For me the biggest con is starting afresh. It took me a while to make up my mind because of that about relocating to Canada because of that, but thank God I did. I got my license in about a year and half and now I'm practicing as a pharmacist.

The other issues people complain of are mostly personal. You can overcome loneliness if you are ready to socialize and make new friends.

Weather is bearable, just 2 months of bad weather (depending on province)

Con 1: Loneliness
If you are going as a student, this wouldn't be an issue for you as you will always meet your fellow Nigerians and other Africans on campus. There will always be afrocentric societies or events to join especially in countries like USA, UK, Canada etc... Another major solution is to find a Nigerian, Ghanaian, any black or multi-cultural church near you.. make sure to explore options before settling to become a member of a church.. RCCG is often a great place to start but make sure you are compatible with the crowd there.. this helps a lot.


Con 2: Strict laws
The laws are strict but that's the price to pay for a sane society that works. Don't bring Nigerian lawlessness here and expect to get away with it.. pay your taxes, do things through the right channel, obey the rules but never lose your humanity.

I just got an unconditional offer to study in a university in Birmingham.

Since i got the offer,my mind has not been settled!

I applied for a pre master because i have a 3rd class and the fee is 9,250£ while living cos t is 9,500£.

My fear now is that i hear there are no good paying jobs in the UK.

I think we need to be honest with ourselves here. Nigerians are well known for making a bad name for themselves. We are well known around the world for fraud. Unfortunately, the innocent ones end up paying a price

How can they differentiate between the Nigerians who are genuine, honest, and kind and the Nigerians who are liars, fraudsters, and thieves?

I honestly don't blame them for being afraid. Even us Nigerians, we are sometimes suspicious of the intentions of our fellow Nigerians

We can't deny the fact that Africans, Nigerians especially, have made a bad name for themselves. If we want people to feel safe with us, we need to start working on our reputation

I never worked in the west. Was a student (4 years in Maryland and 2 years in Edinburgh). In Nigeria my employer has also never owed me ( on my third job now). But I’m aware that some organisations face this challenge but my strategy has been to only work for well established multi-national organisations due to their stability and structure

I left Nigeria 23rd September 2020 to Spain, and my flight was 'Air France' so I landed in Paris airport.

I boarded Flix Bus going to Spain, inside the bus was a white man and a woman seated by my right side, and a group of Indians seated in front of me.

I noticed that the white people don't like seating next to black fortunately we are seated according to the numbers on the ticket, so they has no choice.

We had several stop by during the journey, the only thing that unit both of us was cigarettes.

You can ask a white person for cigarette, they are not stingy.

In Spain, you are not attended very well if you don't know Spanish and worst of it all if your black.

You can be walking towards a white person to ask for a direction, they'll begin to walk faster away from you

The best thing to do when you first arrived Europe, is to locate a security officer. Security officers speak English very well.

Before i left Spain to my final destination, it was a police officer who helped me to locate the Flix Bus company in Spain.

In Germany, racist is low.

They do you racist only in the 'Train' outside on the street, they are very friendly.

They can see you walking on the street, and they will come to you for pictures .

Sure. It varies from province to province. No matter the province, you have to write 3 PEBC exams, evaluating, MCQ and OSCE. After passing those, then you follow the provincial steps.
In ontario, if you pass all exams at one attempt, you go ahead with PACE ( a form of internship) the Jurisprudence.
Should take about a year and half to 2 years

I was older....finished with schooling so never had that opportunity to increase my friend base. Loneliness isn't a problem for me since my entire immediate family is over here as well as quite a few of my friends...... and most live less than 30 minutes away. Then due to work and the nature of work..... there is another set of "friends" .... that really are associates in that after work each gone his separate way ... not ones that one will normally go to their home or hang out. These are the ones people mainly refer to as their friends... have many White friends... have many Black friends etc. I do talk to a whole lot of people.... I know them... but I don't know them! Associates!

On Emeka .... each man has to bear his own weight here... no free rides. People love and cherish their privacy.... will accommodate you for mainly up to two weeks....after that.... you are no longer a welcomed guest.... disrupting the budget... disrupting the freedom in the house.... as in some people wear verrrry little or no clothes at home.... but Emeka is hovering in the house... can't even get out the shower butt naked.... time for Emeka to leave. Above this is you can establish residency in the house. Billionaires in Togo, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Chad, Burundi, Rwanda, Somalia, Haiti tend to mostly live in their country as their money ensures maximum comfort anywhere they choose to live, so this has nothing special to do with Nigeria.

Only reason I communicate with them is to learn their culture, mannerisms and lifestyle.

Apart from that, their friendships count for nothing for me anyways.

But what gets to me most are those their smiles even they literally hate you, I'd prefer you tell me to bugger off or be irritated rather than displaying the set of 32.
