If you have done your biometrics then it is genuine. My mum did hers last year before the lockdown, she is to go do omugo for my brother in Canada. The embassy has not responded since last year due to Covid. So just hold on a bit they will surely get back

First of all, I would like to clarify to you that you have been scammed. Work visa exists but you will need to be given employment from a government of Canada recognized Labour employer before you can begin the process of applying for work visa. No agent has the ability to give such employment from Canada. You will get that employment on your own, and its not easy getting it. Except you are an exceptionally useful to them or that you have been to Canada and have applied for a job and given the job then you will have to come back to apply for the work visa, if you are in Canada on tourist visa. For graduate in Canada you can apply after graduation, in that case you don't have to come back Nigeria to apply from here. Again Canada does not have a path to citizenship if you are in the country illegally. So my brother find that person and collect your money cos its a scam.

my brother agent they give Visa but not 100% guaranteed my senior brother is living and working in Canada since last year February he got his visa through agent spend almost 3.6m for everything. Op, vfs is just a submission and collection Centre. Anybody can go to vfs and submit whatever but the main koko na the embassy. I believe that your agent Is fake because he doesn't have any contact at the Canadian embassy. He has taken your money and he's hoping that Canada will grant you the visa. Biometrics you did is just part of the submission process.

Medical is the first thing before Biometric and all that. And OP, if you have done medical, and your medical isn't at any of these two hospitals in Lagos or Abuja, QLife, Victoria Island; or IUM, Ikeja...sorry, you've been scammed.

Someone I know sent me a similar document to help her verify. She has spent over a million naira. She did her medical at a General Hospital in Ikeja- that's the red light.

Yes, atleast I can vouch for myself but it has processes.

I don't know if things have changed but this was how I did mine in 2008.

1. Got a job through a close pal who signed me up with a retiree who just opened an HR office in Edmonton. Got a job at a construction company.

2. My manager in Canada then applied for Labour Market Opinion (LMO) for me.

3. All necessary investigations we're carried out by tradesecret and I was offered a one year positive LMO with the instructions that I must pass my trade test within 90-180 days after arriving Canada.

4. I now used my positive LMO, Contract and other documents to applied for working permit.

It is so sad that most Nigerians don't understand this process and thinks it is something they can just do through some hungry agents.

I don't know if processes have changed but tradesecret are government agency in Canada and they still exit. So, it is not possible to get a job without being approved by tradesecret. However, things might have changed.

Lastly, you don't have to pay anyone to get a job. Why will you pay? It is the responsibility of your boss to pay for all expenses including a one way ticket to the site.

I am working on something pretty soon with my colleagues in Canada but still arranging somethings for now

I dont think you're been scammed here,as I know of somebody that just got his passport from same embassy after a year,and its written there that they will call for his passport as soon as decision is taken on his application.

I got my Canadian visa through an agent and it took almost a year. PR though. I only responded because someone said most agents cannot get a visa.

There definitely is a slow down because of the covid issue. I'm sure there are ways you can check but it is highly unlikely (not impossible) that there would be fraud at the VFS.
