I doubt if the guy knew what he was saying, he Prolly said that to justify collecting money from women, which to me is not necessary.

There's always going to be a reason to collect money from your partner. Banks can change their minds and not allow your transactions to go through, business can be delayed, brokenness can overtake one over night and the next person one should reach out to in a time like that is his partner.

Depends on the boyfriend and the circumstances but generally speaking I am of the opinion that in a loving relationship you help each other no matter what.
