Don't let anybody pressurized you into marriage, especially if you are not financially capable. 80k monthly in Lagos na small money considering the high cost of living over there. You can live comfortably with 80k in other south west state but not Lagos especially when you marry a liability as a wife. Even if you marry a Nigeria working class lady, you will still foot all the bill alone. just focus on how to double your hustle and increase your income, you will enjoy your old age if you plan your life very well, with or without a kid or wife. You can still marry and struggle with your wife if that's what you want. Honestly, marriage is not easy,is even worst if you are the only one providing for the whole family. Think Deep

It is not how far, but how well. To be honest, you can marry with that amount. Just get an understanding working class woman. You don't need to have millions before you marry and you should not do it under pressure either.

If it was in the north or some south west state. It would have been perfect or Okay. But Lagos ahhhh. You just want to use your hand and kill yourself. Infact it isnot in any way advisable for a man to have just one source of income. Or just sit and depend on his monthly salary.
As a man u should have more than one source of income.

80k/mnth is just enough for u to get buy and start/ expand ur side hustle.

If u marry now, ur wife becoms ur responsibility.

Small time, belle don enter, pikin don show, more bills, more responsibility, less free money, and ur dreams may be truncated early.

Give urself some time to grow. Even if it's 1 year to increase ur income.

Marriage is not beans.

But If your wife is earning some money and will also bring something to the table, then u may go for it.

Las las, dis life no get formula...

Even a man that earns lower than that can marry.

If you want to wait till you get the millions, you might wait forever.

Learn to save and start thinking of a side hustle.

Una dun start with this marriage wahala.
Getting married with that amount depends on many factors ohhhhhh.

Most Naija girls eye dun tire like kilode.
Then, to marry with that amount I wonder how well u wish yourself, bcs earning such an amount in Lagos mehnnnnnn u gat to think twice ohhhhhhhh bcs when the chips are down that your family wey dey disturb u will not be their ohhhhhh

Never bow to pressure no matter what that's what will make u a man. Their is no competition in who marry late or early.
Bro my eye dun see a lot of things, u must be fuckingly financial stable to marry in this godamn forsaken zoo, remember u gat two mouths to feed, u gat bills to pay, u gat hospital bill in case of sickness.
Mak we no talk about pikin matter, that one na another topic for another day.

Op, make thunder hypothetically fire you and anybody when you wan carry go burden another human being with marriage. Nah Makoko you dey live ni?

That out of the way, if you have sizeable savings, you can carry on ,but no forget other things (80k nah small money by the time you take plenty other economic factors into consideration)

Why not?
We all can not and will never be millionaires.
Just make sure your wife is also bringing something to the table and only give birth to the number of kids you are sure your combined income can comfortably support, preferably two.
Don't be afraid to try Lagos state government public primary and secondary schools for yoir future kids, believe me, some of the best public schools in Nigeria are in Lagos and far better than the mushroom private schools littering some of our streets. I lived in Ogun state and always grateful to my parents for having the vision to enroll me in Lagos government public schools despite the long distance.
Cut your coat according to your size.
Most importantly, keep striving for another source of income, for two are better than one.
Peace.

You can Marty with any amount if you cut coat according to size (live within your means), rent house that annual payment will not be more than your 3 months salary, no need for elaborate wedding just the basic with less expense, if possible try other sources of income, strongly adviceable for wife to also work and be self reliant and finally plan and budget well within your means and plan against number of children you wish to have and be prayerful and focused don't be a spendthrift.

yes

I married in a more expensive city for half the pay... but I was a hustler, so it was not about my paycheque, It was more about what i could make outside my salary.

My wife was also baking some snacks at home and was selling them to school children around.

Na so we do till we blow.

So, it's about your spirit for survival. If you no dey sharp, even 150k no go do you to marry.

With side hustle yea
Cos if pikin enter wahala go start
Get a side hustle and if you don’t have one collect room/Palor self contain like 200k yearly not 2/3 bedroom flat.
Manage from there as a married man you’d have time to save for a side business since it’s just you and wifey then when u get a good side buisness you can start thinking about kids and no born pass 2
