You definitely earned the pass mark while Nigeria is called basket of fools. Most Nigerian are intellectually lazy and unfit to do rudimentary research. Biafran troops which through Midwestern region of Nigeria was not up a brigade therefore could not be up to 3,000 troops as stated in the silly write up you foolishly posted as source of your knowledge. Besides Midwestern region was an integral part of Nigeria that had attacked Biafria on July 6, 1967. The military governor of Midwestern region of Nigeria had on August 4, 1967 on Radio Nigeria, Benin City, proclaimed his region supported Gowon and Nigeria on the police action in eastern region.

You Deltans, Edo, Yoruba etc can form your own country. Leave out every last Igbo speaking tribe out of it. It does not matter weather they want to join you or not. LEAVE THEM OUT and we wont have issues.

Na wao. If the sw, se and ss eventually fights against the hausa/fulani force and peradventure wins the battle, the ss will be the next bone of contention. The se might want to annex the ss while the sw might want to support and take some part of the ss. Except there's a strong agreement before battle between the sw and se that no one touches the ss, but i don't think that might be possible.
Lol... And you think the South South will be foolish enough to join either Oduduwa or Biafra... Note: I have nothing against these two ( Oduduwa and Biafra)

One clown will just wake up and start spewing concussive nonsense from his ogogoro-addled brain cells, I'm a proud Enuani man and I have absolutely no socio-cultural affinity with yorubas, many Deltans grew up in the South west especially Lagos, Ibadan and Ondo (Urhobos especially) because we were once under the Western region and as such its normal to integrate with the yoruba society, I can't speak for other Delta groups, but please Enuani have always been profoundly proud of our Igbo roots and you won't see any trace of Igbo denial in the Aniocha/Oshimili axis, if you want to divide us with our Igbo kinsmen and roots with this garbage post then you've failed woefully. Secondly the Ukwuani are the ones closer to Urhobos not us, the Ika are closer to the Benin, while the Urhobos who are the largest single ethnic group in Delta state are an Edoid proto-group. The only people close to the Yorubas are the Itshekiri. Lastly you will be stupid to think a proud Edo man with his rich historical background will be under Oduduwa Republic, don't dare go to Edo state and say that nonsense because Uromi boys go design your destiny with heavy beating.

Actually it has nothing to do with the way he handled it, the problem was that he was ahead of his time, his generation including gowon were deceived by Britain, and therefore didn't see what he was seeing, and the reason he was asking for restructuring in the form of confederation. they therefore misinterpreted his motive, but today we now know why he wanted out from the caliphate controlled nigger area.

"After federal forces take over Benin, troops killed about 500 Igbo civilians after a house to house search with the aid of willing locals” (Washington Morning Post, 27 September, 1967)

“Federal troops killed or stood by while mobs killed more than 5000 Ibos in Warri, Sapele, Agbor (New York Times, 10th January, 1968)"

You are saying that the above quotes by international bodies, supported by eye witness a accounts of some Anioma people not yet infected with Bini Stockholm syndrome is a lie?

The federal troops also carried out those crimes in Agbor, do you also want to accuse Bini of this? When the federal troops came in, there was little or nothing the locals could do, were you expecting them to engage a fully armed troops from the federal angle? Even the Ogbemudie that led the Bini guerilla tigers also had Anioma link, so how could Bini commit such a crime against one of their own?

Nope. The problem Midwesterners of non Igbo origin had with Ojukwu had more to do with Ojukwu removing Ejoor and not replacing him with another non Igbo Midwesterner. They claimed Anioma people went about boasting to them that they are now in charge of the region after Okonkwo was appointed by Ojukwu, and they became filled with resentment towards Anioma people and Easterners.
I doubt they have problem with Igbo interference in their affairs afterall they had no problem when NCNC worked hard to pull them from Western region and in return made them the offer to accept Osadebey as the Premier or give up the capital City of the region. They happily Chose the capital City and was happy to concede the premiership to Igbos.
Midwest was not alien to Easterner interference. Their grouse this time was that they wanted to keep the capital and still keep the headship of the region under Ejoor, which Ojukwu altered.

NCNC's involvement in the Creation of midWest region was to weaken the then AG, it was a give and take situation between the minorities in the western region and the NCNC group in the eastern region.

The division was only possible because of the total compliance of all ethnic groups, but in the case of the 1967 event, the minorities wanted non of that and it was arrogant to impose a leader on them. It had nothing to do with the origin of Okonkwo. During the Midwest invasion, some positions were allotted to some minorities, but that didn't change the perception of the minorities who saw it as an attempt to subdue and coerce them into an indirect rule of the eastern region.

It was simply interest clashing and sadly, nothing has changed till this very moment.

And nope. Bini people are intent on ressurecting their Bini Empire and that involves annexing Anioma.
They are all over Anioma forums planting Igbophobic seeds in the people and looking to have them accept Midwest republic with Oba Bini as the ruler.

The Bini empire is long gone and dead, no Delta group in modern age will let an Oba rule over them. Like I've hinted, Bini is fast losing its grip on these non-edoid group in Delta state.

It's not business as usual.

Pre-War Events

Nigerian military districts at the time of the civil war
Following the 1966 Nigerian coup d'état and the subsequent 1966 Nigerian counter-coup, a wave of resentment and hostility against Igbos because of their involvement in the former coup culminated in the 1966 anti-Igbo pogrom in which 30,000 Igbos and easterners have been estimated to have been killed. Following the erosion of military discipline and trust caused by the killings, a new regional military structure was formed with Military districts in the four regions (Northern, Western, Mid-Western, and Eastern) of the country. However, this raised problems as the ethnic structure of the Mid-Western military was heavily lopsided towards the Midwestern Igbos, who not only made up a sizable portion of troops, but over 75% of the 42 Mid-western officers were Igbo.[4] In an attempt to prevent abuse of power, Ejoor refused to allow a group consisting of Yon DaKolo and Lt. Col. Mike Okwechime from importing weapons, instead choosing to ask the federal government for weapons directly, of which they sent a small amount of Mark V rifles for the 300 soldiers in the area. This, along with the lack of effort to raise any new troops left the Mid-Western region in an incapacitated state by the time the Biafrans invaded in 1967.[5]

At the September 1966 constitutional conference for the future of the country, the Midwest was the only region in favor of a strong federation. Seeing that the oil, cocoa and palm oil rich region would quickly find itself a target of expansionist leanings by its larger, more powerful and consolidated neighbors. This was disagreed upon by many Midwestern Igbo officers, who believed the confederate and secessionist proposals by the other regions were a better approach to the issue, but this was dismissed by Ejoor and his cabinet. Further negotiations were held in Aburi and Benin. Even so, differences in the interpretation in these accords led to an even greater divide between Ojukwu and the Federal Government, later leading to Biafra's declaration of independence on May 30, 1967.

Post-war Events
During a June 7 military conference in Lagos following the Biafran declaration of independence, Ejoor was told "Midwestern State will be kept free from active operations unless where necessary, but the border between the Eastern States and the Midwest will be completely sealed off."[6] Later in a speech in Asaba, Ejoor reiterated that the midwest would not be sucked into a war between the East and the North. This was followed by a redeployment of Federal troops away from Okene. By the time of the start of the invasion, there was only a token force of 300 troops in the entire Mid-Western military command.

After Nsukka fell to the Nigerian Army on July 14 during Operation UNICORD, President Odumegwu Ojukwu knew that the Nigerian Army would next set their sights on the Biafran capital of Enugu. After a mission to recapture Nsukka on July 30 failed and resulted in death of Major Kaduna Nzeogwu, Ojukwu began drawing up plans for an invasion of Nigeria's Mid-Western Region in an attempt to divert attention away from Enugu, as well as to perhaps bring a quick end to the war. In Ojukwu's words: "Our motive was not territorial ambition or the desire of conquest. We went into the Midwest purely in an effort to seize the serpent by the head; every other activity in that Republic was subordinated to that single aim. We were going to Lagos to seize the villain Gowon, and we took necessary military precautions. [7]By the time of the start of the invasion, there was only a token force of 300 troops in the entire Mid-Western military command.

Bolded was the speech credited to the then military governor of Midwest , David Ejoor and his role in the civil war.

The margin was huge because Azikiwe was the slimy devil who manipulated the minorities towards his Agenda.
While Midwest was being carved out, Awolowo, the leader of Western region and Enahoro, the leader of the Western minorities were in jail, so it became much easier for Zik to use both his Media propaganda and Federal might to influence the minorities.

Good morning fellow NIGERIANS.
I am here this morning to write facts and nothing but the truth.

I have been reading some misconception about the people of the Niger deltans concerning Biafra.
Now let me tell you all facts.
An average person from delta state and Edo speaks Yoruba language very fluently, infact apart from English and our normal Edo, ijaw, urhobo, isoko and itsekiri language, our third most spoken language of the people of Niger Delta is the "Yoruba language"
You can take this to the bank and cash it anytime any day.

For example if you go to mile two, mile twelve, Berger and the rest, most of the people, most of the guys you will see in those bus stops particularly in transport companies, most of them are from delta state and Edo ( urhobos In particular)

But the way they speak Yoruba, you will think they are Yorubas.
Contrary to the normal general believe that lots of Igbos are in lagos, apart from the Yorubas who are the legit owners of Lagos State, the second highest concentration of people in lagos state are the people from delta state and Edo.

In Osun, Oyo, Ondo and the rest states of the Yoruba nation, the second most concentrated people in those states are the urhobos and the people from delta and Edo.

Have you been to Ile ife? There are more urhobos in Ile ife than in the entire south east.

The people of delta state and Edo are like twins to the Yoruba nation.
Africa magic Yoruba has the highest viewers from delta state and Edo even more than some Yoruba states, only Lagos top us when it comes to Africa magic Yoruba.
This is not mere propaganda or some lies, i am writing raw facts here.
The people of Niger Delta, delta and Edo and yourbas have this Lionel Messi/Suarez kind of relationship. The love is Genuine.

Do you know that 50% of people from delta, Bayelsa and Edo grew up in south west?

You will hardly ever see an ijaw man or urhobos or Edo, itsekiri man, leaving in south east, it's almost impossible.
Even looking at transportation. 99% of flights and busses coming out of delta, Edo and Bayelsa State are all heading to south west.

Have you been to ore?

My whole point is that i believe in one
Nigeria but if eventually Nigeria breaks, I don't know about Calabar or Akwa Ibom
but the ijaws in porthacourttt and entire deltans, Bayelsa and Edo will rather form a United Kingdom with oduduwas just like the united kingdom and Scotland with Lagos being England.

The Gods have spoken and so shall it be.

Court rise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The united kingdom of oduduwas will be the most prosperous nation on earth.

Note!! I have nothing against the Ibos, i am only speaking raw truth.
we Deltans are BIAFRANS. Case closed

OsuAmaka:

The margin was huge because Azikiwe was the slimy devil who manipulated the minorities towards his Agenda.
While Midwest was being carved out, Awolowo, the leader of Western region and Enahoro, the leader of the Western minorities were in jail, so it became much easier for Zik to use both his Media propaganda and Federal might to influence the minorities.

-Osu amaka
Keep fooling yourself, the remote causes of the referendum, Yorubas championed tribalism, they were using the resources of mid West to develop typical Yoruba clans, ministerial appointments were dominated by Yorubas, during regional government Western region was only region to be engulfed in crises, immediately midwest decided to leave the union, perio to referendum Yoruba media started smear campaign against Benin people to create fear to the rest of midwest for them not to leave, at the end they massively voted to leave, below is Ministerial appointments under Westerner union
