Heaven = life
Hell = death
Wage = payment/salary
Sin = bad things against God's will.
-
You keep on Sinning, you will collect your salary for sinning.

Well, am sure we all are aware of the Bible verse that says "the wages of sin is death"
But to my knowledge,I find out that all humans must die and even some wicked people we know still live longer than the ones we call saints.

Sometimes, you will see some wicked people live so long till old age before they die and you will also see some kind hearted people dying young.

If the wages of sin is death, then why do this wicked people live long and why do we believe everyone will still die

I think there is more to this Bible verse than we see it

Please any one with good knowledge should explain. Thanks
that passage was talking about second death.

God allow the wicked ones to live long to see if they can repent. Cos God says he does not want the wicked to die and go to hell but rather they should repent cos our God is a merciful God

I just want to know why the Bible said that because, everyone is gonna die

Physical death is not the real death. Eternal separation from God in hell fire is the real death the Bible is talking about. The Bible calls it 'The second death.'

But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

There are two types of death.

The Physical Death

This type of death is the one we see around us. It can come from anything, be it accidents, sickness, suicide, etceteras. Everyone on earth will taste this type of death because it is needed to help us shed our physical bodies.

And then, there is the other type of death which is the one you should fear.

The Spiritual Death

When God warned that Adam would die if he ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, the spiritual death was what God was talking about.

The spiritual death is an alienation from the love of God. It is the same as living in a world of unhappiness, grief, sadness, pains, sufferings, etceteras. Before Adam and Eve sinned, they had everything in abundance. But when they sinned, they were thrown out of Eden, into a world of sufferings, physical deaths, painful childbirths, barren grounds, quarrels, wickedness, etceteras.

But along the way, God began to design a way to bring us back to Eden (a metaphor for eternal life, a life devoid of physical deaths, and all the elements of the spiritual death). To give man a second chance, God sacrificed His Only Begotten Son, Jesus the Christ.

Let me add that, the spiritual death was a curse that we all had to share, but Christ took all of that curse, and gave us a chance at eternal life.

The wages of our sins (is by default) eternal curse.

Everyone will taste the physical death, but if you don't live a life that pleases God, you will suffer the spiritual death (which is also known as the Second Death). You will be cut from the love of God forever and ever.

Take note that the idea of hell fire as a place of a fire that burns forever is false doctrine. Hell is simply a place of the dead. You will remain dead forever, the same as being seperated from God (who is the symbol of Eternal life).

Hell fire is not a fire that will burn forever. However, it will be used to burn the sinners till they are dead, and beyond resurrection. After that, the fire will go out. This is the Second Death. An everlasting death!!!

It death in the afterlife. Sinners shall wrath hell for eternity. That's the death here. Your pastor must be a prosperity preacher that's why you don't know it.

DON'T LISTEN TO ALL THE VIBES HERE, MOST ARE INCORRECT.
THE PRICE WE PAY FOR SIN IS DEATH, BUT THE FREE GIFT OF GOD IS EVERLASTING LIFE. IT MEANS WE ALL WILL DIE, BECAUSE WE ARE ALL SINNERS COURTESY OF OUR FATHER ADAM, BUT THOSE THAT BELEIVE IN JESUS AND DO HIS WILL THOUGH WILL DIE WILL RESURRECT TO BE GIVEN ETERNAL LIFE
.....,.BUT THE FREE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST

He's right mate
We misjudge people a lot and take appearances for truth
Have you ever meditated deeply on Jesus' words that "by their fruits you shall know them?"
Do you you know what fruits He was talking about?
Do you know there' a huge difference between who you are and the facade you project?
Do you know it's easy to judge people based on the facade they project and miss out on who they really are?
May God gives us more insight into his word.

The question is truely the definition of DEATH.
We have
Physical Death
Spiritual Death
Second Death

Death is a DISCONNECTION from the SOURCE!

Second Death is a Permanent DISCONNECTION of a person's Body, Soul and Spirit from God in a Prison called Lake of Fire
Permanent disconnection from God? Lol gringrin
To be in hell you have to be alive and God is the source of all life, so oga you CAN'T possibly be disconnected from God and also remember God's omnipresent.

It doesn't mean physical death, after all both the righteous and sinners will taste death.

It means the eternal condemnation!

In context your quotation is correct as in I will not inherit my father's sin of adultery, stealing, hate, murder etc
BUT
I am not free from the CONSEQUENCES of my father's sin.

We all inherited DEATH as a consequence of the sin of Adam and Eve.

Rom 5:12:
"Why, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed on all men, for that all have sinned:"

Rom 5:17:
"For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. )"

We by nature grow up to be sinners because we inherited the DISEASE of SIN from Adam and Eve.

THE natural death which is common to everyone either good or bad is a direct result of adam and eve because initially man was not created to die. but the death the bible talks here iseternal separation from God in hell fire which is the 2nd death. It is permanent. It is eternal. It is a choice. Accet Jesus to escape it

To understand this scripture, you need to understand the 3 types of death, so you'll know the one that particular scripture is referring to.

Let's begin:

First, Death in scripture means separation from the original purpose.

There are 3 types of death in scripture:

1) Physical Death: Separation of your inner man (soul/spirit) from your outer man (body).
Every human being dies physically, whether you're a child of God or not.

If the wages or payment for sin is physical death, it means that anyone who dies physically has automatically paid for his sin, and would have to go to heaven. Irrespective of how he lived his life.

We know that this is not true, based on scripture.

Verdict: The wages of sin is NOT physical death.

2) Spiritual Death: This is the state of a living man in sin... it's the default state of every human being who has reached an age of accountability.

It means the separation of man from God & the life of God while that man is still alive physically .

If the wages of sin is spiritual death, it means that as long as you're living in sin and separated from God, you have paid for your sin...and so God would have no choice but to allow you into heaven after your life end on earth.

It then means that every sinner will go to heaven automatically at physical death while children/babies who didn't have time to sin before dying physically will go to hell.

Absurd right?

We know that this is not true... otherwise the death of Jesus Christ is in vain.

Verdict: The wages of sin is NOT spiritual death.

3) Eternal Death: this is the separation of man from God and the life of God for eternity after physical death.

It simply means that it will take you forever to receive your just payment for all your sins...

In order words, God who is just and doesn't like owing anybody will only become satisfied that He has paid you fully... AFTER eternity.

So you'll be separated from God, His life and His goodness forever...and the only location where we cannot find God or His goodness is Hell...this is why man has to spend his period of eternal separation here.

Verdict: The wages or payment for sin is Eternal death or eternal separation from God in hell.

Really!

The gift and calling of God is without REPENTANCE!
Rom 11:29:
"For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance."
Your life is a gift from God that is yours to keep forever!

The Lake of Fire is equivalent to God's REFUSE BIN where souls useless to His purpose are dumped.

God is omnipresent in both time and space. Disconnection from God is akin to having no emotional value to God. It just simply means that the sinner in the lake of Fire becomes IRRELEVANT to anything of God.

When as humans we excrete our waste, do will place them in place of record, relevance and importance or we place them in the pit? The excrement is disconnected from us!
