Don't give them breathing space. Same reason i left my union bank account to be dormant. Mine was getting to almost a week before it was resolved, after I made a withdrawal request of 40k..the ATM counted the money but was unable to dispense the cash too. This happened at one of their branch at Ariaria int'l market. Op look at what i was told to do then coz social media is too powerful for them. Go to same twitter compose a detailed description about the said failed transaction with receipts as evidence so it doesn't look like you're goofing around. Tag all the necessary organizations like, CBN, EFCC, ICPC, including union bank...make it look like they have gotten your complaints severally but keep acting like they're unwilling to reverse your money. Ask your followers help you retweet the said Tweet and if the tweet blows up you might get your money back asap coz CBN policy stated that all failed electronic transaction should be reversed at the maximum of should be 7 days failure to do so attracts a penalty. On 19th April 2022, I went to use their ATM at about 8:10 a.m and I was debited N20k without cash dispense because the machine went off while counting the money due to power failure from the bank's generator house.
After 24hrs I went to their branch to lay a compliant and they acknowledged the dispense error and started that it will be reversed after 24hrs which did not happen.
I called their customer care line 2 days later and one of their agent told me that it will be reversed after 24hrs and that she has sent It for manual reversal.
Despite this I didn't get the reversal.
I again went to the bank last week Friday, 23rd April and the customer service apologized that it must be reversed that day which did not still happen.
I chatted them up on Twitter, and they claim that it has been reversed, and after proving that nothing has been reversed they stopped responding to my messages on Twitter.
I sent them a mail and they didn't respond till yesterday, where they stated that the issue will be resolve within 48 hours.
Nothing has happened yet.
I tried calling their their customer service now and I noticed that I can no longer reach them with my two lines, probably they blocked my line.
P.s; I am fully aware that they have breached their obligation in respect to banker-customer relationship and that I would be entitled to damages if I sue them for this.
But the truth is, instituting a legal action now would be too expensive for me coupled with the litigation process.
Please what do you suggest I do apart from litigation? Go to twitter..tweet your complains..Tag CBN and your bank together to that effect..You’ll get your money as soon as possible..Try it..it works.. 1 Like |

If your complaint is as stated, do a letter to union bank address it to head of internal control with a copy to inspection department and CBN dispute resolution department. Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly told his teammates he will be going at the end of the season and also left the squad’s WhatsApp group.

Then make so much noise, so that customers in the banking hall will be videoing you and while at it go in Facebook live for the world to see. These Nigerian banks lack customer service, and they won't answer you if you don't expose them. Like I said go with all your printed evidence. One Port Harcourt based women trended in Feb or March on social media for dealing with a bank that debited her #150,000. She begged for her money, they include her. When she went there to shout, going on Facebook live right in that banking hall, it even made got to Instablog sef. They finally credited her account with so much apology calls from the bank. Nigerian banks eh. If you are gentle they will scrape your hair. Another lady just last week debited #750,000/was seen on video jumping in the banking hall. Ogbeni, you are too quiet, go and show them shege. And once it is reversed, carry your money and you can close the account. |

Go to the official website of Union bank, obtain their head office email or complains contact.
Write a complaints mail to the email indicating the date of transaction, branch and ATM location, the dates of you complained at the branch office with proofs if possible. Remember to state your full details for the account in question and watch as the head office puts everyone concerned on their toes |

A good phone call to customer service should fix your issue, get your facts together before calling. Man, you shouldn’t have slept on it this long, November last year seems like an eternity.
They must hear you las las, I just hope say you no go naked for banking hall that day. Lol I have gone to the bank already and they are like turning me up and down. Telling me that eco bank doesn't want to release my money. I even went to the eco bank, those ones sent me back to my bank saying the money is not with them. |

If you are a union bank customer then ,they are all mad I see no reason why they can't do manual reversal after several complain ..if you are customer to a particular bank and you use their machine with their card and you are debited they can reverse there and now if you complain ,although transaction as such are treated on merit because reconciliation comes the next day ..if the machine couldn't do automatic reversal within then and 24hrs then ,manual reversal is being done ...guy go to the particular branch and cause mayhem shout at the top of your voice is your right ,they are being wicked to you...na your gentility them won use take play with you . 1 Like |

Your story seems exaggerated, no corporate entity will block your mobile lines and if your card isn't union Bank card it would take between 5 and 7 working days to be resolved because of its interbank nature. I think someone else may have taken the cash from that ATM after you left there, because if the machine was already counting the money, it means the dispensing of money has been approved in its programming and will be dispensed later on, that's why there are cases of people slotting in their cards and before they type anything cash rolls out of it.
However it's not your fault, the bank has to take the responsibility for that, don't go to the bank and be sounding polite with customer care, in present day Nigeria, customer care hardly help people who sound polite, it's either they give you the cash or you receive the alert on your phone before you leave the bank, anything less than that they will know a customer visited their bank, another thing- if any person tells why are you disturbing because of 20k, tell the person to give you the money and the disturbance will stop ...

Please, edit all other information, just the narration of that transaction. Let us take it from there. Meanwhile, you did not state whether the ATM card used was Union Bank ATM card. If your card is Union Bank and you used it on union bank ATM, you may need check you account statement through their mobile app to confirm whether or not it has been reversed. If not, provide the transaction description as requested above. If the card used was another bank card, your point of call should be to the bank that issued you the ATM for refund.
