I feel it depends on the airline, the airpeace flight to the east I and my colleague checked in the office was all booked to even early next month which means patronage is still high even with the high cost. Annoying part is they're all pegged at 50k, regardless where you're going to within Nigeria.

You dey underestimate those travel agencies?

Go and start your "Owambe Airlines" and sell tickets for free.. What do you know about business?
A business man is in it to make profit! He's not your father Christmas. You can't be supporting a very clueless and unintelligent government that doesn't know how to make the business environment conducive for businesses, while encouraging entrepreneurs to keep the prices of goods and services low. That shows how daft and dense you an your weird principals are...

While you are partly right, I think you misunderstood his point of view. Revenue is a function of both sales volume (number of passengers) and price (cost of ticket). Not price alone. Given that the cost of transporting the aircraft from one location to another with or without passengers is fairly constant, it would have been wise for them to make the increment at a reasonable rate…say 40k. This is an optimization problem and the parameters involved are sales volume and selling price. Ramping the price by additional 10k has greatly reduced their revenue since the effect of reduction in sales volume (increase price reduces quantity demanded) is very significant. Since the cost of transporting the aircraft remains the same, the result will be a drastic reduction in revenue hence reducing profit or even incurring losses.

40k = USD80....for relatively short distances.....it ain't cheap....

Basically, Buhari is about to kill the airline industry too?
I hope you all know that these are jobs, businesses and investments that are about being decimated by a totally inebriated president, who doesn't know his left from his right. The soaring forex rates and the increasing cost of aviation fuel contributed to this. In all this, all the president is interested in, is "grazing routes" and his brothers in zinder and marada in Niger republic..
He will never understand that your English

I think Road travel is actually fine....

When air passenger volume decreases and their costs remain constant, many airlines will go out of business.....

Nigerians will always adjust

That is the secret these people will always use to deal with Nigerians

Both politicians and business owners

It won't take a long time andwe will start paying the new tariff

Why can't they tell their customers about the change in oeuvre and also notify them on when it will be implemented

Is that not how to run businesses?

oga it was announced
thats why this thread was created
and nigerians wont adjust
watch as this example will be the norm

Do we usually have a downward slope after an upward slope in prices in the country?

We shall definitely get to the destination of the current route this country is on,

That is not true. The op knows he didn't pay 50k for green africa flight to his destination

This is the price of green africa ticket lagos to abuja for the 3rd of march.

Infact green Africa has different price for different customers.

You pay less if you have a bag that weighs 7kg or less but pay more if your bag weigh more than 7kg.

You don't know your airlines if you don't know who he's flying.

If it's a domestic flight then they are all thieves and that guy on the plane is also a thieve, and the rest of them who boarded the plane with the 50k thing are also thieves they should be joined with Abba kyari or Evans

Silicon valley is still reaping colonial spoils that belongs rightfully to the native Americans.

The western Europeans are savages who need both aboriginal and African civilization so they can become civilized
Which silicon valley is reaping colonial spoils? See, accountability has really helped the west, they frown strongly on corruption unlike what we have here.

If they don't have strong institutions that deal with nasty issues that drag down the whole society, they wouldn't be where they are today.

Meanwhile, flight from Copenhagen to London (Return Ticket) is 481.91 (DKK)Danish Krones which is about 30,500 Naira.

Oh, it's usually cheaper during holidays like Easter and Christmas. It was about 13K Naira plus during Christmas.

Nigeria is too expensive for a poor country.

We too greedy for this country

They get funding from the same banks that hold and have utilized profits from large scale brigandage, theft and chattel slavery. They did not return those dividends.

Invariably, are you saying that without those looted funds plus interests held in their vaults, the west banks would have been crippled.

Exactly! Just my thoughts too! Nigerian entrepreneurs can be greedy atimes without weighing the consequences of customer loss to their business. This is an example.

You well? They said 30% of the ticket is for aviation fuel, 10% for FG, NAHCO has it's own etc. Why the bottlenecks in aviation industry?

Flight is supposed to be very cheap means of transportation. We do not construct road from city A to B. Just have standard airport and you are good to go.
