Why try to pay them in another form and with more worth than the service they rendered?

I've noticed some people would refuse payment deliberately. To the best of my understanding, they don't do this just out of kindness. They refuse your payment because they are expecting you to pay them in multiple folds in the near or later future. I find it manipulative, and it offends me.

A newborn child needs care, so do that till your son is at the age of five, and for the next ten years, be strict with him, because this stage is very critical. If you fail to set him right at this stage, you might never be able to get it right again. Kids are very wise and sharp at this stage, they grab things faster.

Then after the age of 16±, start treating him like a friend. This is because the way some dads treat their kids, it wouldn't make their kids approach them. You have to let him believe he can share his problems with you, that he can talk to you and you'll always be there for him.

Some dads are too strict which make their kids seek solution elsewhere and they end up using the wrong advice given to them by outsiders. Remember, there are some times you have to be strict and some times you have to be lenient.

Sometimes ask about his studies, about the kinds of friends he rolls with, what problems is he facing, if at a point he tells you something that offends your sensibilities, instead of punishing him, draw him closer and tell him what he needs to know about life and the harsh realities of it. Don't always reward or praise him for his good behavior and don't always punish him for his bad behaviour.
