We are 8 in the house. Fortunately we are all very fine to the core. Unfortunately we were from a poor home and went into the street early and that drove that attitude ur passing through right now away from us. Now we are all grown and doing well. Complements don't mean shiiit to any of us. The moment u start complimenting any one of us, we shift because we know ur trying to soften us inorder to get into us.
It's one thing to be born looking sweet and all that, but it's another thing to be street wise.
Summary of all, u fucccking need to grow up and learn to deal with shit when the come along. Keep ur hands clean always and pretend not to hear compliments when they come. Always stand ur ground when they come and be quick to change the conversation. It will pass a massage to such person that ur not interested in that conversation...period!!!

There are lots of "fine" people living in that same country who are not depressed and doing OK as individuals.

Depression is a mental problem that has no connection to your skin deep perception of self. Please do not continue to blur the lines that exist between that which is only skin deep and that which pretty much defines you as an individual- your mental. Seek the aide of a professional mental health care professional to aide you in overcoming your depression and self-esteem issues abeg! Even in Nigeria, you can have a better quality of life if you want it.

I work hard to earn everything the right way, and I'm highly productive but anytime a colleague or team mate talks about my appearance I just lose confidence. I have left a lot of groups and teams because of this. When people start talking to me about it I just don't feel comfortable.

I have a lot of girls and I know I worked hard to get them. But they keep telling me it's just my looks that's giving me their attention without stress but I don't believe that, I believe I work hard to get them.

This is beginning to affect my work. Some people don't believe I got to where I am because of hard work. I have worked so hard and I don't want to be throwing things away simply because of this.

For the fine boys and girls in the house, pls how do you handle compliments without appearing proud and egotistical? How do you handle it without being weird?

Sometimes its hard to pretend. I had a beautiful chinese lady walk up to me in a busy international airport terminal about 5 years ago. She stood in my face and said " I am sorry, you look very sexy".
I was speechless!. didn't know what to say for couple of seconds.

The problem is not you. The problem is that humans beings, in reality, are not interested in hard work and all that stuff. They prefer an OBO story to an Ojuelegba story.

Those compliments should increase your confidence instead since you are in a position to get what you want with little effort.

one thing that makes me angry in this country is the justice system..Rape everywhere and most times the rapist are freed,ritualistis,fraudsters and most times you are very sure they are not prosecuted. The thing dey tire me seriously.every Friday I just have to take alcohol to relax my mind.Govt doesn't care,police na foolish people,soilders always intimidating people.women will love you for what you have not who you are,everyone is just fake except my family.Friends wud try to bring you down because they feel inadequate.no genuine love anywhere.infact like I said I know I will be happier if I travel out..no doubt.
