That is ridiculous! I run a travel agency (4u2nv travels) here in Lagos and the maximum amount (Due to fluctuations in dollar) for a 3 months Dubai visa is N175,000 and One month/2 weeks is N65,000.

SirDickOdogwu:
Please bro can get the Uganda Agent contact as the agents here in Nigeria are now charging me over 800k for dubai visa I don't have such funds now Please I will appreciate it

[quote author=Derende post=101697303]I have read lot of comments here on this thread and I have some points to make;
I know UAE is not a easy country, but am assured of the fact that I can't suffer in this country irrespective of the challenges I face. I have been around for about four days and am learning the system gradually.
UAE is a system that you follow just the way a child goes through kindergarten and move to the University and graduate. If you follow the system you will enjoy the country, but if you feel there is dirhams on the street of Dubai for you to pick you will ghome depressed and dejected.
Am a very focused person with vision and determination and I know what am aiming for.
I came to UAE to follow the system and make a name , it might not be easy now but in a couple of years there will be testimony to make. I will be registering for CNA in a couple of weeks to start the process alongside the job that I will be starting in a week time.

As for those saying I can't make it here in Dubai, let me remind you one thing that you are not my God, only him knows my yesterday, today and tomorrow. What you believe is what happens to you, since I was born I don't believe in the word called failure, my only word is success. No matter how many times you fall be rest assured that you will definitely stand up. Dubai is not my final point , it is just a step to my final destination.

As for the dude saying am a scam and there is no way visa can be processed for 150k, I pity you try and get informed and always research widely. I will advice you to visit travnook.com and see for yourself that a UAE visa is 125k to process. The owner of the site is an Ugandan not a Nigerian. And I can tell you that the problem with Nigeria is not the leaders but Nigerians because we don't trust ourselves again because everybody that post on nairaland is seen as a scam .
If an Ugandan man can process a visa with less that 150k, my friends in Nigeria and Dubai were charging me 250-450 for a visa.

Finally I will be closing the thread because the aim of the thread has been fulfilled. Those that need to learn from my experience at Cotonou should learn from it, that is the reason for the thread. Thanks again, good night and God bless.

0523542635… call me make I flex you small… welcome bro…. You’ve taken your destiny by your hands… Nigerians will keep surprising and disappointing you here so don’t expect too much from them. Most Nigerians on the street os Dubai are all visa agent this visa agent that we know them.. A word is enough for the wise. Your story is 100% legit…
For our brothers living in the UAE, if you don’t live in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, pls shut up and never you call UAE a village…

Am doing this just to help innocent people about venturing through the Cotonou route to learn from my story and avoid making the mistake I made. It is a pity that the country has been so adulterated that before one start a thread on nairaland you are been tag a scammer.

I don't see why someone would need an agent.

Take your time study the process, and do it for yourself.

Most agents don't really do anything special for your travel process.

You clearly don't know how Dubai visa processing works. To get a Visa into Dubai, you need a sponsor i.e. someone who is a valid resident in the country (this is mostly companies or locals). This is where agents come in. They interface between you, the "local" who's ready to stand as sponsor and the visa procurement process. In the case of Dubai, agents are actually very necessary...unless you have a direct family member here already that can stand as your sponsor.

Infact this was another gbege for me, because that was the same stamp on my passport that my agent stamped for me when I came in through Idiroko border. Infact I almost started behaving like a mad man at the airport, only God knew the way I got to my hotel from the Airport.
I was later told that the only solution at the moment was to exit Cotonou through seme border post( which was the authorised border point recognised by the UAE government and the Benin Republic government) and re enter again with a fresh stamp and also do some documentations and attestations of stay for the previous day's I have spent in Cotonou.
At the end of the day, I had no choice than going back to Seme border to restamp my passport with other Nigerians because lots of Nigerians where involve in the same idiroko border stamp issue.
At the end of this episode I have spend another 158k for restamping, letter of residence attestations, a fresh covid Test ( they asked me at the covid centre to carry out a fresh test with another money due to the fact that the previous covid I did has expired for over three weeks) and other miscellaneous expenses. This was money I was holding before to sort part of my hotel bills all gone due to a very bad agent that frustrated me.

During this process alot of Nigerians here who were in even a worst situation as mine have had their visa validity expired at Cotonou and making another application for a fresh visa just for the shame of going back home to Nigeria more dejected and frustrated. The situation was not a palatable one at all because since the incident at the Dubai airport , the Benin immigration officials were now refusing Nigerians to board as far you already have the fake Idi iroko stamp on your passport even after going to seme border to do a restamp. Lot of people missed their flights due to this current issues and a few lucky ones who were fast enough had to quickly reschedule their flight to carry out other attestations and documentation like Hotel bill receipts for the period they were in Benin to back up their passport restamp.

To be continued....

God bless u oo, only God knows how this information is so important to me. Hhmmmm

A sponsor is not always needed. It is a tourist visa not a work visa after all.

I took the liberty of doing some research on Dubai Tourist visas and I was right.

Howbeit, my statement was a blanket statement for agents generally irrespective of the country being travelled to or what the mission of the travel is for (tourism, study, work, "japaism" ).
