I play volleyball with some eastern Europeans (mostly Latvian and Lithuanians), we have more girls(70%) than guys in our team but I try to keep to myself and not get so close to the ladies. One day the team decided to go out out for meal and drinks. After a couple of drinks, I went to use the toilet for a wee, on coming out, one of the ladies (a team mate) was literally waiting for me at the door, she pulled me aside for a chat.
To my utmost surprise, this girl said "I know it's embarrassing but pls don't be offended, I'm just curious. What attracts you to a guy, I heard u'r bisexual "?. I was just so flabbergasted.
Apparently, she was new to the team(about 3months then) and some of the older ones told her I was bisexual but was more attracted to guys and that's why I relate more with the few guys in the team. I cleared her that I'm as straight as a ruler and I had a girlfriend. We laughed and hugged it out and since then we became very close/good friends

The most consistent one is that I am snobbish. That rumour has followed me from my university days till date. When people who used to think that eventually get to interact with me they are so surprised by how open I am. I am so open even regular kids on the street feel free enough to come up to me, I just don't know how that rumour follows me about.

I use a nice phone, always on my laptop, use an inverter, have a workstation set up in my room, and it's hard to get the details of my conversations. I am also extremely reserved and don't keep many friends.

Guys! Learn coding or any legit online business, earn money, and live in a comfortable but affordable place where truly educated people reside. Most of those people who peddle rumors are idle and lack exposure. Married people (families – in my experience) that are not doing well themselves will envy your success as a young single guy and in stead of asking what you do for a living (although you don't owe anyone an answer), they resort to peddling rumors.

While I was in the university, I stayed off campus. In my year 2, there is this girl in my street that I do play with and relate with very well. It's just a casual relationship and I most time see her in front of her house and we chat and gist. I have not entered into her house one day. So apparently, people do see us a lot all the time and I think they feel we were dating of which we are not. We were in this casual relationship since my year two and it has been consistent. So at one time, this girl was sick and it took a while for her to get fine but we thank God she became ok after some time.

I just felt they are "hard girls" trying to play hard with me.

I tried a lot to convince this girl but she didn't accept me but keeps telling me to calm down and that I should give her time. I was also very close to this girls sister and she tried to talk to her sister but she no gree. That happened all through my 400 level and up to second semester 500level.
So one day during my final year last semester,I was having a chat with the girls sister and she said "do you know there is a rumor going round about you in the community since your 200 level?" I said I am not aware and I was curious on what the rumor could be. She told me that there is a rumor that I impregnated that girl I was very close to back then when I was in 200 level and that she had to abort the child which was the cause of her sickness back then. I was shocked
I was wondering how such a rumor could be going on in town without me knowing. And the girl they are talking about, I haven't seen her pants not to talk of having sex with her to the extent of impregnating her. When I got that information, I could now relate it with how girls in my community were avoiding me in a certain way

During my final year, there was this Jambite i met during Delta state student meeting and i was tripping, so i got close to her since she was in my dept and i had a guy in year two in my house that i do ask to assist her do some building drawings.

So after being close friends for 2 months i asked her out in my own way, she told me she doesn't understand, unfortunately i could explain myself better, but she then told me she would think about it, we are always together, i would see her off to her house and return via a bush part at 11pm or 12am.

I reminded her of the initial toasting about 5 months later since strike elongated our session, she basically turned it to mockery, but i persisted , only for the Delta state student association president to accuse me of impregnating her, i was shook, it was glaring she was pregnant but dumb me used it as a joke that she was getting fat until that accusation. Meanwhile, i did not as much as kiss her let alone see her unclothedness, yet her room mate was shocked to learn we didn't date cos she was so sure we did.

It became clear, i had to ask her on the day of my final paper, she somehow told me we would discuss it, suddenly people started chasing me so as to flog me as a graduate, before i composed myself, and i called her, she was on her way fleeing to Ibadan. She only confessed about it two years later.
