I have enjoyed tremendous favours from total strangers, this is why I have decided to be acting like an angel to people in awkward situations, refusing to share my contact, name or any details, sometimes by not even talking at all.

Back to the topic.
It was a Friday night in Dec 2014, my SUV was fully loaded with wedding gift items for the 2 wedding events we were travelling from Lagos to Ilorin for. I had just me and my whole family with me - my wife and 2 daughters aged 3 & 1.

Somewhere between Ibadan and Oyo town (around Fiditi) at about past 8pm, my much-trusted SUV's engine knocked!

Brought out rechargeable lamp and set it in the middle of the road, gradient was steep and curvy and I kept flagging for help for a period that looked like forever. My youngest daughter kept crying and just as I was going to the other side of the road to keep them separated from where I was, this stranger came with his blue Nissan Tino and offered to help move my family to a hotel in Oyo and help get a towing vehicle for me.

Shortly after he left with my family, another man came in an Accord 'Bulldog' loaded with car spare-parts. He was going to Ilorin too! But my wife and children were already in Oyo looking up hotel rooms. I called my wife. The Tino man was still with them. The man offered to drive them back to where I was; the 'Bulldog' guy said that was the best suggestion and so he waited and we talked about cars and what-nots before they returned. The time clocked to 11. Tino man left saying he had no phone and wasn't ready for me to give him mine in writing.

The 'Bulldog' guy got my family to our Ilorin doorsteps at about 2am.

I was left alone in that bush but with great relief. At around midnight, a rickety Golf2 with 2 very young boys parked by. They told me they were coming from Ondo and 1 of them was getting married that (Saturday) morning. They claimed their car also spoilt on the road 'since morning' but they couldn't get help on time, which is the reason they were this late. Their experience made them promise to always help others on the highway. So, they helped me tow the loaded SUV with their shivering car to Oyo trailer park as agreed. As soon as we got to the park, the towing rope cut and they just waved me goodbye without an opportunity for me to truly thank them.

My brother-in-law drove from Lagos and got to me by exactly 3.15 am and we towed to Ilorin, (crazy experience!). We made it to both weddings as planned. We ordered engine from Lagos, and returned the following weekend.

4 total strangers came to my aid on 1 occasion when neither my own resources nor strength could save me.

May God bless you all wherever you may be this morning. You and your family will never be stranded in Jesus name.

It's good to help others. On numerous occasions, I've been able to help and most of them were strangers. I could remember vividly how I helped a follow commuter complete his fare with the last naira on me. Asin I risked it all for someone I didn't know. In fact, when I alighted, I had to trek for 20 mins to my destination. There are too many instances to cite.

However, when I'm in need, rarely do people come to my aide. At a point, I couldn't help but wonder if my situation was beyond the physicals. I can't remember when I received a kind gesture from someone outside my bloodline. Despite that, man gatz help man. If I get, I go surely lend help.

Although not a quid pro quo, hopefully, someday, someone go surprise me no mater how little.

I was writing an exam...I wasn't really good with the course, but I had been able to answer one question successfully. I am not really good with calculation, and was stuck...I couldn't answer any more questions. It was a carry over, and if I failed it, that would be an extra year for me.

I'm not really good at spying during exam, so I just sat there thinking of my life. Lol. The girl in the front bench to my right was sitting sideways, and she asked if I had finished, I said no, but I didn't know any more. She knew I was carrying the course over and how much passing the course meant, so she quickly wrote the answer to the remaining two questions on her question paper, and titled it to the side so I could copy...I couldn't see it, and she said we should exchange question papers...as I said earlier, I am not really good at cheating during exam, so I froze, and couldn't do the exchange. This girl got up from her seat when someone was talking to the invigilator, walked back very quickly, took my question paper, and dropped hers before she went to submit her paper.

She risked a lot, because the invigilator was one very no nonsense assistant lecturer. Even though it is was technically cheating, that was the most romantic and kindest thing any stranger had ever done for me. Yeah, she was kinda of a stranger, cos it was a big class, and I didn't really know her. But thanks to her, I passed that course.

There was day i was coming to Lagos on leave, so it was an election time in Lagos and no movement. All vehs av to stop at Begger. So as a security personnel, i came down from the commercial bus and moved 2wards to securities on guard, i talked to them, and was told to pass with my veh. A man sighted me and talked to me that i should come inside his car cos he will be having an appointment with MTN officials and he need to make timing. I succumbed and took 2 vehs pass. I got to his house and was abt to continue my movement. He then asked, can i drive? I said yes, then he said i should go home with his car cos he av other cars and i can return it any day in 3 days time. I refused be he couldn't listened too, he insisted i take d car home. So i did and brought it back same day. He was so glad, he tuk me in and told his maid to prepare lunch for me and i also left his house with some cash. God bless you sir, i really do appreciate you.

Honestly, stories like hers don't really fascinate me in a thread like this, because we all know the guy probably won't have done that if it was a guy.

It was one faithful day after my second semester exam. I boarded a bus from owerri to aba to visit my uncle. As the conductor began to collect money from passengers,i dipped my hand inside my pocket to get my wallet bt i was shocked and suprised when i realized that i couldnt find it.As the conductor noticed what i was battling with,he signalled the driver who put the bus to a hult.They accused me of trying to play a trick on them.with tears in my eyes,i showed them juice and buiscuit i bought at the park.Asking them how could i have gotten that if i wasnt with any money.yet all my pleas fell on deaf ears and they were determined to throw me out of the bus.As they were about to push me out,i heard one beautiful soft voice behind telling them to stop that she will pay.I turned, with tears in my eyes to see the good samaritian and i mutured a silent thank you to her. You need to see how i felt that day.when we alighted, i humbly thank her and exchanged numbers.Right now we are plannig our wedding come exmas.

Really plenty but I think these two really standout for me.

1. During my IT I came to Lagos to stay with my step sister, she said I couldn't stay with her that she wanted to be alone and so I was stranded. Prior before that, my mum and I used to sell food at the garage and so she had some customer and there was this particular one who developed interest in me because I was smart and would help him fix things on his phone. So I reached out to him in the middle of the night that I was stranded. He didn't even think twice, he told me to come to his house and I stayed with him for the duration of six months. On top of that for the 6moths I stayed with him, he gave me N700 everyday for my feeding like every blessed day. Now I'm currently serving and my future is already looking promising. He is in malawi now but I always make sure I reaffirm myself and tell him on VN that I promise to take care of him. He laughs it off but I mean everything I say.

Second one was during my IT, I needed to pay my school fees so I entered into playing bet (stopped after like 2months I hate losing money). I was tired and depressed but didn't share. So one day a classmate reached out to me and was just checking up on me because I usually help him during exams and I just told him wsup. He told me to send my account and transfered the complete money. Lol

Now, I'm currently serving, learning data engineering and Business Intelligence and even turned down a job of N250k because Im still serving somewhere far from lagos and they wanted me in Lagos. But I know I would be hot cake once I'm done with service and N250k will be change by the time I add more skills.

I needed to pay my school fees before the deadline at 4pm that day. The money would increase after then. I couldn't afford the increment. The network was bad at the bank. All the banks i went to that day had network problems. I was chatting with someone i met online while waiting at another bank. We hadn't even talked much up to that point. Asked where i was. One talk led to another and i explained my plight. I honestly wasn't expecting anything because we barely talked talkless of knowing each other. The person left work to find somewhere to make the payment for me in their area.
I was doubting at first until i confirmed it on my school portal that it was genuine. I was really grateful. I asked for account number to pay back since i was already waiting at the bank. The person posted me and posted me and never collected the money back.

God knows i can never forget the favour.

It feels so good reading all these lovely comments and seeing the joys in people's heart even for a help as little as #500 naira.

It only shows what a simple act of kindness can do for an individual.

Growing up in a rough suburb like Onitsha, we we were taught to always stay alert and cautious whenever we receive help from strangers. So I guess it grew in me an independent habit because I always try to figure out everything myself without asking for external help .

Except it's inevitable.

Don't get me wrong... I've gotten lots of help in my life but it's usually from people I'm acquainted with. Thanks to family and friends. Besides, I do more giving than asking.

And I deeply believe it affects my relationship with women because. I tend to naturally give a lot of love, attention and affection to my partners and with time they begin to take that for granted. so I figured it's best to bottle up those hearty emotions ♥️

A day before lockdown last year i was going home from school got to park transport had gone up no other money with me a woman completed the transport for me and made sure i had enough to get home

This is so true. It pays to be respectful.

I had a similar experience once , though related to NYSC.... Through her I got a Good PPA for free. All because I greeted her well . Till today, I remember that experience and Thank God.

The man asked me to send my account details to him which I did. To my greatest surprise, I got a credit alert of #15,000, the same amount I was going to sell that stuff. The man is an Igbo man judging from the name on his account while I'm a pure Yoruba from Osun state. I still don't know what he looks like or where he lives till today. Was greatly moved by all these testimonies. Good peeps still abound all over the world. May God continue to bless and replenish them.
During my Nysc days and my first time traveling to the North ( i was reporting to camp, which will close the next day) ,the driver of the bus I boarded stopped at Abuja and couldn't continue as that was his final destination. I have been scammed by those ticketer from where I boarded cos they collected full money for my final destination. I was literally stranded being that we got to Abuja very late and we can't sleep inside the park. ATM machines then are not yet available and what I have on me was barely enough to see me thru the journey to the NYSC camp in another state. He came down from the bus and left only to come back while i was still contemplating on the next line of action, and invited me to come share his hotel room with him. Was skeptic at first cos he was a total stranger and I was thinking maybe to share the rent with him, but he told me not at all. Followed him to the room and slept on the couch in the hotel room. Daybreak he bought another ticket for me to continue my journey. For this singular act alone I was able to get to camp before 12 noon thereby beating the deadline for camp registration. I still can't remember your name sir but I know God has blessed you more for me and will still bless you more.

I saw this topic in the morning, today, I bookmarked it for later browsing. I went out and did transaction of 25,000 naira to a wrong account number. I looked up the name of the receiver on Facebook, sent him a message, explained everything in details. After forth and back, he called me and sent the money back to me without asking for anything in return. Just today!
And he's an Igbo man, a clergyman.

May be Igbos are not as bad as many Nigerians ignorantly believed, most especially the stereotype about the money.

My own story is different, it was during lockdown I was robbed at my home , the robbers took my phone but my laptop was hidden so they could not found it, I started using my laptop to logging to all my social media account, I logged in on twitter to see one of my followers doing birthday, we only interact on social media have never met him In person, so I wished him happy birthday in his DM, it was late night, so I apologise for wishing him late, and I explained my hurdle to him, immediately he requested for my account number, he gave me a lot of money, have never met him before just twitter interaction, God bless you seun Adeola, I so much appreciate your gesture ❤️❤️❤️, forever grateful
