Men don't find it intimidating, they just have a preference. Also women tend to emphasize their specifications on wanting to date taller guys. If you're taller than the average guy, they probably reason you'd go for taller guys so they don't easily approach you.

Although, the guy who said it is relatively short. I don't prefer shorter guys. I like taller guys, and by the will of Allah, I will love to marry one. The guy just said it generally not excluding the fact that even tall guys get intimated by tall ladies.
