Hi, Olamzy45 Giselle and Amelia have hit the nail on the head.
You don’t apply to a developed country saying you want to spend 3 Months on holidays, nobody takes a holiday of 3 months abroad except for maternity or other very pressing things like health and co.
£3000 from your friend, this friend must be too generous
I’ll say this application wasn’t well put together and you should never be in a hurry to reapply if not you’re knocking on the door for another refusal. Wait at least 6 months is what I always advise although it’s not a rule on paper it’s only customary.
You’ve been refused once so your next application will be to be in top shape.
I wish you all the best.

That could have been the op's case as highlighted, and considering the op is a pensioner, i personally do not see any urgency why he/she would have needed to return back home or why he/she can not afford him/herself a 3 months vacation abroad. The op's friend may just have intended to foot part of such bills for medical tourism or something deemed important for their friendship.

Ok. Please kindly do all Leef2022 stated and I am 100% certain you will get it next time you apply. Good luck

Pls oooooo there's no 100% certainty, best we do is advise either from experience or what we have learnt and read. The decision(s) lies with the ECO handling the application(s).

But i 100% agree with your positivity that the op gets it right when next he/she applies.

Hahahaha true. But most important thing is he follows your advice & advice of others, does his homework, give some time maybe 3months and reapply again & 100% positive he will get it next time around

Good evening House,

Please who has flown Qatar since the UK lifted the pre departure test requirement for fully vaccinated?

Did qatar request for pre departure test from Nigeria?

How was the trip? First time flying Qatar to UK. I usually use European Airlines or direct but that money plenty for now.

applying to go to the UK for 3 months… that is too long… and that the trip will be sponsored by a friend who is going to bring 3000 pounds. Wwhy is a friend going to sponsor your trip 3000 pounds to come to the UK for a whole 3 months? Any reason and Also you did not provide any documents to prove this friend has this amount of funds. How come?
U also stated u earn pension of about 166k monthly with no evidence of such.

Pls work on the above. This was hasty and not well thought out. Did you just want to apply for application sake or how or did the ECO miss all your documentation?

If he/she has been reading this post earlier this great mistake would have been averted...... All the way I believe next application would be tight and well organized peace ✌️✌️

If you are refused you will get a mail from UK embassy before getting a collection mail but if you given you won't receive any refusal mail you will only get collection mail

If you write them...

If a decision has been made you would be told that a decision has been made and that your case would be escalated, and in some cases you maybe told to not write them until after 10 working days.(in some cases that may not be included)

If a decision is not made yet, they will tell you that due to high volume of non-immigrant visa application they are unable to process application with the normal time frame, they would then slide in the mail instructing you not buy a ticket or do any such thing that may cause you to loose more money in the event of a refusal unless need be.

Finally, they would slide in the mail that they DO NOT DISCUSS OUTCOME OF AN APPLICATION VIA EMAIL OR PHONE and that you have to wait for future instructions from them if need be..

Note, the above text is no quote, but you get a response of such context or structure.

The refusal says the documents provided don’t show these funds from the sponsor.
Yes, there’s no urgency to return him but going to spend 3 months sleeping and waking up abroad and as a first-timer, in his or her application is not the right way to present one’s case.
If the sponsor was the writer's child yes it would have been acceptable but in this case, it is stated friend so there’s a lot more to prove.
Any first-time applicant to the Uk has a lot to prove because everyone is deemed an immigrant and only the documents provided refute that immigrant Intent.

Hello Everyone… I have been reading this thread and need advice on how to process my mum’s visit visa to the Uk. My mum is retired but will like to visit my brother in the Uk for his masters graduation for 3weeks. My brother went for his Msc with his family. My mum has not been paid her pension and does not currently have any source of income. The only inflow of money in her account is the monthly upkeep my brother and I give her. Should I include my statement of account as her sponsor, or just put some money in her account. Should my brother include his statement of account?… please note he doesn’t earn much, he is a student and he just graduated. How do we go about this application please.

Now, whilst still in the spirit i quote, 2 Corinthians 13:1 says "This is the third time I am coming to you. Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses".CSB version.

2-3 elders had stated 3 months as being too much or too long.

personally
3 months is not too much, not too long (there is no immigration rule as such) thus, i'm so sorry, but I could not have allowed the establishment of such matter without an objection not when 3 and more respected elders and gurus on here had suggested so.

As long as your visa would be valid for the duration of stay and one can demonstrate he/she would exist UK territories after his/her visit; also he/she should be able to explain why and what he/she will be doing for most or all of his/her visit, as such 3 months is not too much for a 6 months visa, and i believe this applies to old and new applicants.

He/she can re-apply at anytime, but must get it better next time.

Thanks and God bless.

3 months is a lot. Not visiting family…. Not healthcare. Tourism for 3 months?
That is a red flag. Put yourself in the shoes of the ECO.
You will outrightly deny this application as yet agaon they do not even have the funds to fund this 3 months but relying on a friend. What happens if after 1 month the friend decides to back out of your tourism plans??… so you will recourse to public funds or probably overstay.
For a first time visit. And you dnt have the financial wherewithal to back up this long duration.
This is very very simple. Intention is doubted with a great deal. Even me sef if this is a foreigner intending to visit Nigeria with the above profile, I will deny the visa. You have not proved your intent beyond reasonable doubt.. come worsen am with such a long time and tagged it tourism and visiting a friend.
No offense intended @olamzy45 pls

putting myself in the ECO shoes, i would give the applicant the visa, with lesser duration and a single entry..

Ur mom can apply.
If you have enough funds to cover your own needs +/- your nuclear family needs and there os still extra for her trip, why not.
In the last 6 months if pension hasnt been paid, surely there will be documents to establish how long she has worked and documents to establish she is a genuine pensioner.
If it will be a fully sponsored trip, and since she doesnt have much. I advise you transfer the bulk money that you intend to sponsor her with to her account and tag it appropriately.
Ur brother should write an invitation letter properly
U write a sponsorship letter attaching proof of prigin of funds and all the details of how u are so happy to sponsor ur mum etc
Attach all her other ties to Nigeria. Is ur dad alive and in nigeria? If yes he is a tie.
If she has properties, cars, investments, business attach it
The house she lives on and how long has she lived in it. If owned by her, attach those documents.
Basically look for every document to establish her deep seethed tie to Nigeria and how she can not abandon her life here to go and remain in the Uk.
Ofcourse u and ur brother should attache family pictures and birth certificates as proof of relationship.
She can attach her own personal acct- 1 or 2 months statement just for show and if especially the previous months are not too fantastic. U the sponsor’s statement of account will carry her as well as u wud have already transferred the money intended for the trip to her acct.

Re 3 months stays, there’s no rule on paper That says you can't stay 3 months capital yes but what obtains in practice?

Re second to the last paragraph, anybody that does not want to be sent back especially a first-time traveler not visiting their children shouldn’t state that. Yes, they always say this but if you try it most times it may not end well.
Permit me to say during My last USA visa renewal interview at the Lagos consulate in VI a certain woman was asked how long are you staying she said two weeks then the officer briskly cut in and said but the last time you stayed three months plus he referred to other times she had stayed longer than 2 weeks and that was the end of that interview, I witnessed this happen.
Yes, they’ll say if you can demonstrate bla bla bla, please don’t be used as an example for demonstration just stay 2/3 weeks, if you have a family you’re going to reunite with max one month if you’re retired and you’re going to visit your kids yes 3 months is presentable even 6 months sef.

Answer YES to the refusal question. It will populate a box where you can briefly explain you were refused but the decision was overturned following an administrative review and the visa was granted.

Hello Everyone been a silent reader.

I did my Biometrics Nov 15th, however when they added Nigeria to the Red list and stated that we can collect our passports back while they work on the application. I collected mine back.

I don’t know if it’s because we are yet to submit the passport back a decision is yet to be made on the application.

Do you think I should submit my passport back or just wait for outcome of the decision before submitting my passport. I have an exam coming up and I need my passport so I don’t want it getting trapped with them again.

Please advise could not returning the passport back cause delays in making a decision. Also they stated that we have 3months to use the passport and return it back or the application would be treated as null and void.
