Hello Gurus in this thread
As a first time UK visa applicant I need a clarification : when applying for UK visit visa as a business owner.
Is it compulsory to add tax clearance certificate?
Is it also compulsory to add business bank statement or only personal account that shows payments receive from business account as salary?
If I choose to upload all my documents do I still need to go to embassy with those documents?
Should i also upload my expired visas from other country ?
Thanks you in advance

Does anyone have a list of things to carry to TLC office for self-service subscribers?

Once you have uploaded all your stuff, the only things you need would be your passport, photocopy of your passport and your checklist.

How do I upload myself? I'm helping my mum with her visit visa process, and we are at the point of booking an appointment with TLS

So once you have paid the visa fees and IHS fees you would be redirected to the TLS Website. That’s where you choose which service that you want. You can choose a self service, assisted service etc.

Self service (You get to upload everything by yourself, stuffs like Bank statements, payslips, sponsors letters, accommodations etc or whatever is on your checklist)..

Assisted service (You would print off all your documents in A4 size and take it there for them to check over for you).

See the screenshot below.

So they have made a decision right? I have said it many times I learn a lot reading on here. Those that keep their passport wait longer, because TLS would not email to contact them to bring their passports once UKVI had made a decision.

Those that didn’t keep their passports can at least turn up at TLS after 15WD of being told by UKVI that a decision had already been made, but those who held on to their passports can only hope/pray and wait for the TLS email. Because what can they do if they go to TLS?

By keeping passport, do you mean holding on to it, or leaving it with TLS?

Thanks for your reply. I didn't see self-service, so I booked a slot at TLS. I paid for them to keep my passport until the notification from the UKVI. Is that alright or not?
Plus, do I need to do a tuberculosis test, as I'm applying for a visit visa?

keep passport is to keep passport with yourself not with TLS. This is about 27k.
Self service means uploading the documnts urslf while assisted service means TLS will do the uploadimg for u. Self service is free. Assisted service is about 12k naira.
U dnt need tb test for visit visa.
So what did u pay for?

You don’t need a TB cert as specified in the screenshot below. If you paid for assisted service then print all your documents on a A4 size paper and take everything with you, make sure you take your checklist with you too.

Not at all. The individual decision are based on each applicants case/documentation provided. Personally prefer the self service because you can go through your check list, upload everything yourself and then turn up with your passport, photocopy of your passport and checklist for your biometrics at TLS.

I paid for assisted service, courier return and also for them to hold my mum’s passport.

But I want to understand if paying N27k for them to hold the passport is worth it. Would it be faster or slower? If it is not so much of a good idea, can I get a refund on that particular service?

Hi
Keep passport option = you holding onto your passport during the time it will take UKVI to decide on your application. Per the outcome of their decision, you will then be contacted by TLS. You would be asked to submit the passport . TLS then sends to UKVI for the visa and when done will contact you again for pickup. In essence, when one pays for keep passprt, you hold onto passport and wait till whenever TLS will contact yu… You will then need to take the passport back to TLS.
To be frank, since it was introduced it has been a headache… most ppl have been here complaining on how TLS wastes so much time to contact them to bring the passprt. This is minus the time one has wasted in waiting for UKVI to make decision.
As per refund- you can send a message now to them through their link and see if u will be replied in time and/or fight for refund when your mom goes for biometrics

Thank you very much for your reply. I think I will apply for a refund. However, what is the regular waiting time now. I read that it could take up to six weeks. Is that correct?

Also, has anyone actually been refunded before?

Well said.

Please I need to get this clearer. Self Service u said is free and one can only do the documents uploading himself or herself while Assisted Service, all documents will be in A4 size and TLS will do the uploading themselves at a fee of about 12k.

Now I want to know, is there going to be a payment to do at TLS on the appointment day, if I chose Self Service. That is after doing all the documents upload at home myself free. I'm I expected to pay for anything again on that day.

For Assisted Service, I have my documents and 12k for the uploading service by TLS, I'm I still going to pay another money aside the 12k on that day.

Thank you

I understand you well bro. But asking for email, means you want to put person like me in the dark. Ask for whatever you need openly so that other gurus will tackle it too and people like me will learn too.

Mjisore, clearly stated how he has been silent reader here from day one. If others here had gone Private, I wonder how he would have managed to achieve it. Let's be more open here

Thank you for your understanding brotherly

Good morning.

So, my sister is a medical doctor at an NHS in Norwich. She wants to sponsor my Visit visa trip plus Accommodation and feeding for the period I will be there with her. We have the same surname and she will be giving me her 6 months statement of account from her bank over there to apply for the visa.

I have a business that I do but I only use my personal account to do transactions for my business. I don’t have a CAC either as proof of being a business person, just the descriptions on each transactions I make; money coming in and out. Sometimes 400k and above comes in and out of my account for a year now. Can I use my personal bank statement as for the 6 months statement of accounts or that won’t be possible?

OR
Do I just open a business account and start over from the beginning?

If I choose to keep my passport to myself till decision is made I pay for it what about keeping it with TLS do I need to also pay for it ?
I understand about assistant service which I pay for uploading document but If I choose self service where I do the uploading documents myself do I still have the option to drop or keep my passport?
Thanks in advance

Good morning,
I will go for my biometric capturing in Abuja next week.

My six months statement of account is about 121 pages. Do I have to print 121 pages and take to biometric centre? Is that not too much?
I no understand ooo.

Go to your bank and tell them you want to send your bank statement to the British High Commission. They would give you a form to fill where you would state the duration of the statement. Your account would be debited and your bank would give you just one page that contains a password that would enable the British High Commission to be able to see your statement from their end. It is just this one page you would upload on TLS. Even if your statement is 1,000 pages you would just upload one page while the British High Commission would be able to view the 1,000 pages.

This is how I uploaded my statements when I applied last year, visa was issued so the process works.

Not really, they also would just check what you have against the checklist, they would sign it once they see that you have everything on the list.
