Inasmuch as I feel the job seeker shouldn't have used the sticker or any sticker at all, I think the employer shouldn't have come down to whatsapp platform for such an official converation in the first place. Email is a better platform for that.

Again, no one is above mistakes okay. If everyone takes such a harsh action over a one-off mistake without warning, who will survive it?

I've made the mistake of using BCOB in formal correspondences (email though) a couple of times but I noticed the recipient once responded with the same abbreviation.

We actually get along as partners but his superiors are always copied in the mails. Sometimes I get carried away because of the ability to respond to official mails on the go.

WhatsApp is not a place for formal communication to begin with. It was not designed for that and so it's easier to get trivial and informal on WhatsApp. Stickers are not a reason to sack anyone, not when it was a first use. That's unnecessarily mean and harsh. The guy was just excited and his use of stickers doesn't mean he has a poor attitude.

We're it to be a highly skilled job with demand in a foreign country. No one would even think of doing that. In Nigeria there are few jobs and many people so employers feel high, are easily triggered and fire workers too easily.

Well I agree with u but u can never know the mood of the person om the other side so its good to keep it's simple and clean.

I would be triggered by such a sticker not cos I'm wicked bt cos I want a sane employee and work environment.

I had fired a staff chatting me up and kept using emoji to respond to my messages in a serious business situation I kept telling her to send readable text to tell me the exact situation where she went to but kept responding with emoji and she got fired.

Next time conduct yourself in proper manner ok. Sorry you lost the opportunity learn from it.
