - Even the water ways from Warri to Benin River and Forcados - killings everywhere - it was crazy then, I didnt see yorubas in the fight, even the Ilajes in Warri were silent and said they were yorubas and not Itsekiri hence they do not have a dog in the fight. Today they are claiming Itsekiri because they want the son of their daughter to become Olu of Warri - interesting, when war burst out una no claim Itsekiri grin

I know how bloody it went. The funny thing is outside Warri and Delta, everyone acted like nothing was happening or rather the magnitude of the fracas was not really communicated outside to gain awareness. Damn, time flies. Men fell... I was on ground throughout in the other side of the city and can beat my chest that not a single yoruba man got involved in that fight or mention anything about it.

Stop peddling lies. I am a critical stakeholder in that community. It's out of respect to the Itsekiris I don't get involved in their issues. But that doesn't mean you'll be allowed to roam freely with lies. You think yorubas can't fight the kind of fights fought in Warri. Continue day dreaming

Itsekiris and Yorubas are of the same blood. Binis are half Yorubas half Idu/Igodomigodo. Also Iwere is the real name and it was corrupted to the popular Warri. The first Olu of Warri was a Prince from Benin, and the Benin made up of the royals in Itsekiris that is why they cleverly put that edit in place, trying to stop Itsekiris and their blood Yoruba to rule as royals. It a new dawn for the great people of Itsekiris as a king king that will bring forth glorious reigns for the Itsekiris has arrived.

God bless you for saying the truth - people want to reap from where they do not sow
And to think that Lt. Gen. Oladipo Diya was the Number 2 man in Nigeria then, a yoruba man - he could not help the Itsekiris

If the Itsekiris are truly yorubas and the yorubas love them, why did Diya not help the Itsekiris?
No influential yoruba man said anything about it on radio, TV or even newspaper - all of them was mute

Damn. I can understand everyone will do what benefits them and I am not criticizing the yorubas for not defending the Itsekiris. I am only pointing this out because they are trying to come reap where they did not sow!!!!

Ayiri is not aspiring to become the Olu of Warri, so what difference does it make if his mom is yoruba from Okitipupa? - This is why you should respect AYIRI more because he is willing to stand by the truth even when his mother is yoruba, he is refusing to allow Tsola whose mom is yoruba like himself to take the crown because IT IS NOT JUST RIGHT BY THE LAW!!!!

FYI - I know Ayiri and I saw him grow at Okere/Ekpen Street area in Warri, so I did not read about him on social media like you -just to let you know

If the rule is allowed to be bent one day a fulani man would asked the throne and u leash anti-kingdom actions which would put the lives of the people in danger. The rule is the rule. The man in question, the departed King of blessed memory understood the rules and never one day challenged it. Yes, he chose love, no one disturbed him, now they are not to use his deeds to determine the fate of a people. No. It's not North Korea

Yoruba has been cheated again, all Yoruba Obas and elders must rise up to defend prince Tshola the real owner of the crown

That's not the way to judge matters. It is not a tribal thing. It is an edict that is causing issues.

You've said it all. He left Bini in anger but left his son, Eweka, who later became the second Oba of Benin.

And we understand that it's only Eweka lineage that rules in Benin.

So, you've by yourself established that it's the descendants of Oranmiyan to Eweka to.........present Oba of Benin that rules.

Therefore, it wouldn't be out of place to submit that the Binis (or the Bini Ruling House) are of Yoruba blood.

Gbajure:

Only those ignorant of history will said that Oranmiyan conquered Edo land. He was invited. And he left in frustration and anger with the Ogiamme antagonism. But he left his son Eweka for a good reason. And even tough the Ogiamme first refused to let Eweka ruled eventually he prevailed and become the arguably second Ona of Benin.

To digress a bit, don't u think the Ife people will know more about Oranmiyan, who was born and raised there, than anyone else?

Oranmiyan is not a son of Odùduwà but a grandson. Not by any chance a first born. But due to his warrior nature as Ifá revealed he was allowed to go with the Edions by Odùduwà. Who will trust his first born, the Adimula in waiting to travel that far with strangers?

Cleary you don't get the facts at all. At the height of the Ijaws killing, the Ogiame then, father of the Olú designate sent emissary to Ife, covertly of course, and Yorubas responded. That intervention stopped the genocide. OPC were on ground in Warri and even took the war to Ijaws in Ajegunle and Ondo State. Pls ask those that knew.
God bless you. The strong relationship between the Yoruba, Bini & Itsekiri are interwoven. I recalled that the Old Yoruba Baptist Hymn book used to have a whole section titled ..Erin Itsekiri in those days.

Watch my choice of words, I wrote Bini and not Edo. Edo and Yoruba are distinct people and civilisations. One from Odùduwà the other from Igodomigodo.

Binis are the remnant of those that followed Oranmiyan to Edo land plus the descendants of Eweka, the first Ọba of Benin. Since Eweka mother is Edo, most Binis are there4 with Yoruba and Edo bloods. Binis are Yorubas while Edos are not.

Incidentally only the descendants of Eweka can become the Ọba of Benin not any pure Edo.
This to me is more understandable & less confusing becos it is a fact that at one point in time, Oranmiyan was sent to Benin from Ile Ife to restore peace over there. He later called the place ..
Ile ibinu..probably becos of his experience over there.

Yoruba's is it by force to be associated with the Itsekiri's? The Itsekiri's have constantly rejected you people yet you won't give them breathing space.Fulani's will soon come claim to be part of Olu of Warrior title(we are conquerors lol) laws should be strictly followed and as such I think Ayiri Emami is on point

If Chief Obafemi Awolowo were to be alive, the issue would not have dragged the way it's dragging now.

Remember, he held the highest title in the Itshekiri Kingdom before his demise.

Any Itshekiri man knows this fact.
