Dear Nairalanders,

This info is for those in Abuja .....

Incase you need to be vaccinated, be informed that vaccination is currently ongoing at FCT Primary Health Board, Area 3, Garki, Abuja.....

I just took the first dose, I spent just about 30mins there and I was done, no queue.

You are right, I just left there. I have completed my vaccine.

Both doses are being taken there.

Hope this helps.... It will all end in praise !!!

Wawu! A new thread. Congratulations to all those who have received their PPRs, may Canada favour you all. To all those who were delayed, please do not give up, order your GCMS notes (if you have not done so already), address the issues raised and reapply.

Here to give my Landing Gist o.. as e dey hot.

School: Mcmaster University, Hamilton Ontario

Flight Details: Lufthansa, 21st August

Covid test: I did my Pre-departure PCR test with Medicaid in Ibadan on Thursday 19th August, 2021. The results were sent to my mail in the early hours of Saturday, 21st August.

ArriveCAN: After confirming negative PCR test, I downloaded the ArriveCAN app on my mobile phone & answered all the questions asked (flight details, passport information, vaccination status, PCR test results, quarantine plans etc.). After completing the form, I took a screenshot of the ArriveCAN receipt for future reference.
** Because somebody here already advised to register at the Switch Health Website if you will be landing in Toronto, as it makes the pre arrival testing process faster, I also did this. You can register here https://www.switchhealth.ca/en/travel/pearson/ **

Documents: Before heading to the airport, I printed the following documents:
• PCR test result
• Enrolment letter
• Study Permit Approval Letter
• Proof of Tuition payment
• Acceptance letter
• Bank statements
• Rental agreement for where I will be staying during the 14 days quarantine

Check-in /Boarding process: I arrived at MMIA Lagos at about 4pm. I travelled with my boo and we had a total 4 check in bags, 2 cabin luggage as well as our back packs.
Upon entry in the airport, we were directed to the customs officials, who asked us what we have in our bags. Of course this was where we started being billed. LOL!
After this, we went to weigh our luggage. The weight limit for check in luggage was 23kg each. While that of cabin luggage and backpack were 8kg and 4kg respectively. All 4 of our check-in luggage were between 23.5kg and 24.5kg. Cabin luggage and backpacks were way above the limits but the person in charge was gracious enough to give us a pass sha. wink
** I was kuku expecting the person that will come and tell me to pay 6k for yellow card. So, I can use him or her to catch cruise. Alas, nobody showed up. **
Then we went for document verification. I was asked for my negative PCR test results, Passport as well as my enrolment letter. Because my enrolment letter did not state my date of resumption (September 7), I was asked for my class schedule and then I was cleared for boarding. We sha chilled in the airport till we boarded the flight at about 10pm.

Flight/Stopover: During the stopover in Frankfurt, I went through another document verification process where I tendered my negative PCR test results and my boarding pass.
If you will have a long layover in Frankfurt, you can take advantage of their Hollywood booths where you can watch selected movies for free. I slept wella here!!
Abeg, the flight to Toronto was very very bumpy and the guy seating behind me kept using his legs to push my chair. I almost changed it for the guy o embarassed.

Arrival in Canada: I did a self-verification which involved scanning my passport and answering some questions about purpose of visit, vaccination status, expected duration of stay in canada etc. Then a receipt was printed, which I had to use throughout the arrival process.
There were some very strict officers o. Telling people to stand aside and all. One girl was even sent back to the queue because she wasn’t wearing her mask properly. Me I was sha praying o, because I didn’t escape Buhari just to be sent back at POE. When it was my turn, I was asked for the receipt (from the self-verification process), my passport, purpose of visit, school & course name, vaccination status, enrolment letter, Arrivecan receipt, proof of accommodation for quarantine etc. Then I was told to go.
This part was funny, because I had seen the officers giving a paper to some people when they leave and I assumed this was the study permit. So, when the lady said I could go, I was like is that all? (In my mind, “Ogbeni, where is my study permit now?”) But turns out the paper was like a pamphlet for vaccinated people.
After this, I was separated from bae, because he is a PR. Then I was directed to another set of officers who actually issue the study permit. I was asked for my passport & acceptance letter, how much of tuition I have paid, where I will be quarantining etc. and then my study permit was given to me!!!
I went to get my luggage. I actually waited for my luggage for almost an hour. They kept apologizing for the delay through the PA system but luggage no come out. This was quite frustrating sha. After finally receiving my luggage, I went for the arrival PCR test. Guys!! This is where the registration at the switch health website is important o. If you see the long queue, I avoided just because I told them I was already registered. In-fact the whole testing process did not even take up to 10 minutes. So please, register at the website before travelling.

I know my gist is long but you people should manage it like that grin

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by annylove1: 3:05pm On Aug 30, 2021
Good day everyone, I am new here although I have read a few pages already.
I would like to ask for advise and help especially from Frankrobbin and Lekkibobie as I have been coming across both names.
I would like to pick a course that befits my profile and then apply for the visa.
I have a Bsc in environmental science and Masters in environmental management, my masters degree is professional hence it is not accepted for Phd studies. I also have basic HSE 1-3 certifications
I have work experience in sales, customer service, marketing, management and very little experience in HSE
I run a fashion business currently and I have been on it for 6 years and counting after leaving the 9-5 job
I would either want to go for masters in environmental science, occupational safety as this is my educational background or a business degree because my experiences so far has been in business
I have good travel history if that counts for anything
I would also like to know if my Dad can be a co-sponsor
I am 31 and single.

Awaiting responses from the gurus in the house. Thanks

Why do people go through the needless risk and additional expense (no matter how infinitesimal)? In the best likely case, Abuja would be a week faster than Lagos, and so? People that have been waiting for months can't endure a week?

Forget insurance, what if fire, misplacement, damage or robbery happens to the documents while in transit to or fro Abuja... How do you want to explain your story? Besides, the longer your travel date is from your booking date, the cheaper the ticket would be. So why not chill and join your class online for few days if necessary, since you already have PPR?

This is just my own humble view point and shared perspective. The advantage of passport being sent to Abuja does seem not to hold water, if you think about it well. If it was the IRCC/VFS that misplaced or damaged your travel document (not courier or any other third party), which is very rare, then you can be rest assured that they will make up for it by temporarily issuing you a travel letter that will allow you into Canada whilst they follow your acquisition of a re-issued Nigerian passport in Canada both by correspondence and financing.

I can only hope I've made sense to one or two people. The race is definitely not for the swift.

Timeline: Long Post Alert!!!

I actually typed some of this in faith on 27th July in anticipation of PPR cheesy thank God I get to post it now.

First Time applicant. Virgin passport sef
Got admission for a funded program in Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia for an LLM. The scholarship was just enough to cover my school fees though, so I was still left to provide funds for living expenses.
Admission tips: I actually followed Dr. Linda Iheme's you tube tips on getting scholarship programs. I am glad it worked out on my first trial.

I gathered the necessary documents I needed. My only problem became proving my funds for living expenses. I got a Deed of gift from my dad of about 12k CAD which would technically be the major fund in my account upon the transfer of the cash. That was my fear throughout the entire wait. But what I ensured, courtesy of the free advice being thrown around in this forum, was that I proved hat my husband and I were established in our own way. I submitted my Husband’s travel history, his Cac documents, my salary account, my identification as a Lawyer etc. I just wanted to pass the message that I am not relying entirely on my father, that my husband "who I refused to show his account statement" is still capable of supporting me. I backed all this up with lots of prayers, Rosary and Novenas and a well structured SOP. I am good at writing. Thank you. Did I mention I also wrote my father's letter of support and my husbands spousal consent letter where I wrote from their point of view all geared towards giving a firm foundation to the buildings I erected in my SOP? My only problem became the uploading part. Unfortunately, I am not tech savvy at all, and I can't help it. Luckily, I got the help of someone I contacted from here "Blavkmaan I hail o" who helped with all those compressions and uploading stuff. Not without discarding some of my 'prized' documents o which he deemed as unnecessary. And then, the wait began...

In all, I give all Glory to God who have deemed me worthy to enter an international flight for the first time. See you all in Canada! Much love from here

Docs submitted In addition to those listed up:
Client info:
Admission letter
LLB Certificate
BL certificate
Letter of past introduction from my Lawyer ( it was for this purpose, for obvious reasons)
Sample of my Lawyer's stamp to indicate active practice of Law.
Proof of fund:
My SOA
Funding letter
A fixed deposit certificate from where I spinned the narrative that my father fixed the stated sum in anticipation of my admission. The money was transferred the next day after the collapse of the deposit to my account and i pointed it out on my SOA. I didnt show my dad's SOA though.
Home Ties:
Marriage certificate.
Son's birth certificate
I also indicated my shares in my husband's CAC documents. Nevermind the company is not active o wink

Thank you all for your active support and advice on this forum. Especially JustMellow, Blavkmaan, Frank robben etc
Finally, i did this entire process myself, from admission to PPR courtesy of this group. We have a treasure here guys, let's make maximum use of it and for those with PPR already, let's keep the thread alive by giving back to what made us.

Oh, for those still waiting, goodluck guys, it will go round. Don't underestimate your emails and webforms. It worked for me cos trust me, I bombarded them this past two weeks though none of it ever got acknowledged.

Please pardon all typos.

Congratulations. It’s not by power or might, but by his grace.

Lol at opinion (like you kept yours to yourself). You seem very wise with your self as you clearly prefer to wait for a potential risk to crystalize before mitigating against it. Funny guy!
