Hello house.
Need help and advice as I'm in a dilemma.
I intend to write my plab exam in the UK in the first week of July but would want to apply sometimes in the second week in March.
I understand that one can't apply earlier than 3 months but intend to state in my application that I'll be entering the UK a month before my PLAB 2 exam with a leave letter from work so I can prepare for the exam and read.
Will I be able to apply in March if I state that I'll be traveling in June and when can one enter the UK if the visa is granted.
A friend said they usually put the entry date to be about a week to the time one intends to travel to the UK cos I I tend to travel sometimes around May 25

Thank you I just saw this now. Is it possible to cancel application after about 48WD? If Yes, like how long would it take them to acknowledge the cancel request?

Childhood pictures taken together even up to adulthood.
Also, it might be advisable for your sister to visit other countries before reapplying to the uk.
Can she use a fixed deposit account ?

You can cancel your application anytime before a decision is made. It will still take days before you can get back your passport. They will acknowledge immediately after you click cancel. No refund after biometrics.

Why do you want to cancel it after the long wait (48WD)?

Now you got your visa, you should have some certainty that you are on track.

Again do you need the stress of worrying if/if not you would get a response within 2 weeks when you should be focused on preps for the exams with less stress?
And if you get a response after 2 months, you want to start explaining that on your CV to the gmc reason for the medical gap when applying to to get a license or jobs? Though, that is somehow of a reasonable reason, that you took the medical gap becasue you where in the UK and all the grounds you may/would have to bolster your case; but then, think about it this way, that you would have probably been better off still earning some incomes(during that medical gap) back in Dubai and have less about to explain in your CV in the future.

My knowledge about an extension is shallow, then few cases i know, wasn't in applicant's favour. And this sincerely is no intent to scare.
All options are yours to tick and rule out, you understand your circumstances better and would do the best in your interest.

Thank you for your advice. I will weigh my options. I am just afraid not to be caught up with any cancellation (while outside the UK) or travel restriction as it happened to me last year. The July booking is my 4th booking and I've not written the test. UAE was on the UK red list for almost 1 year.

In my experience with visa extensions (US), you will have your passport with you throughout the process, when your extension is approved you will just get a letter and not a new sticker. I will recommend you travel and extend your visa but that's my personal opinion.
You mean UK extension?
Thank you very much.

It's very unfortunate situation you found yourself.

I think you should apply for a new visa 2 months before the current visa expires and state the reason for your application and date for your exam. If you have money, you can apply for 2years visa in your next application to avoid all these stress of visa applications. You should get it.

All the best in your exam.
Well noted and thank you for your best wishes.

After I cancel, would they send me a mail to tell me when I will get my passport? Or would they respond immediately so I’ll know they’ve acknowledged it. Or how long it’ll take for them to respond

Besides I’ll need my passport very soon, so I’m trying to see what to do, not that I’ve canceled already

Just an important question/knowledge sharing needed please.

10 Years Bank Completed Last year so new Family Visit intend to be submitted next month.
Would the Ban still be taken into consideration ?
Also so i need to complete a Yes to have you been deported or banned in the last 5/10 years question ? As this is over 10 years anyway.
10 years ban is completed and circumstance has changed , so I am considering inviting my brother and his family on a family visit to the UK . Just wondering if there will be a noise again around the 10yrs ban
ofcourse you must declare the UK ban. 10 years or not.

11 working days today and I am yet to hear from UKVI as regards my BRP letter… Can’t book my flight because I don’t have the letter and Cost of flights is increasing daily, I have just few days left before my vignette expires….
Any advice on what I can do..?
NOTE: Sent 2 paid mails and someone called on my behalf in the UK
u dnt need to wait for the letter. You wint be asked for it at the border. You remember the post office filled on your application form for u to pick up the brp. If u approach there and are still not able to pick it up, follow it up with the brp team in the uk. Ur visa vignette is enough for you to travel into the uk from nigeria ma/sir

u can apply 3 months to the time. Please if you want to state that you will be spending 1 month in the uk for a 1 day exam pls provide extensive explanation of why this and show that you have accommodation as well finances covered x 10.
Ur form will carry the question what date are u planning to come into the uk- usually you would get a validity from one week before this date if it is for a later visa such as you are seeking

Hello again,

This might be a silly question, but my current passport is very new (renewed less than a month ago) and so the only travel history in it is my end of year vacation. However in my application I filled in my earlier travel history as well. Should I have scanned my old passport and included it in my documents? sad
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by evetyson(f): 6:50pm On Jan 13, 2022
Your new passport carries your old passport number that covers it. No need scanning it

I finally experienced the spam bot ban for over 24 hours. I couldn't like or comment and the thing kept logging me on and off.
Congratulations to everyone who has received pick-up emails, and to those still waiting please hang on a little while it's almost here.
