I have friends that relocated since 2010 and they are doing well over there. The husband went there first and later his wife joined him. They are both into education (teachers), and are blessed with 4 children. In summary, they are doing well.

They treat Nigerians well and the country is good for business as far as you have money to start a good business better than starting from scratch, a lot of Nigerians are doing well over there, I have lived there for a while and I can boldly tell you it is better than countries like Turkey, SA, Dubai, most Nigerians in these countries I mentioned are just managing except you’re into Yahoo.

I hope the 700k does not include your flight and accommodation? Getting a shop in a good location will be your first priority. It also depends on how standard you want the shop to be except you just want to hide in one corner

You know you need to setup your papers in order before you open a store in Gambia as a foreign.

You need to be extremely good with the hair cut thing. Mehn those guys from liberia and sierra leone in the gambia are just giving most Nigerian barbers a run for their money. If those guys cut your hair with just a razor blade and hair comb u will be wowd

I lived in Gambia between 2010 to 2013. The place is good place to stay however poverty rate is high. Note with about 700K you will be managing.

Banjul and Serekunda which is their capital and commercial area is not that underdeveloped as in you will find topclass shops in any business field. You will see more beautiful hotels in Kololi than the ones in Nigeria.

In all the reason I am saying this is for you to know that the place is not so backward like that unless if you go into the provinces like Birikama, Farafeni or Basse which is not advisable. So you should be prepared for challenges.

Resident permit is not a problem, with small money you get it and renew it every year.
