It seems you’ve not done medicals .. so you can either request for medical or do it upfront.
Upfront is done because of short time I think but you might not know your fate either while when you request if the VO find you eligible he/she will send you a medical instructions letter which is 90% approval. I didn’t do upfront but it might be difficult to get a close date when you get the medical instructions letter but you’ll definitely get a date if you go to the hospital with your instructions letter.
Good luck

Thanks for your response Pinkkiss. I have booked a date in Janary next year for upfront medicals. Should i attach the document sent to me by Qlife on that space. If not whatelse am i expected to attach to that space pls

Hello Patrick

This is straightforward..

IRCC does not believe you have the required funds for your study and expenses..

They feel you sponsor is not capable to sponsor you..

You hid the figures, that would have helped for further advise to your query..

But in all work on your funds and your sponsor should work on his commitment..

Peace

After 69 days, my GCMS notes just arrived.

If you were in my shoes, how will you tackle this?

Your inputs will be very much appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation.

After rescheduling Egyptair flight from 18th to 3rd Dec at huge expense, still got caught up! Sad but what to do? Next step is to strategize…
Can I still use Egypt air if I decide to leave from a neighbouring country considering that Egypt is also included in the ban. What are the chances that other west African countries won’t be included in the next 2 weeks? To think I’ve gotten my permit almost 5 months ago..It’s well.

Omo this one would be hard oo cos Egyptair can't fly anywhere without passing through Cairo, Egypt to the final destination. I will suggest you go to their office and let them advice accordingly. Also it would be very good if you booked directly from them incase of refund unlike 3rd party agents such as wakanow and travelbeta, refund is always very hard from them.

lol, we cant continue to blame people that voted Buhari especially people that are not politicians. It just like a lady going for Toaster A instead of B, na the lady know why she pick A especially when A no even get money to give her.

The fact is that most of these western countries dont rate us at all, more facts are emerging that the Omicron variant was first detected in Netherlands 5 days before it was noticed in SA, guess what? No European country (including Netherlands) is on the travel ban list grin African countries are generally sh*t. Even CNN is saying the ban is unjust especially with the exclusion of Netherlands, but just like i said dem no rate us. America is top 3 most affected by covid, dem no born Canada well to ban them grin USA citizens dont need visa to enter Canada but Canadians need visa to enter USA, African countries need to step up their games when it comes to international diplomacy

Thanks a million for this response. I very much appreciate it.

The figures were not hidden by me. The GCMS notes were delivered to me with the figures censored. I have submitted another application in which I paid my full tuition and deposited funds to cater to my living expenses throughout my study duration, 1 year. Will that address the VO's concerns?

Since we do not need visa to travel to Cotonou , I think the best we can do is get a Covid test from their hospital there , Atleast that’s a proof that you’ve been in the country. Not sure they are going to be asking for your address

Okay this is my timeline! 2nd time applicant

1st application was in the UK on 14th May 2021.
My review started in July when I had already returned to Nigeria. They told me that my UK permit had expired and that I should update them with a new permit. I then replied that I had returned to Nigeria bla bla. Then they issued me a rejection. In the GCMS note, this was the reason:

Nigerian male applicant, has been studying Masters through an Erasmus programme in Italy and in the UK. Status is now expired and he has returned to Port Harcourt.
The applicant has not yet completed his Masters degree through Erasmus programme (states completion will be in September) and as such I am not satisfied that he currently meets the criteria to engage in a PhD programme at McGill University. Further, there are similar programmes available closer to Nigeria, studies in Canada would further remove the applicant from his country of citizenship, after studies in Europe and the UK.

On the whole, I am not satisfied the applicant meets the requirements under R216 for the following reasons:
- Academic credentials have not been presented
- Limited travel history
- Limited assets
- Purpose of travel

I felt that they just rejected me because of my expired status in the UK because:
1. I don't have a limited travel history. You can see from the visa officer's comment that they are aware that I have travelled to UK and Italy.
2. I have multiple scholarships for my PhD plus 15kcad personal saving
3. Even though I completed my MSc in September, my resumption would be in January. So it should not be an issue.
Overall, I think my residence status was the reason for the rejection.

2nd application timeline
Submitted: 6th October

Don’t forget IRCC said they won’t let ppl who were in the banned countries in the past 14 days if u go in through Benin ur passport will be stamped and the date applied

So it’s best if u go to Benin and stay for 14 days before traveling out that’s if they don’t get banned before ur 14 days is over
