One who’s vaccinated against the virus Is still a carrier but cannot be infected or fall sick from the virus. The purpose of wearing mask and using sanitizer is not to protect yourself from the virus but rather protect others from it. Well said but a lot of people don't understand the whole essence of the vaccine. Its meant to protect the vaccinated and its effect doesn't begin immediately.

For the first dose to start protecting the vaccinated, it takes about 22 days and with the second dose, it takes 14 days for the vaccinated to attain the maximum protection the vaccine offers. Now the important thing to note here is that the vaccine does not kill the virus which is why you still need to observe the protocols (wearing a nose mask, wash your hands and sanitize) to prevent the situation where you the vaccinated unknowingly become a spreader.

You must have heard of the super spreaders without symptoms - these are people who carry the virus in their bodies and would test positive when tested, but are not affected by the symptoms. They can spread to others without a strong immunity ....well that's what the vaccinated becomes if s/he does not observe the safety/preventive measures.

The development of covid19 vaccine didn’t start in 2019 rather it was built upon a prior knowledge and template from SARScov 1 epidemic in 2003. The current vaccines we have for sarscov 2 (the virus responsible for covid19) is a modification of the vaccine for SARScov 1 which caused various epidemics in 2003 to 2005.
As a matter of fact, thes viruses are very similarly in their mode of infection which helped the Chinese to easily detect it. China was the only country with the surveillance for Coronavirus related ailments, no country had it. The researcher that detected the virus in China was part of the research team that developed the vaccine for the SARScov 1 in 2003.
So, the current covid19 vaccines already had a template, much was not required to study the virus since it’s very similarly to SARScov 1. We already had crude knowledge on how to deal with it.
