Almost every house here has boreholes in their compond,some even extend it outside for community use. Water no scarce for west like that. HV never seen where ppl buy water in osun state. Even in dry season people fetch from nearby wells with no issues from well owners. Our wells here hardly dry in dry seasons..and besides,there are boreholes everywhere.

There's nothing like borehole in enugu. Borehole doesn't work in enugu due to coal sediments that spoils the borehole after a while. The simple reality is that there's no portable drinking water in Enugu. Even bathing water is a challenge.

Federal government built the ultramodern surface water supply systems of Kaduna, Kano and some other major northern cities.

The scarcity is too much here in Enugu to be precise (Top-land Ameachi) i use to stay inside big bow and bath inside for me to still use the water to flush the toilet

Enugu water scarcity issue is beyond state government incompetence like the media is making you to believe. It has to do with excess coal deposit in Enugu state making it almost impossible to sink a borehole water supply system.



If not, almost every compound and community in Enugu will have their personal borehole water just as its applicable to almost all Nigerian states.



The major challenge there is coal deposits.

Private waterboreholes are not substitutes for public water supply system, except in Nigeria under curse of inept political leaders.

Modern public water supply system is usually from surface water supply system, not from underground water supply system.

That notwithstanding, the ultramodern Kaduna city's public water supply system was built by the federal government during the Obasanjo administration.

Then you guys are lucky. The story ain’t same in Enugu state. These guys have not had their bath since 24th Dec o. In fact,the failure of a governor even sends tanker to God knows where to get water. So u see,Enugu is in the hands of water scarcity...no longer God’s hands.
