Hmm... With the news and headlines we read about Borno state, you will think by now no single soul should be there again.
I have a friend who's doing pretty well there, the last time I asked about the issues going on there, the response was "the same way you guys hear or read the headlines, that's how he used to read it too" then I know the blogging industry/media is all about how to make money not to get people informed.

Have been in the North too for quite a while, for real some things happens here and the fact is before we hear about it ourselves the news is already on the internet that so so part of the both is on fire and bla bla bla, meanwhile I'm here sipping a chill Kunu and wondering if the media are talking of the same place I am at the moment.
What a pity.
Are you saying all the killings never took place?

The story looks fake to me. There is no multinational company in Maiduguri except international NGOs. Didn't she know that she was going to Maiduguri and yet, passed through the difficult and stressful recruitment of a multinational?

I passed through an NGO recruitment of which I was supposed to be based in Abuja but they later changed it to Damboa. I declined, despite the huge reward. I would have accepted if it was to be in Maiduguri.

A lady friend of mine recently got a job offer with a multinational in Maiduguri. It comes with accommodation and take home is around 700k.
I advised her to decline the offer because from the news, those areas are hostile and there's a 75.65% chance a bandit would raape her or 80% chance she could be hit by a bomb.
She finally declined the offer and thanked me for saving her life.
I hope I did the right thing?

Lol, 500k per month is not even big salary in Maid, there are many people earning over 1m/month steady in Maid. The only thing is that life is a bit expensive. There are people from all over the world - Asians, Europeans, Americans, other Africans in Maiduguri. It's a very safe place if you're in Maid city proper, just make sure you travel by flights or travel by road carefully when going outside the state. Na if you dey other local governments, na im wahala dey.

You didn't hear of NGO workers that were kidnapped and killed?
That job is certainly an NGO job and it requires them visiting idp camps and remote places

Except if she wants her heart in her mouth and live an hermit life of going to work and getting something to eat and to the house just to enjoy that money which is not even worth it in my opinion.

I wouldn't advice my friends to go there, no Matter the amount.
I could remember vividly my experience there during Youth service some years back.
Some Fulani urchin knocked me down from behind and left me unconscious for a moment. He tried to raape me with his dirty, pathetic and uncircumcised dicck. I regained consciousness when he was about tearing my panties and gave him a knee uppercut on his balls. He screamed with excruciating pains as some pus oozed out from the pericap of his disgusting tool. I further kicked his nose with my orange boots and he bled.
The next day I quickly applied for redeployment to a more reasonable location.

My advice is for all indigenes of that state to go back there and take jobs.

Na wao for you o, you should have just told her not to go. Why on earth are you manufacturing percentages? Your percentages are utterly false as far as the city of Maiduguri is concerned. Haba, she was not going to a place like chibok na. Many of you don't even know that Maiduguri as a city is safer than many other cities in Nigeria, the Concentration of forces there is second to non. When last did your hear security breaches in Maiduguri? I hate when people speak without adequate knowledge of what they are saying

Joysticks:
Are you saying all the killings never took place?

The killings are for real, but so particular in some areas. Come to think of it, the killings in the east, are there still people living in the affected area or when you hear about rituals in the S/W does that mean everyone in the SW is a ritualist?
One thing we need to know just like I stated earlier was that, we were misinformed about this bandits and herdsmen.
We do not listen to most of the people in government because media are politically influenced.
When someone says, bandits it's a business stuff; y'all took it other way round thinking they're using it for personal business or protecting banditry.
Meanwhile, when you're in the North then you will know that banditry is a business, and these people have targets, they don't just go sheepishly and wreck havock.
Example: when two business men involve in a business and one tends to cheat another instead of using juju like other tribes, then rely on bandits and most times they will inflict everything around the other person so as to intimidate and back off from the contract or deal and as such the other person will look for a means to retaliate then the community won't be left out of the situation. That's why we have issues like this,...well I'm just stating based on my view here...there maybe more to it.
