Got my approved today at the 2nd attempt

1st attempt- August 19, both attempts in Abuja

my emergency appointment was approved on Monday.

I have been on the road since Monday so really couldn't prepare, therefore I revised the transcript I used earlier.

Differences between the 2 attempts

1. I switched jobs during this time(a bigger company)
2. The VO officer was different ( first time was the Korean, 2nd time is the white woman)
Congrats! Was it the white woman at the extreme right cubicle that interviewed you ?? Also, When you are settled, please share both transcripts. Also State other relevant information like COA, school, funding, sponsor etc

Sorry to hear that.

Documents you need to upload:
I-20,
Admission letter,
Sevis fee receipt,
DS-160,
MRV or VISA fee receipt - if you like.

Can’t tell why you weren’t approved. Would advise you give it another shot.

To me, Abuja still approves EA more than Lagos. Lagos declined my request and it was granted in Abuja.

Cheers!

Please does it mean that even if you apply for Visa first in Lagos and couldn't get a favourable date, you can apply for emergency in Abuja even though you chose lagos in your ds-160?

I think there's only one white woman in the Abuja embassy

The COA is 43k
Deficit : 43k

I am working with a Telecommunication company and I am also going to study the same course

she asked
1.where I was working.
I mentioned the company's name

2. how long I have been working

Just started working with them 5 months ago, although I have been in Telecommunications for almost a year but recently switched jobs

3. how I intend using the degree
I will be a line manager when I return to my present company

4. parents occupation
My father is a cost consultant that is quantity surveyor. while my mom is an accountant with a federal ministry

can't remember the transcript exactly because I didn't memorize it before the interview day and some answers I gave were on the spot answers

I think it's mostly the DS 160 that matters most.
It's like a CV checked before the main interview

Did your company give you official study leave to go for your masters ? And are they the one sponsoring you ?

I'm sorry I'm posting my transcript late but better late than never.
God alone showed me mercy and made this possible.
I want to thank everyone that has ever posted their transcript,  it's helped me in so many ways.

Interview
Location - Abuja
Date - 14th Jan 2022
Vo - Windows 8... not sure jare, tension of all the denial I saw no let me see road... it's the white bald guy sha.
Funding - 6,000
Deficit - 24,100

Me - Hi, Good morning..... with a smile to get myself a bit relaxed.

Vo - Good morning, please pass me your documents.......

Vo - Have you ever travelled out of Nigeria
Me - No, I haven't

Vo - what do you currently do?
Me - I work at ******* bank in the department of *********

Vo - I can see you are going for your masters in bioengineering, so why this course
Me - Upon my return to Nigeria,  I want to work as a research scientist at the renowned Nigeria Institute of Medical research and i have done some enquiries and realized that I need a masters in bioengineering or any related field to enable me get into that position.

Vo - Are you married?
Me - No, I'm in a relationship (tension made me say that....lol)

Vo - I can see you have some funding from the physics department.
Me - Yeah... it's a Teaching assistantship funding and i will be taking 2 lab sessions in a week, I will be assisting with grading of assignments and tests for students and also preparation of course material..... (he didn't ask what I will be doing but felt the need to explain so he will know I know what my duties entail)

Vo - Your dad is paying for the balance as stated in your i20 right
Me - yes sir, he is a successful business man who is into the importation and distribution of ***. He has branches in Abia, Owerri and Enugu. He also has 4 houses in Abia and 3 in Owerri which are on rent.

Vo -  Types for what seemed like forever...... Everything seems okay, I will be approving your blah blah..... I no hear anything again.
Me - Thank you sir and have a nice day.

Ps... he didn't ask for a single document.
While all the denial were flying around I kept praying and asking God to come and do what only him can do.
I was really worried that he might ask why i haven't resumed as 6th Jan was written on my i20 and my school insisted on getting a visa before they can issue an updated i20 even though I printed email correspondence to show that I have started one online class. That means I didn't go with an extension letter even though my school had already resumed.
In all, God showed up for me and outdid himself as usual.

I tap into this grace, congratulations

Good morning All,
Thanks for the good work you all put on this platform for the newbies like me. I have a pressing issue that needs urgent positive response.
I applied for b1/b2 visit visa last March while the earliest available date for appointment was Jan 4th which I sharply picked it. However, on the 23rd of December, 2021 I got a msg from NIV that my appointment of the above date has been rescheduled to Feb 02. I was confused at first but it still work with my intended date of arrival and annual leave for April. I had to make some little changes on my DS 160 form.
What baffled me most is waking up this morning to see another new msg from NIV that my appointment date has been rescheduled again for August 8. I'm so shocked  and confused atm. How on Earth is that possible (6months loun loun)! My questions are;
- What necessary steps should I take to revert the latest msg?
- Should I still go to the embassy on the 2nd of February?
- Could this be possible/natural cos I know the validity of the visa fee is 1 year?
- I hope that my application is still valid/active cos people are paying/bribing for earliest date?
- Can someone help me with the Lagos embassy COMPLAINT contacts?

The message I got from USVisaNGA goes as follows;
"Your NIV appointment at the US Consulate has been rescheduled. Please check your email for more details".

Pls your urgent positive responses would be helpful

Oh yes.

But you’d be needing to fill in another DS-160 form to show Abuja and update same ID on your cgi profile.

Cheers!

Good morning everyone.

Please this is my first time attending the visa interview and I would be needing your assistance with the checklist of items I need to attend the visa interview. I just got a visa appointment date yesterday for Monday 31st of January, 2022 at Abuja and I would be traveling from Lagos.

Additionally, I secured a loan with MPower financing and I wanted to know if it’s safe to mention it when asked source of funding.

Please I need your advice house..

Hello.
1. None. Its a No-reply email.

2. You'd try if you're free and close to the lagos embassy.

3. Very possible. Appointment rescheduling been happening for long. You need not worry about paying a new visa fee since they already rescheduled you to a date in August.

4. Don't worry about that.

Thanks a lot but Please

1. Does Filling another DS-160 form entail paying another Visa fee since I have entered the previous receipt reference number on my CGI profile already.

2. Can I fill another ds-160 now and choose Abuja since Lagos seems congested or should I just wait till I am ready for emergency?

It's ok to mention mpower financing, they are well known. Just be prepared to answer various questions about them.

I think just the 2 Covid shots is okay to travel. You can then collect booster shot when you touch down (if you qualify).
Best of luck

There's but a very slim chance. You will most likely be advised to return to your country to apply for F1. So it's not a good plan in my opinion

So you'll advise me not to go for the football tournament in the united states
