Hello people,

I recently found this thread and it brought back hope to life in me.. I just want to ask how you guys are doing it? Staying sane, keeping positive energy.

I submitted my application with the new portal on 04/02/2022, I got biometrics appointment, did it the following day, it was uploaded 04/03/2022. Since then no update. My Profile is still reading “Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start reviewing your eligibility”. I feel so sad whenever I login and it is still same till date. To make it worse processing time is now 11weeks, yet nothing moves on my profile. I’ve filled web form, April 22, still nothing. My upfront medical is on 18/05/2022.

I see threads where people mentioned, ordering for GCMS, please how do I do that? Then MP, what is MP?

Its simply saying you didnt convince the visa officer with enough proof of relationship with the sponsor and also evidence that the sponsor would maintain his/her commitment to be your sponsor while in Canada hence the Visa officer is in doubt you would return after your studies.

Tell the sponsor to transfer money to you as a form of commitment.

The Visa officer is also not convince of your ties to Nigeria. Therefore you have to work on it with, certificate of birth for each member of the family, pictures with your family, employment letter, leave letter, pictures while at work, assets docs or/and business docs.

@Anon123 thanks a lot for your response, and regards home ties, i’m married with three kids & put in all their birth certificates & that of my husband. I presented my employment letter, promotion letter, leave letter & documents of landed property in d name of my husband & I. My sponsors paid my first semester tuition & insisted Dey will only give me remaining when I get visa. Pls how do you advise I repackage & reapply? Thanks

Since your submitting online you don't need to sign any of the IMM documents physically. Validate/save after filling the forms and re-upload.

Yea my uncle is not a sponsor per se, he’ll ‘financially support’ plus I also mentioned myself as a self sponsor providing my bank docs that I can also support myself. Mpower served as the heavy lifter for money.

You should use your pension account instead as proof of funds. Proof of funds for Pension is only limited to 25% of the total amount credited to the retirement savings account.

In line with the Pension Reform Act, you can only withdraw a maximum of 25% of the outstanding balance if you are out of a job for up to 4 months and unable to secure another job. That would be the maximum limit you can withdraw when you get to Canada. However, the entire pension account can be used as a home tie to demonstrate that you have a job and cash investment back home.

Your dad is still in active service, so he can't make any withdrawal for now, so it won't fly. Yes, attach your salary account; it proves that you have a job. You can also attach that of your dad if he has sufficient funds. But you will need to attach a statement with a closing balance covering at least your first year of tuition and living expenses. In a few cases, people submitted applications without much money in their account and got approval, but it is better to play it safe by having enough money.

Sometimes, this stuff depends on luck and the God factor, and it just depends on how you can organise your SOP, documents, and application to convince the visa officer.

Thanks for this bunch!

Hello, greetings everyone. Please my mum who will be my sponsor just received a lump sum of 15m from a family friend to assist in the proof of funds. The only problem is that the account has not been active for up to a month and I'm worried because I heard that account statements being submitted should be at least 4 months. Please any advice on how I can go about this?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Nobody: 11:59am On May 11, 2022
If you already had a TRV that won't expire until next year, but couldn't start your program last year, how do you update the IRCC of a new LOA for fall 2022? I hope it's not complicated. Also, how soon can one hear from them?

What they are concerned about is funding and home tie. I think you should ask your sponsor to pay part of your tuition and also deposit the money in your own account. Show evidence of the deposit. Then if you have any land property or housing property add it to the application.

Wow, congratulations I'm so happy for you
May the land of Canada favour you
Cheers

Quick one
Please i came across a question on the new portal and i need those that have answered such to give their opinions
Is your spouse accompanying you to Canada?
Answer yes if they will join you later

So if they wont now and not sure they will later...is it right to pick a NO?
if they will later and yes is ticked...wont it have an effect on the issuance of visa?

Will appreciate a feedback ...Thanks

My Testimony

Long post alert!

What God cannot do, does not exist!
I’m so elated, my heart is full of joy, I can’t express my emotions, I never knew this day will finally come. God showed up for me after 3 refusals… God’s Mercies, Grace and Favour found me. I am that woman that God showed mercy! I return all glory to God almighty.

My journey started in August 2020, my first application was shabbily packaged as I had little or no idea of the whole process. I got refused in September 2020 over purpose of study and personal assets and financial status.

I went back to the drawing board and sorted some help from friends and applied in December 2021, it came back refused in February for same reasons, I am very certain that the VO didn’t read my LOE, I was really shattered cos I got the refusal on my husband’s birthday in February after I threw a surprise birthday for him.

I applied again in April, this time i ensured all loopholes were tightly sealed. It was 2 months after I submitted that I joined naira land, so I was glad to know that I was not alone in this struggle, and was encouraged each time people testify about PPR, so I was always here to get more information and was hoping for the best, on 31st August I went to take my 2nd dose of vaccine, Gbam! I saw the two love letters, I was excited and scared at the same time, I didn’t open it till I finished at the health center, I got back to the office and opened it, behold! It was another refusal, I couldn’t believe it I was literally without life cos the previous week I knew how much I struggled to get a spot for my medicals cos the previous one already expired so I did it and updated them. It was as if I was dreaming and I didn’t want to wake up to reality, I was shattered as I felt betrayed and abandoned, this time the refusal reason was only on personal assets and financial status. I couldn’t understand why? I requested for GCMS note and when the notes came in November, my pre assessment was all positive, it was 90% certain I was getting the approval but the senior officer said NO, and
was concerned about my family composition, if the fund available will be adequate to take of both studies and my unaccompanying children. They didn’t point out that I had paid school fees and that I also submitted my personal bank statement with about 2M and my mutual fund statements 1.7M, My husband is my sponsor and I submitted his savings account and domiciliary account statements of about 20M, his pay slips, business document and property rentals … I really found that reason absurd. my medicals was updated to pass a day after my refusal. This time, my siblings advised me to give up the dream but I was resilient and I persevered.

After mourning my refusal, I applied again on 16th January 2022, I thank God for naira land so I packaged my application with all the information I got here, this time, my husband transferred more funds to my account and supported it with a gift deed, submitted all his accounts and the funds were about 40M, wrote a convincing LOE and SOP. After 6 weeks of my application i started sending emails and web forms and also applied for my GCMS notes, I later contacted the MP in Halifax and they obliged to assist me get updates on my application. The MP got back to me and it was stated that have reviewed my application and will contact me for medicals.

I gave it my all, in all of this, I recognized that only God can help me this time. So I never failed to connect to NSPPD 7am prayers every weekdays, I keyed in to every word of knowledge from PST about visa approvals, I prayed, fasted, visited orphanage home, gave alms, stayed strong and positive and mercy of God found me and God came through for me.

My GCMS note came back and I realized that my eligibility was already passed, medical passed but expired, I quickly forwarded my updated medical sheet to them and my medical was updated a day after that.
My BVL came on 7th of April and I didn’t get any other mail after that, I became very anxious and confused, This struggle no dey finish, i was sending 3 emails everyday for 2 weeks, nothing oh, I resumed fasting and prayer, talked to a few people to get some encouragement, then I stopped sending emails, then yesterday I decided to resume the emails and I changed my narration, this time I wasn’t ready to pacify them, then I sent webform this morning and the mail landed by mid day. I guess the webform did the magic! my PPR landed after 32 days!

I’ve come to share my struggle and experience to give glory to God almighty and to encourage each and every PPR hopefuls here. Pls don’t give up and put your trust in God, he never fails!
If God can do it for me after several refusals with all the odds against me, he can do it for everyone expecting PPR in Jesus name.

I must appreciate all the gurus and wonderful people here giving information and sharing experiences on this platform, every Information I got that helped my application, I received most of them from here! thank you all and God almighty bless you.
