Please, is there anyone who had to apply for extension or renewal of travel restriction exemption authorization (WAT) for their accompanying kids who were ineligible for student visa due to their age? Any experience of this whether before or since the NEW ban of direct flight from our Obodo yesterday, would be okay.

My son's written authorization was back-dated to medical request was given in September and it took 2 months later to get actual visa. Actually, in late October, PPR dropped same day as the current authorization letter even though the date on the letter was about 7-weeks earlier.

Family is missing planned travel this Friday (tomorrow) due to the new ban-g! ban-g!! ban-g!!!. And with the required 14-days quarantine in 3rd country route, the 3-months validity would be maxed out before the quarantine ends.

The question here is.. I am about paying my school for fanshawe. I couldn’t pay it then cuz of my problem.. thinking I won’t be able to travel again and all. But now that the matter don settle..

My admission for January, I think it’s close, the deadline was I should pay the school fees before October 20. Which I couldn’t do, because I didn’t know how long the matter was going to take and it was a serious one..

What can I do now? Can I defer to next admission which is may or June.. will I still be able to travel? Appreciate any appropriate answer.

Back to the Canada waka, after the endears saga, I knew I was done with Naija and I started looking for how to look for a 'better' country, hence my return to Nairaland
to source valid information and I was not disappointed.

I submitted my application on September 1, 2021.
Did my biometrics September 7.
I did upfront medicals even before I submitted my application, started medical Aug 17 at IOM, got a mail for additional Xray view Aug 27, I thought that was all, only for me to get a mail for additional information, I was told I have to come for sputum test at 7am for 3 consecutive days at IOM Ikeja and I reside in Ajah, so I had to transfer to Q-life,
I paid extra 60k for sputum test and was told they need to culture for 10weeks, it was at this point I almost gave up but na Buhari dey motivate me Ajeh.

Going to Q-life for 3days consecutively for sputum test was not enjoyable for me at all especially for the fact that it is a supervised test, they will watch spit into a test tube until it gets to about 5-10ml, after 10weeks, I had to pay and do another X-ray at Q-life which was sent with the result of my sputum test.

Medical updated to pass Nov 25, come and see celebration when I finally passed my medicals you will think that my study permit just got approved.

Got one ghost update, then Dec 2, I was in the office when I saw the mail, come and see 'tough' man like me shaking inside AC, ran to the toilet to check the mail and login, my heart was racing, hand shaking and bracing myself in case the news was not favourable and then I saw the PPR news, small tears of joy dropped because medicals show me pepper.

I want to thank everyone for all your support.

I have read every contributions and comments from part 17, 18, 19 and this 20. After I submitted my application, I realised I didn't do justice to my lump sum, so I raised a webform, entered Frankrobbn 1 mode with a touch of Makano methodology and a sprinkle of Ketima FBI skills and created a believable story about it and reattached documents to back it up.

I raised a total of 4 different webforms at different times to update my information based on what I read here.

One day soon, I will do a story on my sputum test experience and what to expect.

P.S: Pls pardon my typos and poor composition, I am too excited to type a well composed story, I am just typing as it comes, maybe I will do a better one when I am calmer

Hi, this was what I did
Start planning. Is Oga ready to relocate immediately with you? If he has a great job, I will advise he plans to join you later - living expenses are high anywhere and as long as he can earn it is advisable he does.

Do you have travel history? If you have a current U.S visa, I will advise you try to get canadian visitors visa before you apply for the student visa - don't know how easy that is with Covid restrictions, but it is often difficult to get spouse working permit and visitors visa after you apply for your student visa. If you don't have travel history, it can still work but will take longer.

If you don't have travel history, are you willing to leave your kids and husband to go first and they join you later? It can be quite lonely but it is
doable.

So the actual process:
I advise getting a 2 year masters program. Since you have been a stay at home mom, you can say you want to use the masters to jump start your career. Very important - please start drafting your statement of purpose (the letter to the embassy explaining why you want to do this course) at the same time you are applying for admission. Always have your story in mind as you choose schools and make applications. Always put yourself in the position of the visa officer - if you were the one looking at this application, what doubts will you have? Then make sure you address it.

Once you have gotten admission apply for your visa. If you have loads of money, as in up to 4 or 5 times the amount of money required for your program or if you have funding from your school, you can apply at once with your family. You apply for a student visa, your husband applies for a work permit and the children apply for visitors visa or student visa. If your funds are not that much, you apply alone, after you get to Canada you apply for your family. Note these applications can take close to a year, that's why I said apply for a 2 year program, if not you may finish your program and their application has not been processed.

After school, you get a Post graduate work permit depending on how long your program was. if you did a 2 yr program, you often get a 3 year work permit. The aim of school route is that after working for a year, you gain points in the Express entry pool and can apply for PR via Canadian Experience Class. If your husband gets a work permit and gets a job, he can apply even before you finish your program. Some provinces also have their own local programs thus some will give you a provincial nomination once you have a job, some will give you after working for one year etc. Once you get a provincial nomination it is almost certain that you will get called up at the next draw.

Or you could simply try to up your scores in the Express entry pool from Nigeria and save yourself millions in school fees. If you are under 40, you can do a lot to improve your scores - learn french (that should give you like 50 - 75 extra points). Do a masters program in your field (there's something people do in IT that gives them scores in express entry like a masters and its less than a year). If you do these two things you can be in canada as a PR which is a better option than school.

First contact your school to know the status of your admission and inquire on deferring considering that Omicron has made Canada ban students entry from Nigeria for now.

As for your visa, it's still valid until it expires. However, you will need your admission letter to get your study Permit at the point of entry, so try to contact your school first to clarify your admission status before making payment.

As par the company matter...then he should have come clean...I work for so and so...but the thing be say, I dey give loan ooo...not the bank...and bla bla bla.... customers sef prefer meeting bankers one on one for loan than the bank...cos of charges and fees...come to think of it, he is the one parting with the hoooge sum and I don't see why he should be skeptical on stuffs like address... infact, it should have been the other way round...you feel me?

A very good buddy whom I got to assist in filling his application from this thread has gotten his PPR. He is self sponsored, never travelled before applicant.
Read through this thread and offered to help him in his application when it came up about him wanting to apply.
The first hurdle to cross was that he finished with a very poor result in E.E from one of the Nigerian unis; His grade was "PASS". that's the least grade of Nigeria University system.
He has been Into business right from school; ICT product sales and services and finished schooling in 2015.
We Started applying to schools since April, Diploma in Computer Systems Technician and Graduate Diploma in MBA, applied to 5 schools and when the feedbacks on admission started coming in they kept declining him stating that his results were too poor and he was over qualified at the same time for the diploma degree he was applying for. Durham College, George Brown College, Centennial college, Humber college and MUN.
But in the end Humber College and Centennial offered him admission. Centennial was a conditional admission while Humber was a full admission that didn't require a fees payment. So he went with Humber.
He Booked an upfront medical in July and got a September date.
Contacted Justmellow for him, to write his SOP, which he did a very good job with a strong worded 2pages, citing his strength considering his unique state of application.
Documents were gathered and by September after the medical appointment, application was opened and submitted.
The Rest was committed Into the Hands of Abba Father and he perfected all that concerned the application.

-WES Assessment (used in place of his Transcript as Justmellow advised he doesn't use it because of the poor grades init, so since he had a WES Assessment which he had done earlier, he used it in place of the transcript).
