90% of igbo millionaires and billionaires are EXTREMELY selfish. THEIR OWN FAMILIES SUFFER, apart from the wife and kids.

They rarely do anything for their own communities apart from maybe distribute rice and provisions to the villagers at christmas.

You will see an Igbo man worth several millions of dollars. Some of his brothers/cousins etc will still be hustling on the streets, some even hawking.

You never see that with northerners. Once one of them is rich, and you see the brothers, you won't even know the one that is the big shot, because they're all solid.

When they travel to Dubai, you'll see up to 20 of them at the airport, from Alhaji to his brothers, sisters, mum, dad, cousins, drivers, hairdressers, house helps etc.

An Igbo man, if he travels with anyone, na him wife and maybe his kids. Finish.

More often than not, he just sneaks out alone.

I think the refusal of wealthy Igbos to share their wealth among their relatives and close kinsmen is a reason for the continued marginalisation of Igbos in Nigeria. Political influence requires that you have a large base of well-to-do elite. When you restrict that elite to a tiny club of monied men, your base is weakened, and easy to manipulate. It is very easy for others to take advantage of your group.

A typical northern millionaire believes his brothers should ALSO be millionaires.

A typical Igbo millionaire believes his brothers should NOT be millionaires because that challenges his status as ''onye isi'' (the top dog) whom everyone has to approach for help.

So when he ''helps'' his brothers, he basically gives them just enough to make a decent living, but definitely not enough to place them on HIS level of wealth.

There is always a clear boundary and ceiling, as to how rich he can help you get. It must never be anywhere close to his level.

That is the typical Igbo millionaire's mentality, and it's pretty sad.

Igbos build millionaires.... They have you work for your money.... And this is a good thing.... Don't just go about dashing out money, give them the boat to go fish their own currency....

The Northerners on the other hand will dash you money and gives you whatever favors you ask them... but rarely will they establish you except their family member......

Whichever way.... whatever your destiny is, is what you make of....

Northerners live a very simple life.. they don't care about your expensive wines and whatnot. It's in North you'll see a multi-millionaire drinking fura, sachet water and the likes.. very simple folks

Our Eastern brothers are not doing bad too to be honest, they carry themselves along outside their region. They try to form click in any place and push a front. If only they could rally themselves to develop their region the same way they do in other places.

I'm sorry but that is nonsense.

A typical Igbo millionaire will not give you enough to start a business that is on a gargantuan scale of his level, that can earn you millions of dollars in revenue.

He might give you 20,000 dollars if you're really lucky. ''Go open a shop somewhere and stop bothering me. Family! Can you see? I've helped him o! Let him not come back next month and say he wants another money ....'''

An Hausa-Fulani millionaire is ready to give his brother 1 to 5 million dollars CASH to, start a business, and that is what they do. That's why their wealth is generational.

The North doesn't need an Obi Cubana.

We don't want more night clubs. A single borehole in any needy village is more valuable than all those Sodomic and Gomoric spectacles.

You just make post from your shitty brain....

Go ask.... Igbos take sales boys and settle them after a brief period of 10years and stuck up their shops for them... They inturn take house helps and keep enriching themselves....

Never heard a northerner give themselves money to go do business...
Lots of Northerners I know starts from scratch.. They pick scraps and sell and save money to change line of business to shoe mending and then okada to Keke to buying and selling cows and so on...

Some get lucky and get empowered by government...

I know a guy who is selling pure water and his brother is very rich.... The day police collected my car and he saw me without my car and asked me what happened and I told him.. He spoke with his brother and the police traced me to my area to return my car to me...

Just don’t get why this Obi Cubana mums burial is getting some bigoted, non-Igbos hot under the collar!

It’s a recognised fact, not only nationally but world-wide, that Igbos have developed a system outside government enablement that ensures a better spread of wealth and opportunities amongst its populace than any other ethnicity in the country!

That aside, all the massive human and capital development that’s occurred in Igboland since 1970 to date, you think it was done by the ‘fair and balanced’ federal gov’t....or the cash-strapped state gov’ts!? Most of this was done by wealthy Igbo sons and daughters as well as community development groups!

Igbo hater spotted. And yet the north has the country's poorest while they have been in power for over 40 yrs and Igbos never. In the north the money stolen from govt circulate amongst the rich .For One Igbo billionaire , 2000 Millionaire have been produced through Igba boy or serving your master in trading that is the reason Igbos have dominated trading and business in Nigeria.

Dumbo. This is not about the traditional Igbo custom you are referring to where some spare parts shop owner trains an underling and gives him some money after the 5 year apprenticeship.

This is an entirely different level of wealth transfer we are referring to here.

I was very surprised a couple of weeks ago when some Igbo traders in cellphones & accessories I inquired from categorically said igbos don’t help themselves, I was shocked.
