Whatever you do, make sure you go to school and graduate with a good result. Contrary to popular naija opinion, school is not a scam. At least, not yet anyway. Your barbing skills should save you when you are low on cash as it is a skill that is in demand everywhere not to talk of a student environment. Nothing stopping you from doing all that you want, it only requires wisdom and patience because young people of nowadays are always in a hurry, that's why they crash and burn. Nothing stopping you from being a jack of all trades, master of most all.

XOXO,

Wayward Pikin.
Tar! All of you with this slave mindset. Will school determine his future? I'm damn sure you didn't even go to school else you will know that education doesn't necessarily mean attending a university. Spits!

PS: School na scam.

And you feel you can't learn blockchain while schooling?. Once you put your mind to it, school would not distract you. I know people who made shit load of cash from side hustle while schooling at the same time. Go to school bro.

I will advice you to continue barbing for 1 more year, make all the savings you can and start your own barbing shop where you can employ others. Then go ahead with your university education. Forget forex for now. It's not as rosy as they paint it.

How can you work for 15hrs daily and make only 40k monthly? Are you cutting your customers hair for free?

The cheapest haircut anywhere in Nigeria currently is N400, if you cut 10 people in a day..that's 4k. Working 15hrs...you must cut more than 10 hairs unless you are idle in most of the hours.

For fvck's sake don't close the barbershop. If there's free time within the 15hrs, use it to do other things or get barbers to assist you while you engage in a supplementary source of income, but ensure you stay at the shop and monitor your business. Don't leave or lease your shop to anyone...

You can do part time school and still be doing your barbing job + learning other skills at spare times, except you have somebody to sponsor ur school outright .

Education is very important, if you can school and learn altogether better. But don't ever drop out of school

Hi
Thank you for opening this post. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated!

I am barber, just turned 19 few weeks ago and I am supposed to start my uni education tomorrow but that is not the problem.

I earned upwards of 40... Maybe 60k most of which I aid my siblings with. But it's too demanding, like 14 or 15 hours a day everyday. And I have some skill trading forex but I don't do it now.

Right now I want to drop barbing and possibly school to learn blockchain development. My mom will prolly take me for deliverance. Lol.
I am buying a laptop tomorrow. Already dropped social media, right now its just Reddit and NL.

I am greatly worried about my future and tired of living inna trap.

I remember learning about Bitcoin like 7 years ago but couldn't get in till this year.

My parents can give moral advice but I need you on this one. Thanks

No man, I think you are missing it. You spent 15 year doing the forex stuff without any result doesn't mean is a bad business.
I spent 4 year learning forex and I am doing great. Believe me, no business or job can pay you more than trading forex, stocks, commodities, synthetics or cryptocurrencies.
The question is, did you have what it takes to trade forex?
some Nigerians has poor mentality when it comes to trading. Before you can succeed here( trading forex) you must :
1) Have the right education/information about forex as job/sector itself which include studying from forex 101, good strategy to engage the market, having a proper risk management system in place, have a trading plan you will stick to.
then, be focused, discipline and patient.
2) Psychology: Forex is 90% psychology and 10% skill.
3) Patience, patience, patience;
how do you engage the market? how do you engage the market? what is your risk tolerance level?
4) you must have a zero tolerance for greed.
Nigerians are too greedy. They want to earn it all at once. No! have a realistic target weekly and engage the market.
I teach, coach and mentor individuals willing to take forex as a means of life. you don't need to pay me any thing to get the knowledge. just send a text message if you are interested.

Money dey blockchain oo my guy, cool money, you may not get a job as fast as you may anticipate but the moment you get it, you and bank manager na the same salary una go dey collect grin. What am I saying focus on building yourself throughout the journey and leave out the journey and don't of overwhelm yourself with how much you can make.

The parents are a big problem in our life sometimes.

ETH co-funder Vitali Buterin, drop out of college for blockchain technology. Today he is Billionaire in dollars, his work is available in the university as a subject.

If Vitali is a son of black parents like Nigerians, just guess what would have happened when the guy dropped out of school.

You will hear all sorts of stories from pastors and imams.

If you are good at what you want to do go-ahead.

While you are studying blockchain technology, start or continue to trade.

you may want to install xumm app on your phone and sologenic dex on your laptop, check twitter for available airdrops, it is free. from there, we get your startup capital.

Go into blockchain dev with your full chest, give it your all, be dedicated and serious with it. In no time, you'll be glad you made this decision. The blockchain and crypto field is a white field ready to be harvested, only the smart and proactive ones will get a chunk of that harvest.

You can do all together with time and dedication. Don't rush it . Please go to school. That shouldn't be compromised . You don't have to be the best in your class or anything , just go to school acquire knowledge and make lots of contacts. Walk with likeminds like yourself and you will achieve more . One of the Best thing out of school is the people you will meet.

If you have a laptop and active Internet, your learnings with be easier.

Barbing could be a side hustle.
Don't be greedy, don't compare yourself with others. Be contented.

Doing all these together makes you an HUSTLER. This is king of HUSTLING we are talking about, not some shady, fraud or drug dealings.

You are still young . You have plenty time. I sincerely respect your hustle man. It is a motivation to other youths. Please keep it up and you will see how far you will go.

Don't be greedy, don't compare yourself with others ,live withing your means, Go legit!
