Call. You will be informed if the visa has been approved

Ok then it’s just the waiting game, at least you know they haven’t made a decision yet.

A 5 year old is a minor and must be accompanied. My 16 year old son cannot travel alone and has to be accompanied by either or both of his parents. I doubt if any airline will accept a 5 year old ... Ask though. It might be possible.

Which airline is that? I travelled as a 16 year old when I was younger, all they need is a form from your parent. Even British airways would allow you to at the age of 14.

You can pay some airline fees for unaccompanied minor from the age of 5 - 14 years old.

Guys,
Pls what's the best airline to use from Lagos to UK?
One that won't need a transit visa

British airways and virgin Atlantic, nonstop to LHR………both of them are pricey

Morning everyone,

I want to book an appointment at the TLS for scanning of my documents, now I have many of the documents in soft copy already. Do I have to print them all out?

Can my soft copy be accepted and worked on to the appropriate size at the TLS?

Please advice.

Thanks

If you doing self-service, you can easily resize and upload the docs yourself on the TLS app.
If assisted service, you would have to print them on A4 and visit the TLS center with them to be uploaded for you.

Hi Amelia,

Please I need your advise ❤️
Here’s my situation atm
My name is Uzo.

I’m 25.
I’ll like to apply for uk visiting visa.
Can I apply with a balance of 1.5m ?
My uncle(late dads brother ) is a Uk citizen and he’ll be sending a letter of invitation so I’ll be staying with him for about 10 days during the trip.

What’s the best way to breakdown my situation to the visa officer.

Should I state I’ll be paying my ticket myself and would have extra 200 pounds for shopping while my uncle would cater for accommodation, feeding etc

Im also getting prepared to submit my Canadian visa application so I’ve built my account with salary to show monthly (300k )

What’s the best way to package my application.
How many month bank statement do I need?

I look forward to your response.

Thanks ❤️
AmeliaT:
I don't think it works that way. People with a 5m balance can get rejected while others with 1m get the visa.

1 Do not resort to inflation, sending through large deposits within the six-month period. So, money should definitely have been there before the 6 months; talkless of 30 days.

2 The money isn't meant to be idle. That's trying to game the system and you'll be flagged. Spend as you normally would in your personal account, leaving some each month so that is accumulated to a healthy balance. Your balance will be reviewed versus your claimed income, expenses and proof of job or business.

3 Review the statement first before you indicate your income, expenditure, and budget. Make sure the annual income matches the statement income. Annual income should ideally be X2 of your 6month statement. The expenditure should also follow the same principles.

4 Budget for the trip should ideally not exceed 2 months’ income. There is no hard and fast rule about this, but people have been rejected for a budget that was X4 their income.

5 However, ensure this budget covers your entire trip. Breakdown flight, accommodation, food, transport and a little bit for shopping and entertainment (not mandatory). Below is my personal budget guide which I came up with myself and is by no means prescriptive, but you can review, and tweak as needed. This will help guide to ensure your budget, length of trip and available balance are all in sync.
Flight- £564
Accommodation- £50/Day (unless you’re staying with a friend)
Food- £20/day
Transport- £10-15/day

Optional
Shopping- Variable
Entertainment- Variable

6 I personally advise that you try to ensure that the available balance in your account is 2X the budget for the trip. Because they expect that you have funds to go back to when you get back home. So, you can use your available balance to work backwards to see the budget you have available for the trip and therefore the number of days you can afford to stay. Others have gotten their visa with a 500k balance but it’s better safe than sorry.

These are my thoughts and of course there have been exceptions to the rules, both positive and negative. All the best!

Btw, in the spirit of learning, what document should the op show as proof that the exams is only held in in Manchester city, England?

They should state that in their cover letter. Also attach the plab 2 booking confirmation with the address showing.

Hi Everyone,

By the time I will submit my UK VISA (student visa) application, I would have 5 months left before my passport expires.

Can I use it in my UK VISA application??
Thanks
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Mattycoke: 8:17pm On Mar 20, 2022
To cut the cost the applicant can get on a weekly bus which costs £23 in London and book a shared hostel. Adding shopping fee to an application is not mandatory.

A quick question please, for someone whose visa is been sponsored, can the part where the amount of money the person intends spending in the UK personally be written as zero since the person is being sponsored financially or should we just write something down?

This question is a bit confusing. When I sponsor my children, I always write the amount of money I will spend for each child - usually between 1,200 and 1,500. I did the same for our recent visa application with no issues.

I suggest you indicate that it's a family visit. Your Uncle will be reponsible for your accomodation and feeding. With about 1,500 you will be fine. That will be for your ticket and sundry expenses. Six months statement is fine. Good luck

I just got a refusal letter from UKVI today. I filled the visa application to the best of my ability and didn't lie, but I was still bounced.

I wanted to go on a business visit as a top management staff of my organisation for an industry event. I submitted my salary account and my other savings account where I have little about 2million naira. My monthly pay is 450k total gross (250k salary and 200k allowance paid separately). With the tax deduction on salary, my net is 405k which was what I declared. My savings account is where I collect money from other investments like rents on property and proceeds from side businesses. The visa office said they couldn't ascertain the income and doubted the sources of funds in my savings account and so denied even without a right to appeal. All the funds are mine and my letter of employment stating salary income was submitted. The refusal letter is here attached.

I am considering applying for a UK student visa for September 2022. Will this current refusal affect my student visa application later in the year? Kindly advise before I burn another money. I will gladly look in another direction for my masters if UK will not allow it.

So sorry about the refusal. If the company you applied with is yours . Attached the company statement of account showing the source of your income.

Apologies for the late response. I was on holiday and didn't log in. Please use the guide I sent. That should answer your question. Breakdown the entire cost- What you spend, remove it from balance and ensure you still have at least half available. Your uncle can provide food and housing, yea.

Hey fam,

Long time. Was on holiday for about a month. My husband used his visa twice.
Once in February for an 8 day stay and then again in March for 4 days.
First time- Question asked at POA was what our relationship was and how long he's staying for.
Second time- He was asked- Are you visiting and that was it.

All the best, guys!

Good people, I did biometrics and submitted documents (without passport) on December 3, 2021. Yet to get any response on application but recently received a mail from UKVI to complete an online survey. Anyone familiar with this survey? At what point is survey sent out? Is it after application review completion or is it random? Will appreciate thoughts

They usually send a survey when they respond to a paid mail to ask if their response/service was satisfactory. Not sure if this is what you got.

I did Biometrics on Jan 11, kept my passport too...still waiting. Sent more than 4 paid mails and 2 phone calls to escalate...Same response - a decision has been made.

I haven't got a decision mail yet. I wonder if it would have been better to have given them the passport !

Thank you for the response. Please can you tell me what documents my Uncle has to provide for my sister as her sponsor, apart from his account statement, ID card and a letter of sponsorship. She is attaching her (account statement, evidence from school to confirm her studentship, ID card) because she filled that she will be spending 100k for shopping but my Uncle will be paying for flight and other expenses.

Six months should be fine. I've used four months with no issues but I prefer to use six months. I used four months when I started a new job and I hadn't worked for six months before I applied. I got the visa. My husband usually provides statement for one year as he is a businessman. Generally, six months is fine. Good luck!
