You should always ask questions before descending into emotional rants.
Ask them what they did 12 years ago to make them lose access to electricity.
Actions have consequences.

No.
This is not a case of irresponsible leadership.
The blame lies squarely with the people.
Electricity is not free that is a fact but the people think they can get it for free by introducing
elements of violence.
Since BEDC is a private company, the only reason they wouldn't supply electricity if they know
they can't get paid or safety issues.

Do you know the number of transformers, cables and subsations that were vandalized by so-called
protesters?

Some of these "protesters" even sometimes destroy NEPA infrastructure out of envy of neighboring towns
with electricity to spread misery.

If the town leaders traditional and political can hold a meeting and guarantee the safety of NEPA equipment and staff as
well as pay for the damages that was caused by "angry youths", electricity will be restored asap.

No region in Ondo South demand to live on free electricity. PHCN predate BEDC and there was light in the region. The current situation be isn't restricted Okitipupa alone. It spread across four local government. Who told you the protesters were vandals. The protest for power restoration was a product of consultation and mobilization. Sometime, the clergy were involved in the rally. At no time did the protesters resorted to vandalism

Okay...that one is a general issue.

If you had actually taken time to read, digest and comprehend the opening sentence in my article, you should have understood that the issue I raised was not particular to the people of OKITIPUPA.

It's you that should re-read what you wrote.
I refuse to engage you on this.

Op, don't say anything about what you know nothing about. I'm from Okitipupa. That's my home town. Our people caused what they are facing with electricity now. Back in the days, Okitipupa has the best electricity services in ondo state. They refused to pay for power. Then had a major issue with the then NEPA which forced the federal government to disconnect the entire town.
Fast forward to 6 months later, they had a major riot about the issue and thugs burnt all the transformers in the town, burnt all the NEPA offices in the town and even killed some staffs that year. After that, they were totally ignored.
Even now that electricity have been privatized. BEDC who is in charge of power in ondo state asked the people of the town to pay 50% of what they owe and they will help restore power to the town but they refused. Claiming they must see power before they pay any money. Now the town has no hope of ever having power cuz BEDC vowed not to spend millions of naira to restore all the damages if there is no guarantee that they will get their money back.
The governor cannot even intervene since electricity is now in private hands. We are facing a lot of issues with BEDC at the moment and that's down to the fact that the company is owned and controlled by some stupid Benin people.
What tribe dominate that community?

We don't have light for good 6yrs now
That is understandable... Besides not everywhere in DSC. The areas with the outage are reluctant to meet the demands of BEDC.

My brother please get your facts, 90% of Okitipupa are civil servants and I can tell you back then almost everyone do pay there bills, what really happened was an intentional increase in the NEPA bill which people went against infact the NEPA Officials will come to your house to threaten you in your domain after you have paid what you ought to pay. For example, in my house after paying for last month the following month they came to check my meter to my surprise the bill was 3× of what I paid the previous month. Stop blaming the people it was an intentional thing from the mimiko government and also the filling stations owned by politicians also make sure that it was actualized. I stayed in okitipupa and as I'm typing I'm still in okitipupa. We have been to omotosho power plant to meet there MD one on one all they say is we will be connected on phaseII. Try and get your fact please. Even some areas in okitipupa uses electricity, places like Specialist Hospital, Kings Palace and some areas around irinje Road. Make your inquiries.

During my stay in Ore there was no light there for a year. Seems like Ondo have electricity issues.

I am from Ondo town. I am even in town now. Let me speak like someone on the ground.

The power supply in Ondo town is poor. My part of town gets power for like 5 hours a day. The small town my grandfather founded, Bolorunduro, has been without power for about 10 years.

To get a better idea of the power situation in Ondo state, look no further than the local Disco, BEDC. All the states they control- Delta, Edo, Ekiti, and Ondo State-all complain of lousy power provisions. They should be one of the worst Discos in the country. They don't seem to give a damn about their customers.

Anyway, their side of the story needs to be heard. Nevertheless, I'm sure other Discos are going through the same constraints but are more generous with power supply.

If the Disco controlling Yobe and Bornu can provide 24 hours power supply despite an insurgency, it leaves a very bad taste in the mouth the pitiful performance of BEDC in the states they serve, no matter their grievances.

In case like this, the electric copper wires have been stolen. Like may be some kilometres long o.
Thats most probably the reason.

Failure of the government.

Failure of the government when citizens steal copper wires. Innocent citizens. Same government failed when some lots were uprooting rail tracks?

Look inwards....
