Visa Transcript
My profile:
Second master’s degree
Location: Abuja
COA: $36,500
Scholarship: $8,000
Status: Approved!!! (Window 9)

1st Attempt – Lagos, (December 1- surge date) MTSU
2nd Attempt - Abuja (9th March) MTSU.

After my first delay, I was disappointed and this is because I’ve been to the US couple of times and had two kids in between in the US. However, the Lagos VO wasn’t even interested in my I20 but more about my kids and my sister who was supposed to be in the US at the time but was in Nigeria trying to renew her F1 visa.

Anyway to the transcript proper, (questions in no particular order)

VO: Have you been to the US before? I see you are going to MTSU
Me: yes
VO: how many times and what did you go for?
Me: thrice, holiday with family and other times to have my babies
VO: So you have 2 America Citizens? Any other children
Me: yes, 2 citizens and no other child
VO: I see you are going to MTSU. What course and why?
VO: IT project management. I choose the course because while I was considering a career change and looking for a degree to empower my transition and offer me new and better opportunities, it came top on the list.
VO: Tell your study plan?
Me: for the successful completion of my course, I’m required to complete 30 credit semester with 2 years. I’ll be taking courses like IT project risk & recovery, IT planning & implementation, IT project strategies for success, applied business analytics, big data analytics amongst others (she was nodding and actively listening).
VO: why did you pick MTSU?
Me: I picked MTSU over my other admits because my graduate coordinator assured I could cope despite not having an IT background and most especially because I got 23% off my COA.
VO: How did you get it (scholarship)?
Me: well my school has merit scholarship for international students which is dependent on your GPA evaluation. In my case, I had 3.64/4.0 hence why I got it.
VO: Where did you do your bachelors and course?
Me: I graduated from xxxx University here in Nigeria and studied Tourism management.
VO: So what did you do in the UK?
Me: Well I had a master’s degree there in 2013 and I have since returned back to Nigeria.
VO: (still nodding) So you don’t intend to work in US?
Me: Not at all.
VO: So where do you work?
Me: I work at a federal government instruction and I intend to transfer from there to Galaxy Backbone Limited to take up the role of an IT project manager upon return to Nigeria.
VO: So this will be your second master’s degree.
Me: Yes, it will.
VO: Are you married?
Me: yes, I am married
VO: Will your husband and be going with you?
Me: No he won’t.
VO: I see you have a sister in the US, where does she live and school.
Me: She schools at Campbellsville University. (she interrupted, what location is that?) I replied oh it’s in Kentucky.
VO: Oh I see you had an interview in Lagos.
Me: I had an interview but I couldn’t get my visa so I deferred from spring 2022 to fall 2022.
VO: Ok ….. (she typed and typed, erased somethings too).
VO: I’ll be recommending you for the visa, take this white paper, it will tell you how to pick up at the VI location. Also kindly go with your I20, you’ll be needing it at the POE as its very important.
Me: thank you, thank you, thank you very much (with smiles).
VO: Its ok….(she smiled).

Things to note……
1. Oh my God, I prayed ehen because I was disappointed in Lagos as it was also my birth month and I got such a news on the first day of the month.
2. I immediately paid another visa fee same day but didn’t check for a date until January 2022.
3. I initially picked April 7 only to get a mail from the embassy that my appointment had been moved from April 7 to March 9. I got the notice 5 days prior to my interview date.
4. In answering why I was refused a visa in my DS160, I explained my ties back home as the reason why I can’t be going for long (I figured she was reading through them).
5. No documents was requested.

Done my own personal research and also read few pages of this thread. It is safe to say, I can be able to start this journey.

Prospective Fall applicant.
May Funding fall upon us, just like the dews fall upon the earth in the morning, o Lord.

For those in mechanical, or have passion for robotics and its applications in different fields like military, agriculture etc., you can check out Professor Daniel Flippo in Kansas State University.

He is looking for PhD students, and has funding readily available with a fully funded project with starting date which happens to be this Fall semester.

NB: Came across his page when doing my own research in that school. There is another lady professor who also needs PhD students, but I can't remember if it is same university or another university.

Hi, I had similar issue but I felt like my account was inactive due to the fact that I didn’t login into the portal for a month.
So I just wrote my email and did the forget password thingy. They sent a temporary password to my email and I was able to change the password and log back into my account.
So u can try that I guess

Thank you so much. Did this and I finally got back in.

Reset your password using forgot password.

CGI does not logout applicants. They only disable ability to view open dates after you login.

Thank you. I actually reset my password once and kinda didn't want to overdo it.

Any recent date for interview?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by dreambigg: 10:54pm On Mar 23, 2022
Good evening NLders,
I am honestly at a crossroad. I have a PhD admission (fully funded), and I have enough funds for living expenses for my dependents.

I am about to file for I-20. Please, do you advise I go alone first and request their own I-20 later or I should go ahead and do for all of us at once?

PLEASE I NEED PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR EXPERIENCE TO GUIDE ME PLEASE!

I am particularly confused because I have been hearing sad stories about both options as well as good stories about them.

I think before the debate on who is right or whether some divine help or grace exist or not, the said person should share his or her actual transcript because that was just a proposed one, but a larger % will agree that if the actual was something like the proposed, then only something extra ordinary will make the applicant get that visa IMO. In as much as we are not the VOs, we all posses little knowledge on the keypoints

But we really don't, even though we all want to believe that we do. As i said, you don't have a clue why the VOs grant some visas and deny others. You ascribe it to "something extra-ordinary"... when people from other countries can fly to the US without needing a visa.

Good morning. I trust we are doing great.

I am an incoming graduate student at the University of Delaware (Fall 2022). I have been trying to fill out the DS 160 form for the past three days now but I have encountered glitches that barely take me beyond the first registration page.

Please I want to confirm if anyone else is aware of this, and what can possibly be done about it.

Thank you.

Hello, imisi234

I'm also holding an offer for Fall '22 and University of Delaware. You mind if we connect? Please connect with me via the email on my signature or drop your contact email.

Be calm. It is not uncommon to experience glitches when filling DS 160. Make sure have a strong network connection while on the site. If necessary, you can also change the browser you've been using.

You can go with your spouse at the same time. How many dependents are you taking about? If have sufficient funds, it shouldn't be a problem.

Good morning guys.
I need clarification on my Sevis payment. I was to attend university of Illinois Springfield in fall 2021 but I could not, as I was denied so I never went to US. Now I plan on attending another school. I’m kind of lost because typically I don’t think I would have a Sevis record with UIS so there might not be anything to transfer.
Additionally, I saw on old thread here that I just need to contact my new school and have them send me a new sevis ID so I can input it the fjmpee portal and I’d be using the new one. Anyone with any idea about this should please assist. Thank you guys

Hi

Any marine engineering student here?

Please any recommendations for schools in US for masters in marine engineering without requiring GRE, IELTS and all?
If you check the link in my signature, the latest video I uploaded was on schools that fund a degree in engineering without GRE/ TOEFL requirement.

In this case, it is better you go for the WES evaluation option especially if you have a good or average GPA. It takes a shorter period of time to achieve this compared to doing excellently well In the GRE.

Thank you

they do. If you check my signature, the last video I uploaded was on schools that fully fund a degree in engineering without exam requirements.

When God came for Saul in the Bible ,did he believe there is God? The Bible says the Grace of God has appeared to all men, God is the creator of every mankind, irrespective of your religion,... but that doesn't rule out the fact that you still need to have a good ds-160 and other requirements,u have to play your part and God will play his part, thanks

Exactly, God's grace is for who it is for, whether you believe in him or not.Peace

Visa is based on certain criteria, yes. But then, i will agree with the review guy that the sponsorship part of the interview wasn’t solid but regardless he got it. Then again, that doesn’t mean that someone else will say the same thing and get the visa, so please let’s learn

Maybe the VO didn't even ask about his sponsor sef ,cos that was a proposed transcript .To be sincere, the sponsorship replies he gave was not it atall. How can a student in America be the one sponsoring you?.So na God's grace whether you like it or not.

Initiate renewal of passport. Use this current one (so far you get your visa before Aug 18, you are fine with it).
