That you are in a relationship with a great person that loves you and you also love this person, does not mean you can't be attracted to someone else. There are many theories why this happens. It is sometimes bewildering because on a normal day the person is not your spec nevertheless there is attraction between you two.


It is best to aknowledge the feeling first (because denying it only makes the attraction stronger), try to look at the situation with a logical mind and then craft out ways to avoid the being in the same space with the person. It could take a long time to kill feelings e.g up to a year or more. So your friend should be patient with herself.

In general it is the practice self control. It could start with small things like denying yourself ice cream, soft drinks or whatever it is you crave or like doing and then you'll see that you don't die from not satisfying yourself.
