Does this mean one can't use his or her savings account with very little outflow?

makano:
Hello Snow

Since you said you have nobody to sponsor you which I don't really understand, If you have enough money to sponsor your education in Canada, then you can be a self sponsored applicant... But there is more to being Self sponsored, do you have dependents, do you have assets in your home country, apart from your studies, do you have more than enough to cater for your other expenses, also do you have a solid inflow and outflow of transactions in the past months?

Remember Visa officers do not just look at the closing balance, they also check the transaction history of the statement of account submitted to know if the inflow and outflow of the Self sponsored applicant is convincing enough...

Peace..

Thank you, I already went through Memorial university and they require C6 for admission
So i will start with them first and check the rest.

Akanoa:

Hello with regards to the WAEC, there is no need for any evaluation, Canadian colleges and universities accept it. All you need to do is to attach a copy of your WAEC result and also provide your WAEC student number and a valid WAEC scratch card pin so that they can verify your result.
With regards to your English grade. Honestly I'm skeptical whether you will be able to gain admission into computer science with your grades but not withstanding give it a try. If possible write IELTS to boost your chances. If you took SAT also, attach the result. All the best.

Living expenses is in my acc, remaining will be in my sponsor's.
Showing the statement i used for visa app should be okay now, will they expect me to print the latest, a month to traveling...

They will expect to see the latest so, ensure there are sufficient funds in it. Since living expenses will be in yours, then there should be enough for the payment of a 1-year fee.

Hi Congratulations on your PPR and may God continue to favour you.
I applied on the 15th of May and the only update I’ve gotten is i passed my medicals . My eligibility started over 2months ago and still nothing. Many times i try to email nairobi but I honestly do not know what to say and i get scared as well. Please can i see a sample of the email you sent? I’m really tired and anxiety is getting the best of me. I’ve tried reaching out to the gurus since i joined this platform but I haven’t gotten any response, i guess they are busy. Please I’ll appreciate it if you can post a sample or screenshot of the email you sent. Thanks

So my journey started literally in February lmao. I had no idea i was going to school in Canada until my aunt in the US started pushing my dad to allow me. So long story short he agreed and i wrote ielts in april, got a 7.0 band. Then the process began.

Application Submitted - May 19th 2021
Biometrics- done since 2016 (I’ve had multiple canada visiting visas).
Upfront medical - May 13th
Medical Passed - May 21st
Eligibility review - Never started
BVL - October 7th
PPR - October 7th

Documents submitted
All Required IMM forms
Admission letter and first year school fees payment proof.
Passport photograph
International passport showing my past Uk,US, Canada visiting visas.

My parents were my sponsors and my aunt in the UK was my co sponsor. She wrote me a letter of sponsorship saying she will take care of my living expenses for the two years I’ll be studying.

I submitted the following;

Father’s 6 months bank statement with a 2m naira balance
My mums 4 months salary account statement with literally 0.12 naira lol. But she had an inflow of about 60 million.
My mums letter of introduction from her bank stating I’m her son and she earns 18 million a year.
Her payslips
Her investments and shares
My dads promotion letters (works with immigration)
His id card
His payslips
His land documents
His investments and shares
His pension statement (9 million naira)
My aunt in the UK’s 1 year bank statement with a balance of 20,000 pounds
Letter of support for my living expenses from my aunt
My aunts UK passport and Drivers license
Pictures of my aunt and dad when they were little to show proof of relationship, birth certificate to show proof as well.

I sent my aunts proof of relationship documents through webform in august. I literally forgot to add them when I applied.

Affidavit of sponsorship (father and mother)
SOP
Police clearance
Birth certificate
Father’s birth certificate
Mother’s birth certificate
Siblings birth certificate (2)
My whole family’s passports showing their past visas.

I also renewed my passport in September and got my new letter of acceptance since I deferred to January. sent those through webform.

I literally gave up yesterday and sent an email to nairobi asking for an update. After I sent that email I vowed to never check my profile again lmao and here i am today.

Please guys don’t give up and thanks to all the gurus that gave me information.
I’m happy I found Nairaland and hope you all waiting for ppr will get it this week Amenn!!

Good day seniors, please I need your advice on the program of study in Canada. I have a BSc. and MSc. In chemistry. I have been teaching chemistry for about 6 years after graduating MSc. I wish to study in Canada, but unfortunately, my grades are not good enough for a Ph.D. I'm considering a program in chemical laboratory technology. The problem is that this program is not offered as pgd but as a diploma. Do you think this is a good option? I intend to explain in my statement of
explanation that I have chosen this because it will equip me with the hands-on experiments needed to be a better science teacher as well as help me explore the practical aspect of chemistry and science in general as it comprises of some course that I have not studied such as microbiology, biochemistry. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated regarding my chance of getting the visa. Ps: teaching experience is abroad. Many thanks

Please, help me

Hi

While you await a response to your queries,

THESE ARE MY OWN SUGGESTIONS FOR YOU

To your first question, you might need to do some research on schools offering Business and Marketing programs at PH.D Level that don't require GMAT.

If there are schools that insist you need GMAT, you can try write a REQUEST FOR A GMAT WAIVER to the Graduate Coordinator or Admission Manager of the program, see the link below for a;

Sample Letter to waive GMAT in CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES (Avoid Plagiarism to the bare minimum)
https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/99#90667909

If your GMAT REQUEST LETTER is convincing to them, it might be waived for you.

As regards IELTS for admission purpose, if you are a Nigerian, you don't need it, cos they know Nigeria is an English Speaking Country, the IELTS in admission requirements of Canadian Universities (DLI) are for Non-English speaking countries e.g Vietnam, Indian , Philippine etc.

If the school in Canada one way or the other require an ENGLISH PROFICIENCY from you, get a LETTER OF CONFIRMATION OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LETTER (TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN FORMAT) from the THE SCHOOL YOU DID YOUR M.SC AND B.SC in NIGERIA. In a situation whereby you can't get both, at least try to get one of them, it would suffice. This letter can be gotten from your SCHOOL REGISTRAR in the senate or better still go to the EXAM AND RECORDS OFFCIE they should be able to guide you on how to get the letter

FOR SCHOLARSHIP,
If you are interested in doing your PHD in BUSIINESS ANALYTICS RESEARCH AREA or AREAS
https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/556#104551146

You can also apply the contents in the link above to your PROSPECTIVE RESEARCH AREAS IN OTHER BUSINESS FIELDS AND MARKETING

That being said, take your time and do thorough research on the below PHD programs (OPOOOOR!!!!) and check their faculty for their Business and Marketing Professors, then connect with them based on your RESEARCH AREA (FOCUS) as it aligns with their Areas of Research, publications, projects etc., cos you need to be accepted by a professor (supervisor) before you can begin your PHD ADMISSION APPLICATION

Lots of point and kill PHD Programs for you in Canada, so do your due diligence and try not to put all your eggs in one basket i.e Make sure you try all the programs, schools by contacting professors as much as you can, cos you wouldn't know the one that's gonna give you scholarship opportunity or opportunities, but note that, 76% of PHD PROGRAMS in CANADA if not all are SCHOLARSHIP EMBEDDED (FULLY-FUNDED)

As regards your second question, await response from the gurus and other members of this platform

Good luck!!!

@Lekiboboe, thanks i am new on this forum but have reading most of your responses. please i need your help on which schools/colleges can a female doctor apply for a PGD Public Health or Hospital Management in Hamilton or Ontario Canada which the tuition is not too expensive and a PGDWP. thank you.

Please anyone going to Canada should be get their covid 19 vaccine card and scan the barcode attached to it via qr scanner to indicate you have been vaccinated at least twice. And also have your covid 19 test result 72 hours to ur departure in Nigeria. To avoid stories that touch oh. Very important.

Good Morning All,

Please i will like to know
1. if statement of account generated personally by me via my online banking platform can be used for study permit or i will have to visit my bank for it and ensure one of the heads signs it , so as to prove the authenticity?

2. in the statement of account, am i allowed to circle out lump sum i explained in SOP, so as to call the VO attention to them.
3. Can i use the the information page of my recently lost passport (expiring Nov 2022) to apply for study permit? while i wait for the new one that is being processed , so that when it arrives, i can then upload it to them.

Gurus, abeg make una help me oooo. January no far again.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Omiinii: 11:28am On Oct 10, 2021
1. I believe the one from the bank has the manager's signature. So it's more credible I'm not sure. But it's better to just generate a MBS from your app. Send it to the embassy directly and send the ticket ID and password to them. That is the most credible and reliable way to show proof of funds for now.

2.If you have lump sum you want to explain you can make a difference LOE for it. Makes everything neat and organized. It's not something you'll explain in just 5 lines so a different letter to address it is preferred. You will just state when and where the funds came from, the whole gist behind it sha and back everything you say with verifiable documents. This part is very important.

3. I think you should wait for a new especially if you've reported to immigration that you've misplaced the old one. I don't know if there are implications to using a non existent passport and I'd rather you not find out incase it might affect your application negatively.

Thanks a lot for the reply, i only know GT bank has a platform to send bank statement direct to embassy but i use first bank and Polaris. i will be glad to know if anyone has used 1st bank and Polaris app to generate a bank statement and send directly to embassy.

If i get your right with regards to the lump sum, you are saying it is possible to submit two SOP. I am a first time applicant ie mine is SOP,
One for the general explanation, the other for the lump sum.
