You didnt watch Morocco in the last AFCON then, they dismantled other teams in their group. Won convincingly and played excellently well only to be pegged back by a 3rd placed Benin in the round of 16 so was Egypt and the case of SA.

Both teams played well but fluffed it when it mattered most. Only Algeria who fell into this category went on to win the competition
And possibly, another team who falls into the same category will go on to win it. That's what we're looking out for

We were making guesses before tournament started and we will continue to gauge teams as the tournament progresses

On Nig vs Egp

Eguavon really showed he's smart by riding on the work already done by Rohr, he was able to push the boys to bully the Egyptians, his selection was spot on and his changes showed we have almost 2 players per spot.
Aina showed class with his run up the flanks, I dare say he was more effective than Chuks, his defensive work rate was also top notch
Sanusi held his grounds against Mo to my surprises
Moses was on fire! Guy played as if it was his last, he had unbroken pleasure running at the defence of Egypt
Awoniyi justified his selection, we didn't miss Osi so much
Wilf is definitely a near future captain of the Eagles, he was virtually running the middle

On the other hand, Ejuke needs to play for the team not himself
Nacho needs to show more commitment as he does in his club
Aribo must learn to stamp his authority in the middle
Ekong must be very alert, no break in concentration

Meeting a high profile team is a different ball game form meeting a low profile team
We shall see how the coach will perform against a team that can be easily "overlooked"

Finally, I say thank you to Rohr for the great works he has done with this team and for Eguavon taking advantage of the foundational works laid by Rohr.

Watching @Basco highlight of the Nig vs Egy match, i can boldly say CHIDERA EJUKE is a SELFISH PLAYER. He had Sadiq opened twice during the 3 highlights of Ejuke, he refused to pass the ball to him. On the third one, it was Iwobi & Sadiq, rather than pass to either of them, he chose self glory again. Upon that, he could not pick a decent angle on 3 different ocassions to bury his shots instead he was hitting it at the goalkeeper. Too damn selfish!
I need the link please

People who complain that he isn't giving his best for the super eagles need to pay attention to this kind of stats. It's through these stats that we know how he gives his "best for Leicester". Unfortunately, national team games aren't usual fully statistically represented, so some of these details are often missed .
I am one of those who felt unimpressed by Ndidi not because he plays poorly but because I feel he could do more but mehn Ndidi was immense on the day. He was everywhere like an octopus, hassling for the ball, breaking the a tracks of the Egyptians, combining well with Aribo.

You know Eguavoen said in that video that Ndidi was holding back but he would speak with Ndidi to give more. Who knows, maybe Eguavoen has spoken to him. Ndidi was excellent

So I watched the highlight dropped by super Basco

Apart from that goal, Nacho still had a poor first touch, if not he would had scored an hat trick in the game,

Simon needs to keep his cool, and also needs to be shaking his marker, when inside the box, we can do with some PKs,

overall, they need to calm down when in the opponent box, so to convert their chance,

one touch too heavy, in the opponents box, inability of both Simon, nacho, and even Awo to dive like a fish, even for the slightest push, denied us some pk,

Finally I miss our Diver Vicmo in that game, still all the best to him, he should cont6to enjoy his retirement

Defender no dey ever know when Vic go wan dive. He fit even enter defender and fall. Madt man. That guy is the most composed forward we had in the last decade inside the box 18. He'd have caused one pk vs Egypt if he was here.

Am telling you, those runs Simon had, would had been a goal/assist, from Vicmo,

that side netting, Vicmo would had dived for a Pk, by cutting back,

that Ejuke last moment, issa sure goal/assist from Vicmo,

Ejuke was not only selfish, he made no squaring passes. He's the most selfish player in the team. I remember against CAR; regardless of what Osimhen did, Ejuke was not going to pass the ball. He never looked up once to try and find a teammate...

By the time Ejuke learns to pass the ball selflessly , he would have retired.
