How do you expect Me, Allen Onyema from Mbosi, ABC Orjiako from Uli, E-Money & KCee from Uli, Obijackson from Okija, Dozzy oil from Okija, Emeka Ofor from Oraifite, Obi Cubana from Oba, my Nnewi entrepreneur brothers and a whole lot of us to be driving through the rickety narrow zigzag and overpopulated Obosi town road to meet Onitsha - Enugu expressway in order to use Anambra Airport? NO WAY. The only incentive for us to use Anambra Airport is either federal government or Obiano government to extend a clean expressway from the Oba interchange to Onitsha - Enugu expressway.
This is a sincere advice and Obiano should as a matter of urgency, importance and overriding public interest look into implementing my advice before he leaves office in March 2022. Our comfort and safety remains priority.
I confirmed from someone and I can assure you that the freeway through to the Second Nigeria does not have it's end point at Oba. It will go all the way to Nteje/Awkuzu axis where it will join the existing expressway. It's a Federal government job.

Thank you very much John. This is the type of answer I want to my suggestion. I pray the road construction continues to Onitsha - Enugu Expressway. It will give me maximum comfort and security when I and others start using the Anambra Airport. Enjoy your Sunday.

Thanks for the compliment smiley. I'm from Anambra, though I don't live there, I'm usually very interested in any thing going on there no matter how small. That's what keeps me checking through this place from time to time. If I see some questions about some ongoing constructions, there someone I can ask about it.

Believe whatever you feel like. You will still hear hear later that FG has awarded a contract for the construction of a highway from that point to Somewhere around Awkuzu. The current contract with JB is what terminates at where you mentioned.

I never said the project is hidden. If you search carefully through the internet, you might see something about it. But If you still wanna argue, keep it with yourself, no need mentioning me. I'm done.
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Nobody: 6:56pm On Jul 25, 2021
The second niger bridge doesn't terminate at the Owerri interchange. It spurs to the Enugu-Onitsha express way, not too far from the airport road junction. The road from the interchange to the express forms the phase 2b of the project. Phase 2a connects the bridge to the Benin-Asaba express. So it's not a project that can be abandoned, else the aim of bypassing Asaba and Onitsha will be defeated. Attached is the route map.

We all know GEJ's plan for the 2nd Niger bridge with a spur to enugu-onitsha expressway was jettisoned by Buhari's regime review of the project which opted for a simple bypass that connects Owerri road to Asaba-Benin expressway. Why that guy is turning and twisting to pretend they are implementing the old plan is what I'm still trying to decipher.

I'm not a fan of the present administration. But lets give honour to whom honour is due. The plan for the second Niger bridge was first proposed during the OBJ regime. Late President Yaradua moduled the project before his sudden demise and GEJ whom took after him, had 5 years to act upon it. He took to turn the project into campaign bait for SE votes. The project is presently on- going, thanks to the present administration.

For the specification of the model, the bridge is 1.6Km long with a 10.3km highway which runs from Owerri with an interchange at Oba, Anambra state and terminates at Asaba in Delta State.

Stop claiming to know when you dont.. The road will terminate at onitsha to owerri road..

If you have ever used obosi to nkpor junction road you will understand to dualise that road will be extremely expensive because lots of people's ancestral home will be demolished.. Besides its a state road... Except you mean fg want to create a brand new road from obosi to awkuzu..
When some of you guys talk online i wonder if you guys re really from Anambra..
I dont know why someone from Nnewi Ozubulu Ihiala will want to get to Onitsha because u re going to Umueri.

Phase 1 includes 1.6km bridge and 10.3km road to the interchange. Phase 2a (17.5km) links the Benin-Asaba express to the 10km road. Phase 2b (initially 17.5km but has been reviewed) links the interchange to the Enugu-Onitsha express.

As at today, the project cost is N414billion, of which Roads 2a and 2b will cost N208billion

Most of you assume every Igbo is a fan of Jonathan. Well, I'm not. I hate weaklings clinging to power. Likewise, I have nothing against Buhari. I commend Buhari for working on the bridge but the hard fact is that the bridge is funded by Jersey bank directly out of the Abacha loot. If not it would have since been like the Enugu-Onitsha expressway project he is building. Again I respect Buhari's decision only to look out for his own Fulani people. Which is okay since that is Nigeria for you.

All I'm saying is that there is totally no plan anywhere to extend the 2nd Niger bridge road to Enugu-Onitsha expressway. So why are you deliberately embarking on disinformation? If i didn't respect your moniker I would have just ignored it as one of those Fulani propagandists in nairaland who would blatantly post Kano or PH airport terminal building and claim it's the Enugu airport terminal completed and furnished by Buhari!

That is why I said that I was still trying to get to the bottom of your game plan by deliberately spreading false information. No credible source has ever cited that the road would reach Enugu-Onitsha expressway.

I had been wondering what the side tower in the Anambra Airport Fire Station was for?

Then I google Category 9 Airport Fire Stations, and realized they were required to have their own Fire Commander's tower at the fire station to be compliant with the requirements!

Wow! They are truly not cutting corners. They are sticking to international regulations and best practices.

According to Ajani, tolling is part of the contract agreement. He said: “The entire project is divided into three phases, the first phase, which is in process, is about 11 kilometres.

“The second phase is the access road at the Delta end of the bridge; the other is from Obosi up to Enugu- Onitsha Expressway.
“It is just like a bypass of Onitsha when completed, one will not have any business entering Onitsha. The other contracts are about to be awarded.

“It has been procured and just to mobilise the contractor, Julius Berger is on site, the other one will be the other side, and the bridge is at 55 per cent completion stage.”

Good. At the intersections of this planned road with Nkpor/Nnobi/Ekwulobia Road and Awka/Onitsha old Road, Anambra State government should make sure that the contractor(probably RCC) do not repeat the mistake of Julius Berger of doing single lane over-pass at Atani Road, by initiating plans to dualize these roads, that way RCC will do a double lane over-pass

Roads to dualize in Anambra:
Amawbia-Agulu-Ekwuloba-Uga Roads (with a flyover at Ekwulobia)
Nkpor-Nnobi-Ekwulobia (with a flyover at Nnobi)
Nnobi-Nnewi Roads ( This will be the route of least house demolition to open up Nnewi to dual carriage way)
Onitsha-Aguleri Road

This is the original plan which was to provide a bypass round Onitsha like Benin. The 17.5 km Onitsha link Road for phase 2b was awarded to RCC.

Obviously the Anambra international airport has met all the international standards and best practices. There's no reason there won't be direct flight from Anambra to Europe, Asia and even north America. Good
