Maduka is now getting his accolades on that Egypt save

It was a vital save, because it got us a clean sheet and set us off on this winning streak

Psychologically speaking, that save was massive
Not taking anything away from the save but Ekong's challenge on Salah made it easier for Maduka

On the flipside, Tunisia has gotten 3 Penalties so far in this tournament, and have scored none.

Hopefully they don't get that far to cause such. I'm sure they'll wana prepare for such tricks. They should however get ready too. cool

The 2023 afcon preliminary draws is currently ongoing.... CIV are ready. Amuneke currently talking.

Its like Pinnick wants Presido o. Good for him if he's onto that.

As for Olisa Ndah in PSL, this should open a doorway down south for Nigerian footballers to use as a stepping stone. The rave is similar to Akpeyi's.

see as Super Eagles brand is growing under him,
And with this beautiful attacking football Austin and Eagles are playing, the sky is ours for the taking

Sorry to say but Amaju is a doofus.. What time does the manager have to speak with the boys? Will they ask the ref for additional time? These are highly trained athletes. The only people that should speak to them at HT are the coaches.

This is Nigeria where chairman of a club will instruct a coach to change a player and NFF chairman will be the one dishing out tactics to the players. If "they" know they can do the coaching why hire a coach?

I will not fail to give credits to Moses Simon for his hard work , mesmerizing runs and dribbles , but I will not say Moses Simon is our best player in this tournament yet.

REASON:

His end product is still very poor and leaves very little to celebrate. Moses needs to play with his eyes up and learn when to release the ball and create goalscoring chances.

His free kicks are nothing to write home about.
His corners are rarely on target.
He dribbles and runs a lot but at the end he almost always lost unproductive.

People have rated him our best player in the tournament but I disagree with that based on the fact such ratings should have the stats to back it up.

Moses has score a goal.
Kelechi has scored one and created one.
Aribo has created one.
Ekong has scored one.
Awoniyi has scored one.
Sadiq has scored one.

But , I am always ready to accept criticism when I am wrong , perhaps there is something about Moses Simon I am not seeing but based on my observations I would not call him our best player , yet.

Those of you who are calling him our best I will like to know how you came to that conclusion. Is there something he is doing which I am not taking note of ? What measurements did you guys used to arrive to that judgement ?

Educate me , guys , on this our best player and his contributions...thanks

So far, after the three matches who you do think Is our best player? Who is your top three?

No dey use name

Do you know how many people from Kaduna, Plateau, and Adamawa especially that have two English names? Is Emmanuel Dennis with two English names not from Adamawa?

You see how nobody gave his own matter any ethnic coloration, because people made assumptions of his ethnicity, but come out with an ethnic name in Nigeria, and see how you get polarising treatment. It is an issue across the board, and I find it funny how people who are repeat offenders of this same thing want to pick offence.

Go and call Simon aboki, you will see how nobody will say anything to you, but call Sadiq same thing, and people are forming offended

Why can't they be offended on behalf of the ones with English names?

A secondary school mate of Emmanuel Denis told me that Denis is from Kogi State. Even said Denis was not known for football when they were in secondary school.

It is supposed to be a soft skills everyone should have learnt on this thread — detecting troll comments.

Once you detect, you ignore. It's very irritating coming to see pages upon pages of back and forth argument on something we all know is trolling content

Tunisia camp has been hit by massive COVID-19 (hopefully they don't infect our players).

Currently 16 players and only an assistant coach (as the coach, goal keeper coach, physiotherapist - COVID-19 positive) is travelling to Garoua for their R16 encounter.

12 players plus other back room are positive for COVID-19 and would remain in limbe (isolation) and will play no part in the game vs Nigeria.

Players making the trip to Garoua:
Ben said/ Jmal / Haddedi / Abdi / Ifa / Talbi / Rekik / Skhiri / Ben Slimane / Aidouni / Hannibal / Rafia / Sliti / Msakni / Jaziri / Khaoui.

Source: @youssefmagra on Twitter
this is scary...how possible is it for our players to play with nose mask and gloves? They should use long sleeves and wear turtle neck under their jersey for that match. grin grin
There is no assurance that none of those travelling doesn't have covid already.

Tiv and Igala are both Benue.

You should not even be confusing any of those two states, because they are nowhere near each other. Benue is in the middle belt, North Central, Adamawa is all the way in the North East, right at the edge of the nation

Adamawa is the Northern state sharing a boundary with Cameroon
Wrong about Igala. Igala used to be in Benue until kogi state was created from parts of Kwara and Kogi in 1990. Benue State where I was born and brought up is made of the Tivs, Idoma, Igede, Utonkon.

Only as recently as three years ago did I learn that some Igala people are indigenous to Anambra state and it is one of the languages in which they give news in Anambra. Idenna come and shed some light.

Kogi is made of mostly Igalas, Okuns, Igbirras,

One of the journalists in Cameroon, says there is high competition in camp for a shirt. Under Rohr, people just used to show up for training without worry, because everyone knew who will start and who will play, but the same thing is not being seen under Eguaveon

He believes Nigeria has been a victim of two poor coaches in Rohr and Oliseh, and that is why fans believe the team has overpeaked
Peterside Idah said this yesterday on Sunrise Daily that he was told that previously under Rohr certain players would know two weeks to any of our match that they would be playing. He mentioned agents being responsible for this state of affairs but that now everyone has to hustle for a shirt
Imagine
Thing is that Eguavoen too fall prey to such wiles. But for now he's doing well

He said that in 2010 WC before our match against Greece, that Adenuga came and offered them a huge sum of money in dollars, omo him say that was how they forgot about the pending match and started discussing how to share the money.
Well we all know how that match ended.

The last time Nigeria played in Cameroon two players who scored for Nigeria are not with this current team.

My pick for our best player so far is

WILFRED NDIDI

He's been massive in our three group games.

He maintained the same intensity/consistency for 90 minutes in all the matches and did not drop off at any point during the games.

He's the Octopus whose legs nick off balls from our opponents, breaks their attack and he does it so neatly. He's in beast mode for us.

I guess it's one of the side effects letting the NFF become financially self sufficient. Everything starts becomes about money.

I don't put much stock on statistics.

The opinion I have formed from watching Nwakali in this competition is that he's just okay and not exceptional.

He's a midfielder with limited attributes and not versatile enough for the modern game.

He substracts more from our game than adds to it.
