Yeah, we Igbos will continue with a name attached to a British officers girlfriend that has since become poverty capital of the world, third most terrorised country on earth and 147 most corrupt nation on earth

Yeah, I can see why a lot of people would love to be part of such a lovely country grin

It's funny how you people try to extricate yourself from any negative thing about this country but ironically still live in and enjoy the goodness of the same country.

What remains is to dump the name Biafra cos we hinterland Igbos can't be bearing a name given by Protuguese sailors.
Suggest names...

I'm thinking of "Mba Ọsa Oke Igbo"
Empire of Great Igbo

We can't condemn Lugard for giving us a name and still choose a name given by Portuguese sailors, how then are you better than Nigerians?
Moreover we hinterland Igbos have no direct connection to Birth of Biafra since those who live by the Coast of Biafra said they are not interested in forming a country with us.It is like the Serbs of Serbia retaining Yugoslavia after the disintegration of that country or Russia retaining USSR as her name after the colapse of the union. It does't make sense.Biafra only makes sense when all the people of old Eastern region are involve.Opugo that suggested that name to Ojukwu is from Bayelsa and him people say they no do again, why must you continue with it even when we nolonger have access to the birth of Biafra as a ressult of Ijaw pullout from the union?

Interesting.
This where we need a strong well funded Aggressive Igbo nationalism movement, to reach out to such individuals, oil their palms if need be, do some community projects in the community and Mount a sign board indicating that it was done by an Igbo body in the spirit of Igbo brotherhood.
Simple things like renovation of their dilapidated community primary and secondary school, providing chairs that would have logo and Igbo tag well printed on it.
These things are not hard, the only thing missing is the purposeful leadership.
You've got good ideas... But why are they not going anywhere? undecided

It seems you checked up Comr. Anthony Okorie.

Nwagozu, Okorie : This is an Igbo community all through. Interestingly the Isoko continued to claim this communities as theirs through one unscrupulous Isoko monarch in a neighboring community.
Isoko is another ethnicity that's eyeing Ukwualị territories both in Delta and Bayelsa States.

Predominantly this and that... Which means that there'd be minorities.
Bayelsa is predominantly Ijo, urhobo and isoko.. with Igboid minorities from the Ukwualị and Ẹkpẹyẹ tribes.
Please don't kill yourself over this fact kiss

That's the true history of Izon.
They were described by the Portuguese as the "people of jos".
Ijaw claim to originating from Nigeria is hinged on indigenous tribes like Obulom, Udekeme, Ogbia, etc they met on ground and linked themselves with.
But all those indigenous groups have languages fitting into the indigenous YEAII language of Southern Nigeria or the Cross- River cluster language group.
Whereas Izon language sticks out like a malignant cell with no link to these groups.

You could not be more correct with the bolded. The people the Portuguese called "People of jos" were not Ijaw but people who lived along the river banks in the delta.

Can we form an Igbo outreach group made up of proud Igbos of Nairaland that would be a vehicle for reconnecting Igbo clans across Nigeria?

Supremos has forwarded this recommendation. I support and if I have the backing I will go ahead to create an Outreach page. What do you all think?

Ekealterego, gidgiddy, pass11, Ariani and others too numerous to mention.

The Ukwualị territories include three southern anịọma LGs of Ukwualị, Ndokwa East and West.
You're not from the Igbo ethnic Nation so how'd a thief like you know why they answer what they answer. undecided
The next agenda now is to merge those Ukwualị territories in Sagbama LG back to Ndokwa East kiss
