Even when I was working in a bank, I usually get mails to explain how a certain amount of money entered into my account. I had to ask my friend whose department is responsible for this tracking and he explained to me that their is threshold that once I exceed it it will alert the department and all I have to do is explain the source of income and once they are satisfied I am free.

So let your friend explain and show them evidence and that’s all.

Though I may not have the full gist but I would not doubt the story. I transferred 100k at once to some someone using the bank and they reversed it. The person later sent me the message Kuda sent saying that they rejected the money coming into his account. That the sender should send the money in bits. Imagine a bank rejecting inflow and asking to receive the money in bits. I ended up transferring the money in 2 tranche of 50k.
So imagine I was now sending 500k in tranches, that is enough to flag the account as suspicious even though it is Kuda's fault. Kuda should get their acts together unless they will bite the dust. I kuku don cancel the bank.

You people talk like you know it all. First, I am not defending this guy due to the fact that we are currently facing the menace of Yahoo boiz, ATM theft which I was a victim of like 3 months ago.
Access bank is still shielding the identity of the fraudster up till this moment. All my mail requesting for documents that was needed to have access to the footage of the withdrawal by the fraudster were not replied. No thanks to CBN for their lack of interest in my case.
In a nutshell, wether that guy is a fraudster or legit husler o e no concern EFCC because as a young man living in this hell called country you are automatically a fraudster for possessing such amount.

Kuda is that a bank that efcc opened to extort the youth ? I can never patronize any products or services advertised by any Nigerian celeb . It is eye service that will make any one want to use Kuda,abeg,Enaira etc . Be careful of the app you use

In your case, the person that you are sending money to does not have an ID card attached to his account. He opened the account with just BVN so he can only receive 50k at a time. It's the same with all bank. It's called a tier 1 account.

Imagine if your bank called EFCC every time you make or cash out a large sum......Explaining is not the problem, the problem is the EFCC involvement over a measly sum like 800k.

Do you know if the 800k was paid out of a compromised account? The OP has not provided the full story. Freezes are common, reporting to the efcc is highly unusual and something must have warranted it.

Something is definitely fishy. No bank would call EFCC or any government agency on their customers unless EFCC is already investigating the account and the bank like Kuda have no choice except to comply with investigation.

From experience, it isn't about the amount. His brother probably received funds from an illegitimate source and it was traced to his account. Not every alert is a good one

CBN only allows police/efcc report on account that doesn't receive huge figure regularly but receives 5million instantly..

This is the fact. All banks are looking for deposits. The source of that fund is definitely dubious and under investigation by EFCC that was why the customer was handed over to them.

Simple. EFCC doesn't investigate cases unless there's a definite wrongdoing on the part of that customer or someone likely reported the matter to EFCC based on likely fraud.
