Finally, Ogebe out.

AkinDS:
Its more of the Nigerian girls making the same mistake, trying to dribble around the keeper instead of making a square pass to a team mate. The keeper is already off her line and committed. Pass the freaking ball!!!

With this their selfish play, it would affect them against a decent team, they can't just pass to a better positioned teammate in front of goal..

Ezenagu with #5
Chipped the keeper and scored into open net.
Very impressive player.

They are not serious at all... And they are playing a poor team sef, I wonder what they'll play when they meet a decent team.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 8:53pm On Jul 27, 2021
This was a very disappointing performance by the girls, in terms of not being able to run up the score.
It really exposed their weakness and poor finishing up front.
Solid on the wings but very poor striker/finisher in Ogebe.

Abeg bring back Ugo Njoku. I would rather her to be a right back but what I saw today proves u can't hide class. Baby girl still got it.

Na only class we go chop?
The lady has lost a pace or two, due to added age and weight.
Football is not about gra-gra anymore. Its about speed of thought and play. She will struggle to cope in this day and age of International football.

Sounds like the home-based players are still afflicted with the disease of lack of football intelligence. Smh.
From the updates on the Rivers Angels game, here, I think it’s safe to say Waldrum would only consider inviting the talented midfielder and one or two of the wingers

U saw class from her today ? cheesy against amateur players why didn't she show class in the league and blow everybody away

Forget njoku and tell the coach about rinsola babajide
Schemerkhiz:

Ugo Njoku could have been Superfalcons greatest Right Back with the way she started at first but the hiatus from the team have really affected her game especially after coming back from France Croix Savoie Ambilly FC (2nd Division Clubside) at the end of the 2017/18 season. She added up a lot of weight and the international Friendly game against France in 2017 exposed her a lot cause she was looking so heavy and slow in pace.
Retuning from France she had a break from Football not until this 2020/21 season before she returned to Rivers Angels..
Having returned to Rivers Angels she started playing as a Center Back, probably were Coach Edwin Okon think is better for her right now..

Already told Coach Randy about her alongside Ebere Orji months ago, Let's see if she can work her way back...

Our Forward line is already looking so bulky, who's she going to bench? Considering playing from the left side on most occasions.
And again few of our Strikers (Oparanozie, Orji, Umotong) had returned to the team with Randy having a great time to look at them..

Ifeoma Onumonu is there too on Randy's plan who can fit in any position upfront, on a good day she's a could trouble any Solid Defence line..

Vivian Ikechukwu and Ezenagu did well from the wing, but the team still lack the basis..
Most of the Rivers Angels players have trained and played with the youth setup (Flamingoes, Super Falconets) I'm still wondering why they keep repeating same cheap mistakes..
Ogebe who i thought would have been the Key in the Forward line acted off a lot with her silly decisions after playing in Serbia and Spain and also with the Superfalcons, what did she really learn from playing in Europe?? Maybe I should say it's one of her bad days...

Wouldn't even think twice about dumping Orji and Umotong for Rinsola. Plays for a much more competitive league than those two and she has much greater upswing - those two ladies are closer to 30 than 20. Rinsola is 23 and is a MUCH better player than those 2. Willing to bet that she would compete for a start in the SF lineup, above your favorite, Uchenna Kanu.

Ugo Njoku is no longer the Ugo Njoku of those days, The Pace is no longer there to meet up with the demands of playing at the right back, she can't be defensively minded at all times, we need a Lucy Bronze kind of a full back which i can see in Patricia George and Michelle Alozie...

Right now Alozie is giving Okeke a tough time for who's going to own that spot. Let us allow this Ladies enjoy their time..

It's only Alozie who's strange to that full back Position unlike George who's an all round player just like America Crystal Dunn..

Don't even go there (Uchenna Kanu)
Have been following up with her games for long but still haven't seen what really impressed you in her game..

No problem let's see how she perform for Brighton this season in the WSL before I can make any move..

As for Uchenna Kanu, please don't go there..!

Orji and umotong are not world beaters they can be dropped easily and when scouting for the team do u always look out for best interest of players already in the team or you just recommend a better player when you see one ?

She a young player so she's still developing but you clearly over hype her a lot she's just a bench player for the super falcons

Rinsola is a very good Forward/Midfielder but right now I will put it to you that Uchenna Kanu is ahead of Babajide in this pecking order. Kanu a better goalscorer, assist.. Both do share similar qualities like the Pace, Strength and Skills, team play likewise...

Don't worry have got her and Ashleigh game's to cover up this season in the WSL including Midfielder Elisha Sulola of Charlton Athletic Women in the Championship. Her performance would definitely bring her in..

True, Rinsola is not needed. What we seriously need is Midfielders.

Sorry, which "more competitive league" does Rinsola play in? How is she a better player than the duo? Could you, please, roll out her accomplishments? What's the age difference between her and Ini Umotong?.. Just say, you like her, okay? For your information, Umotong and Uchenna are clearly better than her, as for Orji, I don't know.

U didn't understand me. I didn't say I want her at right back. I am not blind na but still she can be a great CB. She has the size and everything. U don't need to be a sprinter to play that position plus she has always been smart in her positioning. I think she was always going to play this position but it is just sooner than expected.

This game was truly Rivers Angels vs the Nigerien goalie grin As the commentator said, a Nigerian club should buy that goalie ASAP cos she truly prevented the Rivers ladies from recording a basketball scoreline grin

BTW, Vivian should be given a look-in by Waldrum. Yes, the opponents weren’t the greatest out there, but Vivian showed some desirable qualities in a winger.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 3:23pm On Jul 28, 2021
They need to give Rivers United a slot in the Buhari challenge. That would be perfect preparation for the CAF Champions League.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 3:58pm On Jul 28, 2021
Not sure I would...
Anyhow, this would make for good banter between us, as the season progresses wink.
Nonetheless, after watching Uche Kanu's performance at the 2019 WWC and the Turkish Invitational, I have since learned to temper my expectations of her.

Speaking of Elisha Sulola, good observation on your part. I have been monitoring her for quite a while now. She is young, very well built and has decent pace (my one concern about her).
She is still very young (just turned 20), but has a solid future in front of her. Recently moved permanently from Spurs to Charlton Athletic, after spending last season on loan with them. This will definitely enable her get more playing time - she pretty much walked into the Charlton Athletic lineup at 19 yrs, which is quite an accomplishment.

Vivian IS already a part of Waldrum's group. She played in the Summer series here in the US and featured against Jamaica (started) and Portugal (came in as a sub).
Herself and Demehin were intentionally left out of the Austria SF camp because of the WAFU B CL commitment with Rivers Angels.
