OlawaleBammie: After the wide blackish on Messi, if Messi is called for next year Balon d'Or he will on his own reject it. Everyone has conscience and Messi is fully aware that the cheating on Lew have dented his image among football players and fans. 2 Likes 1 Share |

OlawaleBammie: Wesley Snidja and now Lew, we all are clearly aware that Messi have not scored 5 goals for PSG this season and he is struggling, maybe at the end of the season with only French league, he will still be called for Balon d' Or again. 1 Like |

DareyFortified:Ask the voters......Even Ahmed Musa voted. Ahmed Musa(Nigeria Captain) vote. Nigeria's National soccer team captain Ahmed Musa, voting order for FIFA mens player of the year. Salisu Yusuf (Asst. Coach), voted for Rohr: The votes are not from journalists but from those who play the game. Very Very Very credible |

Jokerman:Yes it is. Sorry to burst your bubble It's short-sightedness to call it 'France Football'. The Ballon d'or is the most prestigious individual award in the world of football. It goes beyond just France football. 1 Like 1 Share |

fergie001:Ok. I'm calm. But pls just explain how Mendy was the best goalie and didn't make the team of year? |
Re: The Best FIFA Football Awards 2021 Winners (updates) by Invitationn: 12:22pm On Jan 18, 2022 |
Pandorah:Keep deceiving yourself. It's the Ballon d'or, you probably already know. Facts. Ballon d'or first edition was in 1956 while FIFA started their award in 91. They went on to partner with Ballon d'or between 2010-2015 having a joint name 'FIFA Ballon d'or'. This obviously was in FIFA's desperate search for credibility Infantino came in 2015 and thought it's a shame a$$licking the Ballon d'or, terminating the partnership as a result, then created a new award 'The Best' in 2016; it's the name that's probably deceiving you, "The Best". FIFA has changed names 2times since 1991; from the parent name, FIFA World player of the year to FIFA Ballon d'or to The Best FIFA Football Awards. All along Ballon d'or remain as honorable and as prestigious as ever. You see 1 Like 1 Share |

ThierryJay: This is actually the main award. Ballon D'Or is organised by a French media outlet for players based in Europe. Fifa best award is a global award where all coaches, team captains from all FIFA nations participate 2 Likes |

DareyFortified:Shoot which leg? Is Musa not the Captain of the National Team?...or you don't know that unlike Ballon d'Or, all Captains and Coaches of National Teams vote?...or you don't know that Conte was on the original list? He voted his choice...... |
Re: The Best FIFA Football Awards 2021 Winners (updates) by DareyFortified: 1:45pm On Jan 18, 2022 |
fergie001: Exactly what I'm saying. There is no perfect voting system since everyone is just voting who they want not who deserves to be voted for. This years Fifa award is more shitty than ballon d'Or sef. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Re: The Best FIFA Football Awards 2021 Winners (updates) by fergie001: 1:58pm On Jan 18, 2022 |
DareyFortified:Is the Ballon d'Or not voting as well? That one is not perfect either, because it is journalists accredited by L'Equippe that votes. This one is mainly voted for by the people who play the game. Even Nigeria sef, sometimes our voting get as e dey be....There is no perfect voting system because those who votes are imperfect themselves. 1 Like |

fergie001:Lolz. Seems you misunderstand the word credibility in this particular context. The voting system is based on individual opinion and choice rather than credibility. I can decide to vote for a person cos I like him, even though he might not really have deserved it. I think the only way to get it right, is to set aside certain persons who would specialize in the Analysis and Decision making. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: The Best FIFA Football Awards 2021 Winners (updates) by fergie001: 2:59pm On Jan 18, 2022 |
Gbest90:What will be the criteria of those people you set aside? Will those people be assumed perfect? This is the best and only way. If over 100+ Countries vote and you term it less credible, what will you say if a few people are selected to do same? The uproar will be vociferous. Will it not be worse? In Nigeria, do we select a few people to vote for Presidency or Guber elections? 1 Like 1 Share |

fergie001:They could be ex ballers or you know. And no, they won't be assumed perfect but their decisions will be Statistically Oriented, rather than being mere opinions. They would then be able to back their decisions up with factual reasons. I get ur point sha. But it doesn't change the fact that the current voting system is prone to bias. |
Re: The Best FIFA Football Awards 2021 Winners (updates) by fergie001: 3:33pm On Jan 18, 2022 |
Gbest90:Nothing like reasons.....Yesterday, Messi or Lewy could have been crowned and yet many will argue it was deserved. Opinions of over 300 people cannot be mere? Even as ex-players many still share loyalties to their clubs or players. Imagine, putting Puyol on a list involving Messi, or Kahn in a list involving Lewy or maybe you want to know who Ferdinand will pick when it's his turn? This is the best way. 1 Like |
