Every woman experiences pregnancy differently. What was yours like? If you already have several children, how were the pregnancies different/the same? What did you enjoy about being pregnant? What didn't you enjoy? What were the challenges?

Sleepy
Tired
Nauseous
Lots and lots of headaches in the beginning.
Decreased appetite sometimes
Sometimes ravenous. Lol

Not a lot of weird cravings. ate a bunch of edible clay though (just that).

Was stronger during my first, even though I was technically more prepared for my second due to previous experience. Less symptoms with the first too.

I’ve heard some ladies don’t even know they are pregnant until they start showing or even in extreme cases until they are in labor. meaning they had little to no symptoms. Must be nice

Clay? I don't understand. Clay, as in the one used to mould?? ??

No the edible one. Called nzu in igbo language

I had some sort of pica due to moderate anemia the pregnancy caused (moderate anemia is pretty normal during pregnancy) but I was always weak and couldn’t keep up my energy. So I had to take in extra iron supplement. The clay is a good source of it. Many pregnant women without realizing it usually crave the nutrient their body is missing.

Regular iron supplements from the pharmacy usually cause more nausea and gastrointestinal distress. I couldn’t stand those iron pills.

Does this mean they were menstruating all through?

For some people yes. For others, possibly not but it might not have been concerning to them because they were either used to naturally irregular periods or they were on birth control.

For example depo provera will stop your periods after two shots . If you’re unlucky to get pregnant thinking your birth control is working, e go tey before you realize you’re even pregnant. So you can’t use a missed period to judge if you accidentally got pregnant or not.

The sweetest annoying part is having to urinate when the sleep is sweetest, twice or more in cold weather.. Most times you hardly can sleep back immidiately. Make I reduce volume for this second one.In the early first trimester,my sexual urge can be so high,I will need sex so bad! Hope only ladies heard me?

First three months was tough. Was hospitalized thrice. Constantly going to the hospital. Had to move in with my eldest sister. The vomiting was intense. It made me dehydrated and I had to be constantly admitted to be given drips.

At a point, I threw up everything till I started throwing up my saliva. I was so weak and I lost so much weight. No appetite. Couldn't drink water because it irritated me. Always hot internally. AC and fan were very important to me. I was always having saliva in my mouth.

But after I cross the first trimester, I was fine. No swollen feet, no big nose, I slept well, ate well, no saliva, better appetite. My tummy doesn't get so big, just compact and cute grin.

Men! That part is so tiring. And once you urinate, you can already feel the bladder filling up again.

Being single doesn’t affect my reproductive system does it?

grin exactly. Although it’s just the fetus sitting on your bladder not necessarily that it’s filling up constantly.

In my case during the last few months when they are already getting big, anything I eat, comes right back out because mine sabi kick like footballers.
The kicking upsets my stomach so badly I’ll just go throw up so I can have room to breathe and they can have room to stretch.

Oh, wow. I didn't know this. I just love(d) it, even to the point of addiction. cheesy And my friends would always warn me about it and say it "depletes" blood instead.

The first trimester was really hard for you. Glad it was over after the first trimester. A friend of mine had these symptoms all the way till delivery.

But on a more serious note, would you prefer to learn about the pregnancy on the day of labor? This must be quite a shock.

A whole 9months of torture. Meanwhile, some ladies don't even have these sickens even in the first trimester.

I never felt sick, just a mild nausea. Eating something would make it go away each and every time which doesn't help with weight control. grin There is always something. smiley
