That's why I said you should read Genesis well. God did not create man and woman equally. He created woman out of man. His intention was not to make someone equal to him. Remember God first brought all the animals to Adam and when none could "fit" him he decided to create one out of the man himself. If equality was what God was after, he would not have brought four legged creatures to Adam to choose from. God made Adam the leader and tenderer of everything in the garden of Eden including Eve. For example, after they ate the apple, God did not call Adam and Eve to question but called Adam alone to account for the actions of both of them. Jesus Christ is God's New Covenant Law in the Kingdom of God and according to Him, and since we become members of His Kingdom even here on earth, it is included in His Law that marriage remains as defined by God in the beginning, this before God cursed man and woman for their sins against Him - Genesis 2 vs 24

2. The promise of the Kingdom of God belongs, not to those of the Old Covenant, but to those of the New Covenant and so when Jesus Christ was asked the question, He phrased His response in the context of the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom He came to bring to those who will believe in Him.

Let me break it down for you. God's curse on mankind after the fall is as follows
1. Man shall till the ground to eat. Before the fall, the plants grew of themselves.
2. Man shall die and return to dust. Before then, man was actually immortal
3. Woman shall have pain at childbirth
4. Man shall rule over the woman and the woman shall seek to please the man in all things
5. God drove them out of the garden of Eden

Now looking at all of the above, is there any of them which has stopped in the daily human experience to this day? If not, why do you then think Jesus has removed woman from under the "curse" of being under the man while the others are still potent?

I do understand the gospels very well. The question is if you understand it. Jesus Christ never equated a man to woman. In fact, he called the Pharisees attention to the fact that God never intended for a man to divorce his wife but Moses allowed it due to their stubbornness. He then went ahead to give his own conditions by which a man may divorce his wife. In other words, Jesus never said anything about the position of a woman with respect to a man.

Apostle Paul who further expounded on this subject in Corinthians used the example of Christ as the head of the church and the church being submissive to Christ to describe the relationship between a man and his wife.

Religious men can be really oppressive in matters concerning women. Most men and their pastors need to read their Bibles thoroughly, not only the places they like because it supports them, but even the most hidden reaches. Most women in such unions are miserable.

I'm always surprised to see that pastors read their Bibles and stop on that verse, and never go beyond it. Is it that loving ones wife isn't important? Isn't it as much a commandment as they feel the submission verse is? The men who refuse to read beyond that are in the same danger they feel women who aren't submissive are.

This is one of the reasons I stopped listening to pastors. They are too lopsided in their reading and interpretation of the Bible. Most of the time it is because it tickles their fancy.
