Stanbic IBTC Money Market Fund is a good investment. Very legal and all that but interms of returns, these days it seems to be about the lowest in that industry. Even when the rate for treasury bill is increasing, their rates is still around 1. something %. Someone has about N5,800,000 there now and his daily returns is just around N160 - 200.
He can invest it in Zimvest ethical portfolio (ZEP) at 8% roi.
The portfolio pays out in June and December.

Or you could use pigg.y--v.est.
They have a dollar saving feature which allows you to transfer to your domiciliary account at a charge of ₦3500.

Their exchange rate is slightly higher than the Black market though. It currently stands at ₦485/usd

Thank you Tenderjunkie.

It worked out well using pigg-yv-est.. Hassle free as well.

For the VGIF does your first six months start counting when you open the account or will you get a prorated dividend in July if you invest like in May.

You will get a prorated dividend paid anytime you invest. There are two payment dates - July 1st and January 1st.
So if you invest say May 5th you will get dividend paid July 1st for the period - May 5th to June 30th. Even if you invest on June 29th in the morning you will be paid for the two days.
The same applied if you opt for dividend reinvestment. The prorated dividend is reinvested July or January.

No you don't need to send mail it's automatic However, that is if you pick reinvestment option at the point of registration.

But if otherwise or you are not sure of the option you picked then you can send a mail to customer care that going forward you want your dividend reinvested.

NB you can always make a change as to how your dividend should be utilized before any of the payment dates.

No they don't send monthly Statement of holdings. Statement is sent on request and that can be at any time you wish.

When you need to know your holdings, send a mail to customer care and you get it.

Also when you login to your Acct whether through the app or the web your holdings and the values are shown.

You will have to first of contact your the investment/asset management institution that houses that mutual fund you intend to send the money to verify if they haven't change that account number yet... A number of investment houses have changed theirs all their account numbers within the last six months. So confirm from them..

I don't understand what's up with United Capital PLC.
I placed N1,000,000 in their bond fund just over a week ago.
Each time I check not one kobo accrued as interest.
Only for me to check this afternoon and almost N10,000 has been wiped from my account balance.
I thought my capital should be preserved in a bond fund.
I sent WhatsApp message to customer care. They read but are yet to respond.
I have been calling Customer care but no one is picking my call.
I also sent email, and I am still awaiting response.
Can't one do business with these people and hold them to their word?

Do you still have the bond fund with them. Capital is not guaranteed, but in 3 months you should be okay
