I know a young Man currently finishing his house with about 2 million naira. He's not building something extravagant. Infact na just roofing remain. Him done almost finish everything.

I'm planning also in the near future by God Grace to build something like a 3 -4 bedroom too. My budget will be about 4million or 4.5M. not exceeding.

Reading through some of the comments on this thread, especially the comments from supposed 'males', I can see how gross foolishness is displayed. A man is a head of the home, no doubt from the story, the money is a joint saving with the wife but have you counted the cost of building a house compared to getting a car "for a start"? Have you asked if they had a car before hand? Well, if they did have a car and the man still bought a new car, was the old car still in a functional state?
Some questions need be asked before jumping into a one-sided conclusion. Yes the lady has divorced the man but this reason the op gave is not reason enough for a reasonable and matured woman to divorce her husband. To me, the woman's action is even more foolish than the action of the man.

How much is the worth of the car?
How much is the proposed house project worth including the logistics?

Apart from the fact that both contributed the said money for an agreed purpose and the man reneged, Owing a house& Ownig a car are both essential, and for me owing a car is far from being a luxury .

Another thing is, in case the cash raised is as much is 15million, could the man have bought a modest car of not more than 3 mn and built a modest house with rest?

Thank you brother. The man that just finished my brother's house project told me this. He said that the first thing he did after saving some money was to buy a very nice car. His wife thought that he was foolish for doing that. But alas, they now have two houses, two cars and a big supermarket for the wife. What did he do? Instead of jumping keke and bikes to meet up with clients, he bought that very nice ride. That lifted his status up to the level of those big men and women. He easily attracts big clients who are willing to pay huge without much pricing unlike before when he was looked down like a pauper. So, buying a car is not a liability entirely if one is smart.
Class perception is everything in Nigeria. You must act and look rich to attract the top class. Nobody gives a Bleep about his house if he chose to build it the moment he leaves the house to a function or business meeting. Na the kind car wey him drive come matters and he will be treated that way.

That's not an excuse. Their agreement was that they should build a house of their own. A house isn't built in a day, it takes time.

Seems extreme, but this probably isn't the first time he's done something like this.
