A friend of mine lost an opportunity to work for jp morgan as copywriter. According to email he received he's fit for the position but can't be considered due to his nationality. #lala pls push to front page for wider audience. Pls share your experience.

I very much doubt JP Morgan would send such a mail. Your friend most likely assumed it is because of his nationality. It makes him feel better, but it doesn’t mean it is the truth.

You can backup your data and restore Dem whenever you are ready, ofcos u av to renew after one year, your domain name expires exactly one year and your hosting package but it not as expensive as you think.

Okay thank you. One final question, if the website ever has a glitch, can I fix it myself or do I need to contact you, the sitebuilder, or can any techie person help out?

I can help you but if you know how to do it yourself, you can do it too.

Thank you. My only concern is that we don't live close so if it's something I can't do, you won't be readily to hand.

You should have taken the job and find places. Bet9ja shops must always have light. Fast foods and some hotels always have light. There is a hotel I Know that's is always on light. What you do is buy something. Go to the Vip lounge and buy water 500...you dey there till night. If you drink, buy beer. I Know people that do it daily !!

Their is no way a reputable company like J.P. Morgan will give such an excuse to decline employment. They dare not use nationality as a basis for employment and still spell it out in a letter. They can be taking to court if such letter exist.

Yes, I remembered working for a popular Canadian website community with over 200,000 members as an SEO expert. I worked 2 to 3 hrs per day from Monday to Friday, and I was paid $200 per week back then. The CEO complained that he can't pay a Nigerian that much because the minimum wage in Nigeria was barely $70. He later terminates the job after 2 weeks because he feels I am earning too much as a Nigerian.

He his lying, i can guarantee you 100%. He was trying bait you into receiving a lower pay because he knows how much Nigerians earn.

Work is measured by effort and location, not just location only. You are putting in the same effort someone in Canada is putting in, ontop of non-enabling environment such as Nigeria where you have to buy your own fuel and fix your own water. Whatever value that $200 dollars is in Canada is a fraction of what he pays Canadians, it should be a win for him, but because he wants to be callous, he decided to bait you.

Please look forward to better jobs, he is a user.

I lost out on a $1200 per week job few months ago because i mentioned the word, Nigeria. I was supposed to earn roughly $5,000 monthly and the project was to continue for a year plus. I eminently qualified for it cause I met all the requirements they sought for.

It happens we move. I ended up getting a replacement with the same figure sha. Today I work with three major firms, One an Asian firm and two American firms. With the quality of projects I've pushed over the past year with them, they will never hire a non-Nigerian again. I made sure i over-deliver with every project to reinforce this narrative

Wow! Now I'm curios.

I think I'll need some really good tips from you.

He and his friend are both lying. JP Morgan that is definitely aware that it can cause Law Suits and cancel culture people to target them. They can never say anything close to that. In fact their rejection email sef fit almost confuse you because it may not sound like rejection.

As a nigerian also target smaller eu nations and those with little time zone difference

Yes, average EU countries like Poland and Lithuania.

Language could be a barrier too, Out of desperation years ago i contacted a Japanese company, during the interviews to hear them properly was trouble. Couldn't understand their poor English accent.

Many times. An Israeli was going to give me a content writing job. He need about 500k words but refused giving me the moment he knew he was paying to Nigeria.

I however don't mind such people for everyone 3 rejections I get 1 very good client who is not judgemental.

Eweeeeeeey!

On Upwork, I have lost a lot of clients because I'm Nigerian.

I send them brilliant proposals for jobs I am very sure I can handle.. And I send these proposals when the total proposals submitted by other pitchers are not up to 3, but yet, I'm being dumped to the side... Nothing spoil, LinkedIn got my back, and Nairaland has been helpful too...

I'm Naija and I'm proud... We meuvvve

By the way, I'm available for your writing and graphics design jobs, see my signature below, thanks

So many are not computer programming related. I got a client that needed me only for email communication. All I did was respond to emails of aggrieved customers @ $8/hr for 40hrs/week. On the very first day of work, they were so condescending and insulting, I wondered if it was because I am a Nigerian abi that is their nature. I almost developed hypertension in those few hours, so I told them to end the contract and they did the next second.
